I was watching the game with my brother who’s a Knicks fan and watching Brunson do those moves and get those calls. Not a word from my brother on that
If that were Trae, he’d be saying some dumb shit we’ve all heard before: ‘Traes twerking on his defender again’, ‘stop flopping little bitch’ etc.
I like to think I’m a kinder person than he is, so I didn’t say anything, thinking he might recognize the hypocrisy, but of course he doesn’t. Brunson doesn’t have the narrative around him that he’s a flopper/foul baiter, so he can get away with those plays.
It’s another stupid player-narrative bias that Trae has against him that, although seemingly small, will ultimately hinder his career in the long run, perpetuating a continuous negative narrative around him until he either retires or (🤮🤮🤮) leaves Atlanta (There’s a whole *thing* with that topic I’ll have to get into another time)

They did the same with unnatural shooting motion on 3s. They changed the rule to ban it, gave Trae 30 offensive fouls to make an example until he stopped, then they proceeded to let other guards still do it.

He’s not wrong.
Many are saying that it’s only the jumping backwards motion into the defender after stopping that’s illegal, but that’s simply not the case.
You cannot abruptly and abnormally stop in front of a defender to draw a foul.
Should’ve been an offensive foul on Brunson.

I know Trae was also insanely good at it, but honestly fuck this take.
I hate this move with such a deep passion and those guys are good enough to get to the line or rim with other methods.
Its just predictable and boring to watch.

Didn’t Trae get called for an offensive foul with the move in the play-in game?

Trae never stopped doing it?
What’s the “move”??
Maybe we can trade Trae and his dad for Brunson?
