Why Troy Weaver’s Plan Isn’t Working | Detroit Pistons

GM Troy Weaver has built the Detroit Pistons to mirror the 2014 OKC Thunder + James Harden. But the team is missing the biggest piece of the puzzle in center piece Kevin Durant. The squad has looked directionless this season, and leadership has been a main issue. In this video I breakdown the Troy Weaver’s vision and look to this offseason.

  1. On second thought, maybe KD will demand a trade after that beatdown šŸ’€šŸ’€šŸ’€šŸ’€šŸ§ØšŸ’„

  2. Your criticism of Troy is a bit Monday morning quarterback. But you do have a few points.

You want Troy to build around Cade after his rookie Season right?

After Cade's rookie season where you convinced he was the Franchise guy? Did you believe Jaden Ivey was a Franchise guy after his rookie season?

So after Cade broke his Leg we're you still going to build around him coming into this season or did you want to see what he, Ivey and Duren could do all together?

So let's slow our role alittle bit! Now we know Cade is it. Now we know we must build around Cade. Let's stop acting like Everything was crystal clear and we knew what needed to be done!

  3. He was doing everything to not spend any significant cash. Holding out to top young talent with role players. But in the process weā€™ve been the worst franchise in the league and he might get the boot.

  4. Weaver wanted to keep Grant. The people Gores listens to (Stefanski and Tellem) as well as the fan base thought he should be traded. I guess we forgot about that. I think Weaver would be better off going to an organization that will let him work without second guessing his every move. Detroit will still suck as long as Stefanski and Tellem are in Gores ear. He brought them in soon after he bought the team and the pistons have been horrible ever since

  5. Why Troy Weaver's plan isn't working?

    1. The ODDS – Only 1 out of 30 GM's "PLANS" SUCCEED each season, even if they do everything right that a GM can do.
    2. Youth & inexperience
    3. Injuries
    4. TOUGHEST NBA SCHEDULE EVER
    5. Lack of HEIGHT
    6. Lack of CHEMISTRY/SYNERGY
