>Jayson Tatum on if Cavs defense affected their offense (or if it was more their own execution): “I don’t think so. I think [it was] our spacing. We didn’t have the right spacing enough. On enough possessions. I think when we did attack the rim, collectively as a group, there were a lot of kick-out opportunities that we missed. 41% from the field and 22% from three. It’s a make-or-miss league.”
I kind of agree with Tatum on this. I think we attacked the paint aggressively in the 2nd half when the threes weren’t falling, and we got a lot of free throws. But it couldn’t neutralize the lack of 3pt shooting. We had a bunch of wide open looks but couldn’t make one. It’s hard to win a game in this era when you shoot 22% from three. And you have to tip your hat to Mitchell, he made several in-your-face shots which destroyed our confidence.

I want to see Tatum’s release in the paint rollllllll off his hand. Too many rim-outs like the basketball equivalent of toe-kicking a soccer ball.

It is a make/miss league so you have to play good defense all game in case the shots aren’t falling to give yourself a chance

Ok but that doesn’t excuse the shitty defense and the overall lack of effort and intensity during this game. This statement is just him not taking accountability which just makes me more mad

True and you never make any shots anymore. You just suck now I guess. 🤷♂️

The way Brown talks after a loss compared to Tatum is night and day. Tatum just shrugs everything off, puts off blame and can’t be bothered to care. Brown takes responsibility and wants to be better.

I agree with the make or miss league but hey if you are the first option of the team, at least be consistent, you are inconsistent as hell during the playoff run, like come on man!

What is the narrative if we “make or miss” our way into a championship? We know we’ll outshoot every team 4/7 times. Is it really that heinous of a strategy?

Why should we as fans even bother to watch then? The entitlement and lack of personal accountability on this guy. Man.

I think people on this sub and r/nba genuinely forget that both teams are in the NBA, and have all-NBA caliber players. Mitchell played amazing last night on the offensive side, and adapted well to all of the different looks we through at him. Add in that Levert and Mobley player really well, and none of our shot makers made any shots and yea I’d expect we lose.
Doesn’t change the fact that I still think we are a much better team as a whole and will probably win this series in 5/6 games unless Mobley can really dominate as the best big in the series

yeah I turned it off when they showed the graphic “CLE: 5/7 3pt, BOS: 0/7” and Mitchell drained a 3 while it was on screen
one team was hot and the other was definitely not

All imma say is it’s much easier to defend off a made basket. A few more shots fall and the Cs win
Junito24
Bros been missing for like 6 games straight smh
Steakisforclosers
Every single cavalier player shot 50% or better from the field. Only PP did for the Cs.

I agree that last night mostly just came down to missed shots but I think our rebounding effort is the reason it was a blowout, way too many times there would be 3 celtics staring at a missed shot and a single cav would somehow end up with the ball. Pretty easy fixes for game 3 though.

If it is make or miss, then you need to find other ways to make, not keep trying the ones you miss. Funny though, that it seems to be a team problem. They all missed last night

If you shoot from half court is it a make or miss league, what’s the fg percentage the closer you get to the basket?
