Draft Zach Edey? Miami Heat Draft Rumors Via ESPN NBA Mock Draft

The 2024 NBA Draft is just over a month away and the Miami Heat current;y hold the 15th overall pick, which is the first selection after the NBA Lottery. Purdue center Zach Edey is a polarizing NBA Draft prospect, and ESPN’s Jonathan Givony had Pat Riley drafting Zach Edey in the most recent ESPN NBA Mock Draft. Heat Report host Nic Rohloff has been skeptical of Edey’s fit with the Miami Heat, and his ability to play alongside Bam Adebayo. The Miami Heat roster needs to add size behind Bam but is it worth drafting Zach Edey in the 1st round of the NBA Draft? That question gets answered on today’s Miami Heat YouTube video!

Jonathan Givony, ESPN, on the Heat drafting Zach Edey in a 2024 NBA Mock Draft:
“Edey’s positional fit alongside Bam Adebayo would be a topic of discussion in Miami, but his productivity, physicality, intensity and team-culture match would be welcomed by the Heat. Adebayo started to slowly incorporate a 3-point shot into his offensive arsenal late this season and has the type of defensive versatility that could be useful alongside another big. Edey’s offensive rebounding and interior scoring are skills the Heat lack, making him an attractive pick here.”

  1. thanks Rolly, for taking this up you know I’ve been telling everyone that he needs to trap to Zack Edey and move ban to Power forward We need size to compete with Minnesota, Boston, if we don’t draft an elite center or trade for one forget going back to the finals. also who’s going to defend wemby ? edey can

  2. I’m guessing u forgot that we already have jovic to play next to bam. We need a solid SF Tidjane Salaun

  3. Y miami need size the nba is getting bigger, long wings and centers miami needs to develope this kid ,but Size is needed. Can't have Bam banging with these big centers, definitely The Joker isn't the fastest in the bunch and cant jump on a curb, but has made an impact no one saw coming

  4. Yes we are drafting a center or any 7’0 because we’ll need 2 to really buy into what we are about to create

  5. Hey, Rolly. I think Dalton Knecht would be a good fit or at least someone to look into. I feel he fits with Miami well, and I think the Heat system can develop him nicely.

  6. No.. great college-player, no doubt, but thats it. No pace, space and shooting. He is slow, not really athletic and his blocks are coming from camping in the lane. Maybe i am wrong who knows, give these kids a chance but I really dont think he will be a first rounder by anybody.

  7. If he can't play with Bam, he will play backup 7 mins at most as Bam plays 35 mins. per game. What a wasted pick for #15.

Unless Bam can hit 40% from 3s, they can be the frontcourt starters.

  8. If Bam is the "cornerstone, franchise player" then we are doomed. Bam is too stupid or stubborn to expand his game, he is not aggressive and lacks that dawg in him like Jimmy, Wade, Zo, Rio (insert rio joke here 😅). Bam is a #3 guy at best! We need to draft the best player available period! Not the best miami type guy! The guy who has supreme confidence, talent, and not scared of shite!

  9. ESPN is hell bent on making the Heat waste their pick on a fringe role player whose career will not last in the NBA.

  10. Putting Bam at power for we will be a mismatch to a lot of teams, especially with this guy size, and rebound shot blocking ability

  11. Miami Heat draft Zach Edey. Bronny in the 2nd round. He has an amazing wingspan, brings size, blocks, can set screens, guard bigs like Jokic, AD, and does what a big should do. He can learn to defend and the Heat love their shapeshifting zone. Bam can shoot the 3 and he can be there for the rebound. The reason we lost all the 2 finals appearance is small ball. Zach 25 PPG 12 RPG 2 Blocks shooting 60%
