Jamahl Mosley mentioned the team will NOT make moves for the sake of making moves: “It’s gotta be the right person to join this group… you have a group of men that pull for one another, that strive for one another. That lift each other up to do the right thing”

They know what they need. He’s going to say all of the right things right now. No way they don’t address the lack of shooting and no legitimate point guard.
They’re going to run it back
This is obvious for anyone who actually follows the team and isn’t ignoring reality just to play fantasy GM and indulge their own delusions.

The entire world: place shooters around Paolo
Mosley: we arent gonna make any moves for the sake of it.
I’m going to find a way to twist this, so that I can pretend like Trae Young being our starting PG is happening, for sure.
As is right. This team has flaws, but we don’t want an Atlanta situation where we give up assets for a guy who doesn’t move the needle, or a situation where we sign a guy and tie up cap space that doesn’t pan out and hinders our salary for the future. This FA class is relatively weak, especially when it comes to players that can fit our needs. Throwing a lot of money at the wrong player would be an awful idea.
I’d much rather run it back for the most part, give AB an actual role in the team, evaluate where someone like Jett is at, than to throw a big contract at someone like Klay. It has to be the right move. I’d expect small moves if anything. Maybe a starting caliber point guard, maybe a shooting wing. Don’t think we see anything very major.
I appreciate what he’s saying, but he’s not the general manager. They have a few players without guaranteed contracts and a lot of money to spend. Weltman will be upgrading this roster over the summer.
The only move I think we should (and potentially will) make is for Anfernee Simons and that means giving up some picks and, unfortunately, Cole.
Hate to tell this sub but JI and Fultz are more than likely returning to this team on the most team-friendliest deals possible. To me, if they come off the bench, I don’t mind this so long as it’s only for like two years (as someone said here, this FA class is pretty weak with Jrue Holiday already extended).
Monk is gonna want a lengthy, plentiful contract but I will be happy to be wrong.
I really think the way our cap situation is right now we HAVE to sign someone or make a trade to improve this roster. It would be a wasted opportunity to not use that cap space while we still have Paolo, Franz, and Suggs on rookie deals.
The only way they could possibly run it back would be by overpaying our expirings, which would be a mistake. They don’t need to go out and pay a ton of money for PG or Klay to improve this team, since we are not contending next year either.
There are players available that we can afford and that should fit in with this group that aren’t home run swings + we need to see what our last draft picks can provide.
Good. That’s what we need. Our strength comes from chemistry. Honestly that is why I feel this team over achieved this season.
This is the year they will have cap space. It’s the only time you add to this team without having to trade away assets. They need to spend
When you’ve got a team as tight knit and close as ours you have to be careful adding guys in. You don’t want it to detract from our strong core and the development our young stars can get playing alongside each other for a couple of years is going to be massive for them. I understand we need shooters, but I’m just saying I hope we don’t go crazy. Giving this team time is the smart play and letting these guys develop unhindered
