Paolo Banchero led the Magic with 38 points and a Playoffs career-high 16 rebounds. The Cavaliers will face the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Tuesday, May 7, 7:00 PM ET, TNT/TruTV.

The Cavaliers overcame an 18-PT deficit (49-31 at 4:17, Q2), which is the largest comeback of a Game 7 in the PXP era (1997-98), previously 17 points by the Blazers v the Nuggets on May 12, 2019 was the largest.

Donovan Mitchell totals 89 points in Games 6 & 7 this series, giving him the second-most total points in a Game 6 and 7 stretch in NBA history, previously:
* Allen Iverson: 90 total points, 2001 Eastern Conference Finals vs Milwaukee
* Donovan Mitchell: 89 points, 2024 Eastern Conference Round 1 vs Orlando
* Dominique Wilkins: 82 total points, 1988 Eastern Conference Semifinals vs Boston

With 39 points in today’s game, Donovan Mitchell totals the third-most points by a Cleveland Cavalier in a Game 7 in their franchise history.
* LeBron James – 45 PTS, CLE v IND on April 29, 2018 in RD 1
* LeBron James – 45 PTS, CLE v BOS on May 18, 2008 in the Semifinals
* Donovan Mitchell – 39 Points, CLE v ORL on May 5, 2024 in RD 1
* LeBron James – 35 PTS, CLE v BOS on May 27, 2018 in the Conference Finals

Paolo Banchero (21y, 175d old) scored 38 points in today’s Game 7. He sets a new mark for most points scored by a player 21 or younger in a winner-take-all Playoffs game, previously the three highest scoring games for a player who fit the criteria were:
* Luguentz Dort (21y, 136d old) – 30 PTS, OKC v HOU in RD 1 on Sep. 2, 2020
* LeBron James (21y, 142d old) – 27 PTS, CLE at DET in the Semifinals on May 21, 2006
* Kobe Bryant (21y, 286d old) – 25 PTS, LAL v POR in the Conference Finals on June 4, 2000

Paolo Banchero is the ONLY player in Orlando’s franchise history to score 35+ PTS and tally 15+ REB in a Game 7 in their franchise history. Today’s game marks the fourth such Game 7 in Orlando’s franchise history.

  1. The cavs barely got any with this game. Donovan Mitchell had a great game. The other guys like Durius Garland, Issac Okuro, and a little bit more of Mobley will have to benefit the whole team by stepping it up against the Celtics. Mobley just needs to be more aggressive on the boards and garland just needs to get to the line maybe move around to get open for his shots or be a facilitator

  2. Fultz is now a serviceable bench player. He is good in his role. But you still have to label him a bust because he was a #1. Just like Lonzo Bust is also a bust.

  3. Banchero might be the best player in the league in a few years. Magic are gonna be tough if they can keep the core around.

  4. HOW CAN ANYONE BE SAD? I cant be more proud of this MAGIC team for coming out of nowhere to give Cleveland and the NBA a 7 game series! This team is going nowhere but up! and the delusional Cleveland trolls are just staying where they are! lmaoo! they will never win the championship but Orlando? This is just their floor! See you all next year WE HAVE A REVENGE SERIES against the CAVS just waiting ! peace

  5. If Mitchell thinks he is gonna score at will in the next series he is wrong.be a good time to reconnect with his teammates for the quarter finals..good luck Cleveland but it don t look good.

  6. If the Cavaliers had a top-tier coach this series would have went five games. Such a shame this talented Cavaliers team has been dragged down the last two seasons, and you could count the play-in game 3 years ago, by such a crappy coach, Bickerstaff is downright awful.
