Congrats to Naz winning the 6MOTY but idk Odom is better

Whatever the case is, I wish we had a rich owner and competent front office like the TWolves do. I guess that’s what it’s like to have a team in a big market such as Minnesota.

Unfortunately we root for a small market team with a small market minded owner. Must be nice being a TWolves fan with all those advantages…

Gobert is nothing like Bynum. Pau was more a post playmaker and Kat is really just a scorer. Other than all 4 players being tall, they play nothing like their counterpart. It’s a stretch.

  4. MaryandMe1

I could have sworn it was the 2020 lakers these wolves were being compared to

  5. KingTutt91

It’s why I like the wolves. They got that old school mindset, the twin towers and a guard that can score you out the gym

The has been mfs in here that cant let go of the past will say no, but i like the comparison

  7. RascalKneeCawf

Two good bigs starting and one coming off the bench. Other than that, not really.

Ant=Kobe ? The fk ? First they compared Booker to Kobe and now Ant to Kobe, he’s not, before /2009, Kobe was already a legend with 3 rings, what has Ant achieved ? You don’t fk around with legend names whenever some potential young players appear.

  9. Linearization

Our top 3 in 2010 > theirs. Their depth overall is probably better than ours was

  10. niknokseyer

    Close.

Of course, 2009 Lakers with Kobe is still better but this is close in terms of contribution.

  11. LeFatigue

lol no. Gobert is a much better defender than bynum. KAT is more mobile big than Pau. And Conley is so much better than Fisher it’s not even funny. Their bench is superior as well

  12. Klaxosaur

Mfers reeling over losing they keep trying to see the Lakers in these young Wolves.

The only debatable one is the 2020 Lakers.

Even then Gobert is a HUGE upgrade over McGee/Dwight lmao.

That laker team was azz all year ,all year,Kobe would have to save every game then playoffs come and it was like they came alive , all better numbers in playoffs , those were fun times

  14. No way for the first three…taking the Kobe one as a joke…Kat has nowhere the toughness that Pau had, or the overall offensive ability…and Bynum would dominate Goebert on offense and defense

  15. Besides Ant to Kobe, none of those other guys really line up like that imo.

Unless Reid is housing 4 pots of coffee and 2 Halloween size bags of starburst a day, he is not Lamar Odom.

Current Minnesota is more of a2020 Bubble Lakers but on steroid. 2 bigs with multiple wing/guard defender.

  18. Miserable-Lawyer-233

The Wolves apparently have the make up of several championship teams, but what if they don’t even make it to the finals? All of this will be irrelevant.

    “I’m the main character” – Lakers 😭

  20. thesonicvision

    Nah…

Only similarity is that they both have a lot of size/length.

The Lakers had “the biggest frontcourt in the league” at the time (a refrain that would re-emerge, by the way, in 2020).

But if we’re gonna do a 1-to-1 player comparison of Minny’s current roster compared to those Lakers, they’re just too different.

  21. Hardigan1

I don’t think anyone on their roster compares to Kobe, not even a little bit.

  22. Bruinrogue

No. Ant is a much smaller poor man’s Kobe. KAT may have more bulk than Pau but he has none of his skill and savviness. Prime uninjured Bynum would’ve feasted in this wannabe tier of bigmen, much less Gobert who would’ve been at most Will Purdue in 90’s era ball. LO brought passing and length not just the energy that Reid had. Conley was more consistent but D-Fish wish more clutch. McDaniels better defensively, Ariza had better speed.
