[Charania] The Mitchell situation will be resolved this summer, and there is a growing sentiment around the league that the Cavaliers will be able to position themselves to receive his commitment for a lucrative contract extension that would keep him in Cleveland.
As long as we land one of their guards, I will be happy

Mitchell has been pretty hell bent on staying in Cleveland. He did want NYC at first but I think he fell in love with CLE. Plus he gets to be the man there compare to sharing spotlight with other stars.

Good. Trading for Mitchell will just be the Westbrook trade all over again but on a much bigger scale

Also from the article:
> Furthermore, rival executives believe the Cavs will have to seriously evaluate the fit of Mitchell and Garland and ultimately may have to choose one or the other. Should Mitchell decide to stay long term, sources briefed on the matter say Garland’s representation, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, would have a conversation with Cavs officials on potentially finding a new home for the one-time All-Star.

Hmm I guess now we wait to see if Donovan forces the issue? Wonder what Cavs fans think

Cavs have a chance to really improve the fit around Mitchell and Mobley if they decide to move Garland / Allen. I could see them letting Mitchell have a say in the trades and coaching decision this summer

is this from Cleveland FO or Mitchell’s agent?

Good. Giving up role players for another star is stupid.

If Mitchell wanted to stay, why hasn’t he signed an extension yet? I’m confused on that.

What happened to all those reports of him considering leaving only for this to immediately come out?

It sounds like Garland is the target for us then, a Klutch client, and also would be less than Spida to get him
