I think Luka is simply hurt. Chet looked good. Dallas couldn't finish around the basket.
Shai didn't play heaps better. Chet is the reason okc are where they are period.
Luka is at 70% at best. THJ is just awefull. Whoever wins this series i will root for the chip.
Luka has a hitch in his giddyup…
I wanna see T-Wolves and OKC, love these 2 small market teams…
Mailbag question: With your philosophy that the best player in the world is the one that host the trophy. If the Wolves win the Championship is Ant gonna be the best player in the world or will you look at Jokic as being the best? Btw love your content, is a blessing having a voice like you in the NBA media
Mailbag Question: Hey Jason In your opinion, given that the playoffs seem to have a raised level of “urgency and intensity”, what are three skills and attributes to look for in upcoming prospects that are usual indicators that their game would translate into the playoffs. Love the breakdowns, keep it up!
I know you say "everyone is hurt", but Luka is hurt. He has no lift under his shots. He can't drive as effectively. He's getting more gassed by the end of the game. It is what it is. He even said that if this was the regular season, he probably wouldn't be playing, let alone 40+ minutes a night.
All I need to know is that Chet and SGA are scrawny and the Wolves are bull dozing Denver. Denver was the best execution team. OKC cannot execute with the wolves defense. And again, SGA is a scrawny foul grifter who relies on free throws and is bound to get injured mid air.
+105 for the nuggets is terrible
Keep doubting
good job OKC. 5-0 for you 6-0 for us. seems like we both going to steamroll to the wcf
I know you picked the Mavs to win the series. You speak from a their perspective.
Mailbag question:
Hi Jason,
Big fan of your show! Keep doing the good work!
Does this series change the way you view Jokic and the Nuggets from a historical point of view?
In my view, there’s no debate that Jokic is a top 20-25 player in NBA history but when you are in the conversations of the best offensive player ever and/or considered by many to have the highest peak since Lebron, the margins are very slim. If he continues to struggle against the wolves this series, it would be make me question his place in those conversations.
Additionally, I think he’s been somewhat of a defensive liability this postseason – not only against the wolves but also against the lakers.
Didn’t you say mavs in 5🤡🤡
Respect OKC
Okc in 4 or 5
Shai "badly outplayed" a 50% healthy luka by grifting 13 free throws
For real luka seems so banged up he can barely set his feet when try to shoot long 2 or 3 point shot , if he cant overcome it i cant see how far dallas can go in this run , even though he is still great playmaker..
And this horrible calls of the refs felt like regular season , such a soft calls shay gets was disgusting to watch
Why would the expectation be for the Mavs to out physical the Thunder? They’re more physical down the roster and are constantly making moves to the rim, allowing them to draw contact that the Mavs aren’t getting, especially with Luka playing so passive.
I totally agree that the whistle was very ticky-tak, but it was consistent for both teams. Dort had 5 fouls, 2 of which were super ticky tak & lost OKC their challenge, SGA had a questionable tech called on him too. There was also the Kyrie swipe to Chet’s eye/face that wasn’t called and was a 4 point swing for the Mavs. The whistle was consistent, the Thunder were simply the more aggressive team and their role players stood out as being significantly better – Wiggins was better than anyone on the Dallas bench, and the same can probably be said about Wallace.
This Thunder team has adjusted to the playoffs well & clearly showed that as this was way cleaner than their G1 vs the Pels – this is why I still expect them to win in 5/6 + Luka isn’t going to magically get healthier.
Also if I have to hear one more Mavericks fan say “DJJ was build to guard SGA!” I’m going to lose it- he was guarded by Herb Jones last series, if you don’t think Herb is a better defender than DJJ you’re crazy, especially after SGA cooking DJJ in a way he never cooked Herb tonight.
I still got Dallas in 6 & I knew OKC was going to win Game 1 by blowout. I got Dallas winning game 2 though.
If Mavs win the next two the whole narrative shifts lol
No jason sorry but 18 points on 15 shots is not good. Especially when most of them are layups…. 30 points on 30 shots isnt good either man
Im a wolves fan, but the Thunder are underrated. Im calling a sweep, but i can see DAL winning 1.
Hoops Tonight: Luka has 5 turnovers and against OKC that's suicide.
Lebron has 80+ playoff games of 5+ turnovers. That's a big reason why he's lost. It is what it is….
Mavs are too slow. Just like Nuggets
SGA have the best whistle. You can't touch SGA, you can't be physical with SGA, that's an automatic foul. The NBA should just give SGA his own whistle.😅
Luka has hurt his knee. That is why he is struggling with his shot in the post-season as compared to the regular season. There is nothing weird about this. It is easy to understand.
The refs were garbage in the first half.
The Celtics go heavily to Jaylen Brown early because he draws the weakest wing defender (with Tatum getting the best defender & Doubles).
JB will rinse Strus as he did Herro.
Derrick White is the story. As bad as Tatum has been shooting 3s, White has been shooting 3s at a very high level in the playoffs (46% in the 20 Playoff games last year along with 50% in 6 games this year)
“The refs are why we lost by 22!”
OKC is a new school team, Dallas is old school. OKC is new young players and Dallas is old old players.
Luka’s shot may be off because of great defense this post season
You're wrong about your reasoning of choosing Mavs over Thunder.
Your first season 1) Luka is better than Shai? Lmao you actually believe THIS version of Luka is better than Shai? The injured one? You need to retire you youtube channel if so because you can only base off who they are right now not the past. Chet and J-will also outplayed your "physical muscle front line" whatever that means.
Edit: Ohh you're mavs fan then it makes sense now. The bias is big in here. Enjoy getting swept 😂😂
Mailbag question: if the Celtics win the championship this year, do they become the clear 2nd most successful team of the past decade behind Golden State? Love the show, keep up the great work!
Like this series is easy to break down if Luka and Kyrie don't have 40 to 35 apiece and the others don't shoot 3's at a high clip Thunder will win in 5 or 6. Thunder have way more options to go to on offense!!!
I’m calling it now, Dallas will never be up 15 against OKC in this series
Styles make fights. This means that best depends on matchups.
Wiggs saved basketball once again.
