Teams generally tend to contend a few years before they win it all like Denver and Milwaukee did.

Can the Jazz be a bottom 5 team with a healthy Lauri on the roster?
No team in NBA history has won the title without going through some kind of adversity. Bulls won 6 titles after going through first round second round exits, then always running into the Bad boy Pistons and losing 3 years in a row. According to your logic after the 3rd year the Bulls should have traded Jordan and Pippen so they can rebuild. If the Bulls did that they would have missed out on their 6 championships. The teams that give up and go for rebuild prematurely will most likely never get to the title games. Because they give up way to early and start all over once those trying years begin.
They need to emulate the Thunder not pacers. The Pacers have a clear ceiling bc they built around guys that aren’t great . The Thunder look like a dynasty bc they have elite elite talent they got through drafting high + SGA
Just while we're giving Keyonte some love comparing him to Jamal Murray, let's also, as Jazz fans, try compareing him to Scoot Henderson. The Jazz got a guy at 16 who is nearly identical to the guy who Portland got at 3. How would we be looking at our rookies if we drafted Henderson and Hendricks with the 3 & 9? Because by the numbers that's literally what we got last year. Keyonte is going to be great!

sigh Please lay off the Cooper Flag talk. It will not happen. The Jazz would need to trade away every veteran and win less than 20 games and then the lottery could just screw Utah over. Then what? Tank again? Ask the Piston fans. Losing for years sucks.
My guess is draft Sheppard and cross your fingers that he's really good. Too small you say? This year's playoffs have been dominated by players less than 6'4". Sheppard is 100% a bucket getter in any league.
