Well, turns out that both Dillingham and Sheppard both measured out to be very small for today's game. They can both shoot, but neither can defend the likes of Doncic or Ant man. Both of whom will be around for a long, long time. But, as noted on PTR, someone mentions Ron Hollands name. He shot very well, sprinted fast in court sprints and shot over 60% on his shooting skills. He is 6' 7" tall and can play the 1, 2, or 3. The thing is he is a defensive beast. Tall, strong, fast and similar to Bruce Bowen and can generate points. I don't see anyone else in the draft that comes close to those stats. They said he can't shoot well. But, he does shoot well and with more instruction, possibly even better than expected. Don't even mention Castle. He only measured at 6'2". A far cry from his boasted 6'6". Plus he didn't shoot well. I believe that Clingan will go top 2 or 3 now. Houston is throwing in their hat for the Cling man. Which means Washington will probably get DC (get it) Washington DC (Donovan Clingan)? Thus Houston will want Risacher once again. It's getting ugly out here, but let's see what happens next. I'd like to see Holland guard Doncic and AE out in the perimeter. RH at the 8th pick for sure.
to me this seems like the 1st international draft. given how people underestimate int players they are also underestimating this draft. 1 or 2 int guys drop like zach and topic would be awesome.
If and when we get Rishacher, it’d be a dream. Wemby and him would be speaking in code (French) calling plays out and the opponents wouldn’t even know what’s being drawn up. 😆😉
Ron Holland a good upside swing at 3 with great defensive potential. Get Ron Holland or Dalton K. at 8 and Risacher at 4 and then get Tyus Jones as free agent to handle the point with his brother this year and await a young veteran high level point guard to become available.
A lot to ponder. Risacher. Defense. Size. 3pt shooting. Clingon. Defense. Size. Rebounding. Buzelas. Defense(effort). Size. Can can create his own shot. Cody Williams. Size. 3pt Shooting. We can let him guard his brother. Drafting a PG would be great. But maybe next year?
Now that Nikola Topic seems injured, I want us to get Zaccharie Risacher at #4. The French Connection! I don’t care about Rob Dillingham. I am intrigued by your suggestion of Stephon Castle at #8.
My Dream is Reed Shepard at 4 Knecht at 8 then trade back into the draft and get Zach Edy. Then the team is set for the future. Playoffs would be a definite.
Unpopular opinion but Buzelis is a nice plan B for the 4th pick if Risacher is no longer available. He can do anything Zach can do and is a better defender. Zach is the more polished offensive player and has more upside but Buzelis is not far behind.
You are over thinking this. 1) There will be a player at the 4th pick who should be able to start next season and be an upgrade. There is no need to trade up, particularly for this draft. My best guess is either Zach of Buzelis. 2) There will be a number of point guards available at the 8th pick. I would favor a larger point guard who can play defense. Who you get in the draft dictates what you look for in a trade. With Wemby, Sochan and Buzelis, you are looking for a veteran point who can facilitate and score. If Zach is in the mix, maybe a point who can distribute and defend. The other option, as I have said before is package the 8th pick as part of a trade to get a younger veteran point.
Those are the options as I see it. Zach, IMHO, is not a must have at 4. Neither is any point in this draft at 8. There are lots of options. There will be lot of mock drafts between now and selection day and the only thing there will be good for is keeping your head spinning. Time to just sit back and see how things play out. Barring the selection of a bust with the 4th pick, SA will likely be fine.
I would take Zaccharie Risacher or Ron Holland at # 4 and Stephon Castle at # 8. I know everyone is in love with Rob Dillingham, but he’s too short and has zero defense.
"The wizards could draft Risacher at 2, we could draft Clingan (or whoever they want) at 4 and then we make a trade that night" I hadn't thought of that, if Spurs really want Risacher, that could be a smart move. But maybe they would want an additionnal future 1st round pick. Or this year's 8th pick. 🤔
Tristan Da Silva is just as good as Risacher and you can get him 13-20 if they use those 2 second round picks and maybe with the 8th pick if they have to, to trade up to snag him. He’s a baller on both ends. You can still have the 4th to get Castle. That is if Buzelis is gone by the time 8 rolls around.
Update: Give the Hawks their pick back for 2025 to snag Sarr. Telling you now with what has happened in the lottery we are not getting Cooper on our own via the hawks pick. Lightning won’t strike twice back to back for the hawks. Accept the fact he ain’t coming to us. End up with Sarr, Buzelis or Da Silva, and Castle or Dillingham. Add Vassell and Wemby to that we win 45 games maybe more.
A lot of scouts calling Zach a bust I want Ron holland Cody Williams stephon castle dalton knecht or Matas buzelis. Have no idea why spurs fans have fallen in love with a 6’1 164 pound guard in Rob dillingham that just ain’t gonna do it
I don’t anyone is gonna be happy with players offered in return for picks in this draft?.. I could be wrong because weird things happen in the NBA..
And because the draft is weak, don’t be surprised if the Rockets go big with the kid from UConn.. High floor defensively, in a division with 2 active and skilled big men..
Really want Rishacher, Topic, and Buzelis. Would be nice to snag Chris Paul as a rental and mentor. Doubt Rishacher slips to 4. Doubt Buzelis slips to 8.
I bet the Suns wish they had the Spur's problem right about now. I thinking a wing or pg but definitely not Clingan. Guys that tall with with that body type are destined to be career back up centers. You can find those on the open market. All that stuff he did in college was against players who, let's be honest, play on great college programs that only have a few players who can barely make the G League, much less the NBA. He'll get eaten alive by today's 3 point shooting centers.
I have 5 scenarios that I can see happening 1 being what I’d like the most 5 the least. 1-Draft Zaccharie at 4 & Rob at 8. 2-Draft Rob at 4 & Matas at 8. 3-Draft Zaccharie at 4 & Nikola at 8. 4-Draft Nikola at 4 & Matas at 8. 5-Reed at 4 & Cody/Dalton/Ron at 8.
Everyone is worried about Topics knee.. like the Spurs wont baby him to health. Really worried about the Rockets trading the 3rd pick and someone else spoiling our 4th spot.. If we trade we need to shop the #2 spot with Washington. Dream scenario would be trade the 8th pick and Keldon Johnson (plus some protected future pick) for the number 2 spot. Seems far fetched but Washington gets talent and future assests and only slips down 6 spots. We would have 2 top 4 picks making sure we land Rishacher and possibly Topic or whomever the brilliant front office wants.

I'd like him at 4, and there's a pretty good chane he may be there! Thanks for watching and GO SPURS GO!

I think we’ll trade #8 to Atlanta for Trae and keep our #4 pick

Spur's somehow get #1 via trade with Hawks lmao😂

Asking for e friend can Ricky Lombardo, Ron Jambo or TSR make free throws and if not be a free throw because I am down for that
I say they need shead
FYI I think it’s pronounced REEZ-UH-SHAI not ri-sah-shai
Zach & Zach
Height across the board
I would take Zaccharie Risacher or Ron Holland at # 4 and Stephon Castle at # 8. I know everyone is in love with Rob Dillingham, but he’s too short and has zero defense.
Dalton Knecht (near 6'6 G, fine 39 inch vertical jump, elite shooter, but 23years old) at #8 or Reed or Rob if one of them is available.
I hope sarr tanked and fake a injury so he can go 4th overall pick.
Risacher will be gone by 4. But that's a good thing imo. Risacher was underwhelming this season and I like Matas Buzelis better anyways. 💯
Risacher is amazing. There’s no way they let him fall to 4 ever.
At 5’9 my wingspan is 6’3
Risacher is going 2 or 3 guaranteed.
Nice now we can be the San Antonio Foreigners 🙄
Maybe the Hawks sigb Edey?😅

Wemby
Sarr
Buzelis/Da Silva
Vassell

Is Dillingham just flashy or can he actually run an offensive. Same question people have about Trae Young

No to rob no to Topic
Im not big on Dillingham. That's one pick i hope the Spurs don't pick. A backup point guard concerns me. Nothing checks the box for me on Rob.
Topic and Sheppard, my choice. Yeah his knee, but if he's okayish he's my pick.
Really want Rishacher, Topic, and Buzelis. Would be nice to snag Chris Paul as a rental and mentor. Doubt Rishacher slips to 4. Doubt Buzelis slips to 8.
