This is a fully baked idea
You save the money and Lebron won’t want to get himself fired. Great idea 😂
Bill simmons comming through with a devilish idea here. He is right saying that if Bron would coach himself to a finals he would have a better case against Jordan, but if he fails….
High risk medium to high reward move
All MJ wanted to do was play. He was smart enough to know he couldn't do Phil Jackson's job. Lebron would also have to overcome his own lousy decision-making as GM. It's better for his look to have fall-guys taking the blame, or at least that's what he seems to think.
I'm starting to get the feeling that Lebron will be entering the "Doesn't Know When to Quit" phase of his career before too much longer…
This dude bill wilding
😂😂😂
The NBA no longer allows player coaches.
Plot twist Bill
I have that cup set!
I was just gonna say you go the bill Russell route
3 1/2 titles for leGM in 21 seasons…not the GOAT…
As a Lakers fan plz God no
Bill Simmons next Lakers Head Coach
Best. Take. Ever. Let’s go, LBJ player/coach.
This is a fantastic take
Would LeBron sub himself out on defensive possessions?
Bill is reaching Kissinger levels of scheming. He. can barely hold back the smile.
Bill, I'd like you to remind people that Russell also won 5 MVPs. FIVE. And NEVER gets mentioned as best player ever. Never even considered. But Wilt in The Playoffs is. Yeah, I'd like to see LeBron do that… but we all know LeBron will ALWAYS leave himself an out to blame if things don't work out. Too calculating.
Mike Budenholzer
Player coach would be cool to watch with LeBron but then it’d be a slippery slope after that
…or Mike Budenholzer, lol
When did playing longer ever entail you were/are the “best”?
From LeGM to LeCoach? That would be a step down for LeBalco 🤣🤣🤣 MJ never lost 6 finals too, here is something that makes the goat convo more interesting 🤣🤣🤣
I've been saying that for years since in effect he's been calling the shots for at least a decade or more, I was wondering why they didn't just make it official and make him the player head coach.
This is the perfect LeBron capstone.
Lebron wont bench himself, so no its a bad idea. He also wont play defense, and tends to be overly critical of others….the team needs a leader that will bench him. Michael Jordan retired because he wouldn't play for anyone else…but mike was able to adapt his game to a coach
Regardless of how he felt.
Yup
Players can’t be coaches anymore under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. This is a non-starter.
The Loser there would be Lakers fans because then they'd have to actually have to put blame on the players and roster construction
Lebron’s logical next step is to prove that he really is smarter than all his coaches and become the league’s first player/coach in decades (was the last one Bill Russel🤔)At some age 45+ why not give it a go🤔. It’d be entertainment and as long as the Lakers are entertaining, competitive, & making coin that’s all that matters in Tinseltown 🤔👍😎
The correct answer is, of course, Jay Mohr.
Not allowed any more.
