Lakers fire Darvin Ham, is Brunson a superstar, Joel Embiid’s legacy | NBA | FIRST THINGS FIRST

Nick Wright, Chris Broussard and Kevin Wildes react to the Los Angeles Lakers firing Darvin Ham after two seasons as the team’s head coach, then debate whether it is officially time to label Jalen Brunson as a superstar. 1. Anthony Davis lets the Lakers down. By now he's supposed to be the MVP player and he's just not and there's no reason for it. He should be on Giannis' level but he's not and Lebron needs him to be. None of this is a surprise tho, this is just what he is.

  2. The problem is Lebron 😂 A wanna be GM and Coach while playing, demanding things left and right 😂 if his demands don’t work.. guess what?! Blames everyone around him 😂

  3. The blame conversation on the lakers hinges entirely on if you have common sense and point out the AD and Russ moves nuked the lakers roster and picks, and both were Lebron choices. It’s wild to criticize their GM, but not LeGM for moves we know he wanted and pushed for.

  4. And the Lebron excuse train keeps a roller… You want to have it both ways he wants Lebron to be the greatest of all time but then have 0 accountability because he's an older player… Lebron is taking max bunny and is no longer a max player and the Lebron apologist yes yes admit it that he refuses to take last money so they can have a better roster…. Go watch Anthony Edwards if you want to see a max player

  5. Way are people talking about jj redick dude has never coaches before in his life… he is a analyst are they kidding me, There is no way lakers hire a person who is a analyst who has never coached🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

  6. Nick stop lying Jordan did it three times and is the only person to average over forty five times in a playoff series every one else in history have done it four times and only once so stop lying to the public when it comes to Jordan he has the most records in the playoffs period and I can name them if need be careful nick what you say

  7. If the star players didnt let the lakers down, the "8th to 12th best" players in the league PLUS the top 5 player in the league WILL NOT have allowed lakers to be the 7th seed and face a tough opponent in the first round. Especially the nuggets is up there with ONE all star. This is a scapegoating act no matter how you flip it Nick Wright. Let's not forget Nick Wright himself was tweaking about how Lakers "won" the offseason before this season started. Is that not credit to the front office? Point is the front office, the coach can be however fantastic, if the star players didnt execute, you lose.

  8. Nobody is going to buy into what a bunch of temp coaches are trying to sell them. Although I guess all their players are temps too besides LBJ and AD

  9. They just have more reasons to talk about lebron and lakers instead of the playoff teams.

  10. Weaponizing 'I can hold multiple ideas at the same time' is subclinical narcissistic behavior. It means you can never be wrong because you can claim that you aren't or weren't emotionally committed to any of the ideas being raised and so you get to save face for having idiotic self inflating 'I want to be right so bad' self-love takes

  11. There's only been 4 players to average 30ppg in a season while shooting 50% averaging 5 rebounds and 5 assist per game:
    Wilt twice
    KD once
    Steph once
    MJ did it FIVE TIMES…

Nick wright being a bit slick still saying lebrons the only one , he added a rebound lol

  12. You guys are not serious the most accountable is lebron james what are you guys talking about. The front office that only make moves because lebron James is bitching. I can’t take any of you media people seriously because if we offend lebron I won’t get interviews. Please stop like you serious

  13. Knicks hate is real !!! Smh 🤦‍♂️

Brunson is a superstar period !
    Top 2 mvp candidate without a doubt !!!! 👍😊🏀

  14. Dear Lebron James Haters:

It's all about EXPECTATIONS…..owners have expectations when LBJ is on the team…..and typically a short leash for young coaches.

Unfortunately for LBJ….Spoelstra and Ty Lue….were the only young coaches that got the job done.

Players play…. coaches coach…. managers manage.

Was the leash short with Ham, probably so.

But to say Lebron fires these coaches – it's typical LBJ SLANDER.

no milk at Wal Mart – it's Lebron fault…….lakers trade all draft picks….Lebron did that too. LMAO & SMH

All stars get consulted and probably can give a coach a vote of confidence prior to them being let go

See Giannis – and Lillard….they didn't save Griffin with Milwaukee prior to him being let go……and Lebron and AD didn't save Ham.

Just a week ago – AD said…..AT TIMES, WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE FLOOR

that was a indirect [DIRECT] shot at the coach.

Yet, the slander comes and LBJ is a coach firer

Perform like Ty Lue and Spoelstra……you good………show that you not ready……then oh well.

  15. Nick gives Embiid and LeBron a pass for losing to better teams in Round 1 but he never forgives Jokic for losing to Golden State in Round 1 with his depleted roster.

  16. He’s gaslighting Trae Young lmaooo Jalen Brunson is a superstar I love how he gets doubted. Just keep proving them wrong. Just like my Buffalo Bills Josh gets hated on and he just stays consistent

  17. Its easy to put up great numbers when ur the only one who shoots on ur team ..
Give me at least 2 positive shooting games ffs

  18. It’s cool when they hype Lebron so let them hype Jalen .. spread the JUICE lol no pun intended

  19. A better team beat the Lakers, its that simple. Blaming the coach for the unskilled Lakers team against a beast like Denver is crazy.

  20. Darvin Ham was inept on every level. He lost the locker room, didn't call timeouts or make adjustments, showed blatant favoritism, didn't call plays, had horrid rotations and ineffective defensive schemes. He deserved to be fired.

  21. Sports media is insane because every time LeBron doesn't win a NBA Championship, it's everyone else's fault yet before MJ won 6 NBA Championships, it was MJs fault the Bulls didn't win and when he did win his six NBA Championships, then the sports media says he never won a NBA Championship without Pippen. If Pippen and the Bulls were so great why didn't they win an NBA Championship when MJ left to play baseball? Also, how many NBA Championships do the Bulls have without MJ?
