No matter how this season ended, I will always love this man! He killed it despite being so badly injured, and he deserves NO HATE OR DISRESPECT!

Something I posted in another thread:

    > The team failed Embiid so badly. He’s playing so injured, and Maxey was the only one who stepped up. One play that is a microcosm is the fact that Embiid had to be the one to commit the foul to foul out, because the rest of the team was too incompetent to do it. Morey’s gotta do something big in the summer with max cap space and 5 tradable draft picks.

I just want him to win a title. This organisation has fucking failed him

  3. Master-Ad7325

Last year two years fell squarely on this man’s shoulders. Not this year

  4. Hollerback1

He deserves nothing but love. Fought through 2 serious injuries. Hobbled on one leg with one eye. He played his heart out. Fuck anyone who says anything different.

  5. EarthWindandFlyers

It sucks but the dude is just never gonna be healthy. Knees don’t get better the older you get.

  6. jawntothefuture

Joel fucking FOUGHT this year. In prior years, he rightfully was a scapegoat (to some extent). No question this year he fucking brought his game

  7. dabirds1994

He balled out tonight. Warrior stuff from him while hobbled and dealing with face spasms. I didn’t expect much from this season, but I’m OK with it. We found two rotation guys in Oubre and Batum (at least for one more year) and Council looks like a baller.

  8. Anyone throwing criticism Joel’s way should probably look at the 40 million dollar anchor that’s been dragging the team down.

Couldn’t agree more. The shit this guy has been through ought to be a documentary after he retires. His brother, the injuries and years of red shirts, the orbital socket, the Simmons bullshit, Harden, MVP snubs and the eventual win and just all the injuries. And oh yeah this year his injury and surgery actually is going to cut his career even shorter due to a higher risk for arthritis. The sacrifices this guy has made and everything he has put up with…fuck Josh Harris and Morey need to get this man a ring whatever the fuck it costs.

  10. I just don’t understand, how in the playoffs this team just devolves into hot garbagẽ the moment he comes out

  11. His energy tonight was incredible. Great confidence, fought hard all game. At least we went down with real heart

  12. McMillan104

Even though we just got eliminated I’m oddly happy and hopeful. Embiid and Maxey showed a ton of heart this run and we’re finally off of the Tobias contract.

Im mad we waste so many years fucking up the rosters around him. It’s sickening.

  14. He’s the one dude whose reputation will do an immediate, damn-near violent 180, the second he wins a championship

  15. TheMightyCatatafish

He played tonight the way we wanted him to play in every other elimination game from previous seasons.

    This loss isn’t on Joel.

Loved this team, we played with more grit than I’ve seen in forever. Doc rivers teams would have been swept out of this series. Embiid, Maxey, and Nurse are the core, build around them. TTP.

  17. MaxeytoEmbiid

Definitely showed up in the game and for a lot of the series. Though it took us years my Reddit nick is what it is for a reason.

Now Daryl, time’s yours to build this roster up. No excuses you settled for the cap plan, make it work

  18. IReallyLikeAvocadoes

Everyone else is gonna have their extremely misinformed narrative but above all we know he did NOT disappear these playoffs. His worst game was literally a triple double. Just put some sane players around him for christ sake.

  19. KaplerStinks

    All true.

But no more runbacks. Time for something new.

  20. ThrowbackJorts

Still my favorite player in the league, showed so much heart tonight

  21. Macgrubersblaupunkt

Hes the only reason this team has been recently relavent. Regular season or otherwise.

  22. InspectorNS

Joel proved the haters wrong with his performance this year. Played like a dawg and fought his heart out, especially in the elimination game. Nothing but respect!

  23. IDoesThis1

I’m so thankful for what maxey did for him in game 5. The media would’ve ate him alive if he went out with the type of game he had in regulation of game 5

  24. ilikemarblestoo

Yeah. I dont get the hate.  He may have not been making all the shots, but he was trying and always looked tired and his defense was great.

Keep him and Maxey at least. Those two need more help. Some of the other guys are alright tho but some are glaring issues. Improve there.

  25. illskillzdealer

Wish we could sit him 50 games and have him in prime form come playoff time. Fake an injury lol. Please God let us have one healthy playoff run in his career with a decent team around him

  26. Bdawksrippinfacesoff

Not mad at Embiid. Not mad at the team. The Knicks hit every important shot and the bounces went the Knicks way. Sucks we were robbed of game 2. It would have been a different series.

  27. I hope he never leaves. Just need another guy to get buckets with Maxey when he sits or isn’t 100%. We’re so close.

  28. Knicks fan here and I’ll probably get some hate from my brothers, but Embiid was a freaking warrior and respect how hard he played. You could see how much he really wanted to win.

  29. philly-buck

You can post this every year. Same as it ever was.
