[Fedor] Many Cavs players pointed to their 42 3-point attempts last night as a positive sign. Even tho they made just 11, the process was good & it’s something they should try to lean into as the series progresses. Of those 42, NBA.com classified 38 as open or wide open.

Yes, we’ll see more ISO 3s against the best perimeter NBA defense. The game plan won’t change.

    Great.

11 makes on 38 open looks is so pathetic man our shooters need to step up. Embarrassing watching everyone on Boston make shots with a hand in their face while we brick wide open looks.

Could the team see that Boston is leaving certain players wide open for 3s?

I don’t understand why the Cavs suddenly can’t shoot threes. They also bricked a bunch of wide open shots against Orlando. They were a league average shooting team during the season!

Boston defense isn’t that great. We are much better defensively than them and so is Orlando. Unfortunately they don’t have to be with the offense they have.

  6. Going off of memory, it feels like they missed some open looks but also took a lot of rushed, out of rhythm 3s off of minimal ball movement. It feels like Boston got much better looks after making the Cavs scramble with their ball movement.

I’ve never even played basketball for fun, let alone organized basketball, so I don’t know sh-t about basketball. But I really hate watching the game like this. Just chucking 3-balls: if they go in, you win… if you miss, you lose. Obviously, it really sucks when the team you like goes .262 on those attempts.

The only game Miami won was getting hot from 3, and every analyst I saw (local Cleveland, local Boston, national) said the way to beat the Celtics is to play them one on one defensively and generate open 3s for yourself.

That seemed to be the game plan the Cavs went with, they just didn’t make their threes and the Celtics did.

Still going to see a lot of people blame JB though.

So what is their hope? Shoot 40% and then still lose by 7?

Guys need to make shots. Incredible how almost everyone’s shot went in the tank after the ASB.
