    Improved defensive awareness and toughness from the backcourt. However that’s accomplished, through the draft, trade or free agency, or internal development, it’s the number one thing I believe the team needs going forward .

    Personally, I don’t believe the current roster can compete on that end so a number of trades with defensive players in mind will need to be completed.

  2. Finding a good defensive wing and a backup 1/2 guard, the backup needs to be a shooter, or at least a threat. They rebalanced the roster really well after the deadline and the team’s missing the same things everyone else is, there’s barely any backup PG’s worth paying right now .

    Still not a very competent group outside of BBQD though, I’m kinda conflicted between wanting the BPA from this draft or swinging on a project. Depends on if we think those 4 are good enough to be a playoff core going forward.

    **Three overall objectives:**

    * Get more athletic defensively
    * Add perimeter shooting with size
    * Add a backup PG with toughness and/or off-ball skills

    **Some ideas:**

    * Pawn off Poeltl on OKC and sign Nick Claxton
    * FA targets: Jalen Smith, Caleb Martin, Saddiq Bey(RFA) Obi Toppin(RFA)
    * Draft targets: Castle, McCain, JaKobe, Collier (or if you get a shot at Clingan or Sarr, forget Claxton)
    * Let Gary and Bruce walk

    >Perhaps the most important component of Toronto’s long-term health is this number: In 400 minutes with all three of Barnes, Barrett, and Quickley on the court, Toronto had a net rating of plus-3.3. In 200 minutes with Poeltl as well, it was plus-11.5.

    Poeltl 💪
