Select Zach Edey with the Number 9 pick and take Hansen Yang in the 2nd round

I feel like the Zach Edey hate is really overstated… I also feel like he wasn’t able to show off the complete player he is… He solves a lot of our problems and could possibly be had later in the 1st and getting off a couple of our end of rotation players (Williams, Konchar maybe Aldama) to get our salary in order….

He isn’t the average Rookie because he spent 4 years in college and we have shown to like those types in the past…. I also think he has a 3 point shot that wasn’t shown much in college as shown in the video below… Also believe he is more agile than people give him credit for because he basically was the whole offense at Purdue and put up massive numbers … Just imagine him being our 5th option going from 1st…

Get Hansen Yang in the 2nd round… I feel like he’s a good project at the 5 with legit playmaking skills, defense, decent mobility and size, good rebounding, soft hands, shooting touch, and able to put the ball on the floor…

We will have a legit four 7+ footers on the roster (if we keep Aldama)

Ah yes infamous mobile, floor-spacing stretch big Zach Edey

We haven’t been shown to like 4 year players just because they’re 4 year players, we’ve liked them because they are jack of all trades types who could shoot, attack the basket, pass, defend and rebound.

Edey is a one dimensional big who doesn’t fit with how we want to play, and he’s not worth taking at 9.

  3. If Clingan doesn’t drop, I’d rather reach for Filipowski here. Ultimate preference is including the pick in a deal for an established big.

I don’t see why they WOULDNT take edey.. ja bane JJJ edey and whoever you put at the 3 that would be a huge hit for us. I think this is nuts to even consider anyone or something else. They could also trade down and possibly end up with more draft capital next year and still land the 7’4. Him and JJJ down low would ruin teams and we don’t need him to be what he was at Purdue. We need him to get boards play D and space the floor. I think you trade the 9 and a rotation player to drop back to the 15-20 range get edey and possibly a 1st rounder next year.

I also think the Edey hate is overstated but he isn’t worth a lottery pick.

NCAA promotion really doing work for Edey.

There are more NBA type and ready players than him

I for one am pro-Edey but no way we use a lottery pick on him. The smart move would be if we actually are wanting him, trade the 9th and some assets for a vet big, and move up to a reasonable spot for Edey if he falls to late first/early second. That way, he is not, as he should not be, our immediate center and would have a chance to learn from whomever we land as our center, and BC. Edey should start as a third string option to vet out whether or not he is serviceable.

  8. Using the 9th on Edey would be nuts. We should just trade the pick and take em later if we’re going to do that.
