Or he signs a 1+1 minimum deal with Dallas (player option for second year) this gives Dallas his bird rights next season where they can sign him to longer term deal over the cap. Depends if he trusts Nico I suppose. Bobby Portis did it with the Bucks.

It’s critical that they get him locked up for next season and beyond. It would be very, very difficult to find someone to replace everything he does, especially for the bargain he commanded this year. I have a feeling that he’ll be happy to return if the Mavs can somehow clear the space to offer him the 12.9m MLE, even if other teams offer more than that.

It’s critical that they get him locked up for next season and beyond.
