Just a really bad game. Minnesota did their thing for sure but this was one of the worst games I’ve seen this team shoot in the Jokic era.

Really puts into perspective how many open looks we had. I feel like Minnesota was hitting everything even though their percentage wasn’t great too. Weird game. Hopefully shooting variance leans toward us next game

This is the last thing I want a compilation of

My theory, which I refuse to shut the f up about until someone confirms their shooting practice locations immediately before game 6 so I can put it to rest:

    >We practically had the same amount of FG and 3pt attempts for both teams. Shitty shooting was the main culprit and I still want to explore this crazy hypothesis that the Nuggets altered their practice session routine before game 6, only practicing in Denver the night before and not in Minneapolis, thus unable to get to used to the slight altitude adjustment.

    >Note that it doesn’t swing both ways. As I said in my earlier comment, the issue isn’t as much of a problem when you’re going from low to high altitude, but much more when you’re going from high to low. It you think about it, if you shoot with the same amount of force going from sea level to 6000 feet, the ball will go a little higher but probably still make it in. Whereas if you’re at 6000 feet and used to using slightly less force at altitude, you may not be aiming high enough when you get to sea level, and you’ll hit the rim.

    >There are a ccouple of studies on this if you google altitude and basketball. (Not the ones about conditioning
but the ones about actual effect on trajectories.) Here’s one which brings up the issue though is currently inconclusive: https://harvardsportsanalysis.wordpress.com/2011/05/18/does-altitude-affect-free-throw-percentage/

    >What’s crazy is how everyone is ok with superstition like not letting AG eat with them but not look into stuff like this.

Yep this is exactly what I saw all first half. Our offense was operating alright for the most part, got a lot of open looks and just completely bricked them. They continued to sag off because we were just shooting trash all night, which in turn clogged the paint.

If we make even 4 of these 16 misses, the offense opens up the inside a little bit to operate cleaner, but we build a brick house, we’re going to be fighting all night.

The real story is 35% on open 3’s in the postseason. This team has been absolute ass in the postseason shooting the ball
