E: full note, I really doubt the Heat trade Butler and likely give him the extension, even though I lowkey think it might be a mistake because I don’t see many great routes to making us a championship team right now and this could be the reset we kind of desperately need, but who knows
I mean this could be a chance to get Mitchell long term and even get salary off the books if the Cavs want players back. And even get some assets out of it all. It’s an opportunity that won’t come again. Basically have to decide do you actually believe you can make the moves needed to win a chip with Jimmy VERY SOON and extend him or do you think a soft reset to address a lot of our issues is better

I love Jimmy and think we should continue to try to build a winner. But if he wants to leave and a deal like this is available, we should definitely consider it. It gives us the ammunition we’re currently missing to build a top team on Bam’s timeline.

I’m very much hoping we resign Jimmy, but I can’t deny the comedic value if this does happen, then the Sixers don’t win anything.
I hate the Sixers as much as any of y’all do but Jimmy is friends with Embiid & Nurse is 1 of the best coaches in the league (Spo is the best but Nurse is an elite coach too), plus Maxey is an emerging superstar
I’d be happy for him if he ends up back in Philly tbh. I am desperate to see him win a ring.
