Pacers win! – JJ Redick on Pascal Siakam 25 Pts to beat Knicks 116-103, force series to Game 7

Mike thank you very much Shay and Zub been with you here on Sports Center so much to get to I mean a ton over the next couple of hours the second anyone steps to the podium Carlile tibs the Nova Knicks what’s the latest condition of Josh Hart will’ll Have It All For You The One and Only Stephen A Smith and the countdown crew here to offer their thoughts on game six look ahead to game seven and we’ve got so many reporters and analysts live that’ll join us on the floor from gamebridge Fieldhouse that’s all coming up as we’re with you till 1 a.m. eastern home court holds again from the Pacers perspective to force a game seven their 10th game seven in franchise history first since 18 against the Cavs when LeBron dropped 45 to clinch the series against them that was 6 years ago historically the Pacers three and six in game sevens with their last win 2014 against the Hawks that’s the last time they got out of the first round one of those three though the 95 conference semis against the Knicks is in the garden which Mike referenced at the end of the broadcast this will be the eighth time a game seven is played in Madison Square Garden the first time since that aforementioned 95 Nicks Pacers series finale which the three were talking about that was more than 10,000 days ago the Knicks have won five of those previous seven on their home floor and considering the home team has won every game of this series so far if you’re a Knicks fan in Crest balling tonight that’s going to good feel good for you bad news for the pace they’ve lost five of their six Road games this postseason including 0 and three in the garden this series the Knicks have scored over 120 in all three games at home including a 30-point win in game five the Pacers have been perfect all postseason at home but they’re going to have to get it done on the road as Mike said what a Sunday we’ve gotten for you winner go home Pacers Nicks 3:30 Eastern on your local ABC station and then the wolves on the 20th anniversary to the day of the only other game seven they have ever played Kevin Garnett’s birthday no less they will take on the Denver Nuggets if you’re a Hoops fan you’re at Hoops Heaven on Sunday pleasure to welcome in hey DB and hey JJ dorisburg and JJ reic they just called the game they’re headed with Mike to New York on Sunday thanks for spending a couple moments here on Sports Center with us tonight DB let’s start with you here first blush biggest takeaway from the game that saved the Pacers season and forced the game seven just their level of fight and disposition I mean Rick Carlile said it Zubin and first of all I just love your enthusiasm for this league and those highlights but Rick Carlile said it you know they were embarrassed they were manhandled in game six and of course Jaylen had the 44o explosion but from the outset Miles Turner was finding the body of hartenstein and keeping him off the offensive glass hartenstein didn’t even reach double digits to me it was about effort and intensity and defensive disposition how many times do we see them push up in full court pressure full 94 ft I just love the fight from them tonight and look for me it’s it’s it’s about identity you know when I think about game five that felt like a Knicks identity win tonight with their backs against the wall a test of character for the Indiana Pacers and this was an identity win for them pushing the pace constant ball movement sharing the basketball pass kelakam got it going Tyrese hurn was aggressive at times their bench TJ McConnell Obi TOA just the balance from the Indiana Pacers that looked like the team that is now one win away from the Conference Finals you don’t get to this point in the season without having an identity and so for game seven whose identity will win out that is the big question again we’ll find out on your local ABC station Sunday 3:30 p.m. Eastern those 2 and Mike Breen will be on the call speaking of identity JJ let’s talk about the identity here let’s start with you on this one for a game seven I look this up you started six game sevens in your career started every one played Major minutes in every one we’re about 40 hours away from the biggest game take seaka out because you want a title but every one of the rest of these guys this is the biggest NBA game they’ve ever played to dat take me inside the mindset of a player and I don’t know maybe a future head coach on what this might mean look as an athlete there’s nothing better than a game seven except maybe a 7:30 tea time at Cyprus you know the intensity uh you get to this point in a series and we saw it a little bit tonight at the end of the first half with n har nart and d chenzo right getting into it a little bit Zach Zara had warned nart he gets the technical you get to this point in the series there is an annoyance with your opponent you you don’t like going toe to toe Square to Square against who’s ever on the other side and so the intensity the will those things it’s what Rick T touched on it’s what Doris just talked about certainly got to put the ball in the basket but whose will will win out in game seven that is the question last one for you both here and this is sort of a macro look this series as you guys well know has been won by the home team which bodess well for the next heading to game seven every other conference semi-final series DB and JJ DB let’s start with you here we have seen the road team come in and in some cases annihilate the home team in all the other conference semis what is it about this series Doris that it’s just literally been home sweet home I think for the Pacers in particular you have a a rookie Point not a rookie point guard but a a point guard who’s leading a team for the first time he’s trying to strike that incredible balance between being aggressive as a score which was when the Pacers are at their best when he’s taking north of 15 shots the record speaks for itself but also he’s an incredible passer led the NBA and assist but nard and N Smith all three of their backcourt guys are going through this collectively for the first time the Knicks have a little bit more experience uh but to me like it’s been incredible to watch the Pacers to difference home and away and their defensive disposition and look some of that is energy right the energy created from your home crowd you know we’ve called three games here in this series this crowd is incredible certainly the garden crowd is incredible and I think for the Knicks you know going on the road having to travel not sleeping in your own bed this is a team who has battled injuries since January 1st they’re they’re banged up Jaylen Brunson Josh Hart like there is a toll to all of this there’s a toll to the intensity of playoff basketball there’s a toll to playing every other game and having every single possession matter so the home court and the home crowd that can make a difference once again Sunday 3:30 p.m. Eastern to advance the Celtics awaited could be a garden party TD and MSG the Knicks won their two titles in a span of four years but for the last half century it’s been empty and for the last quarter Century they haven’t even made the Eastern Conference Finals that could change with Mike DB and JJ in the house Sunday afternoon guys thanks very much look forward to seeing you Sunday thank you thanks zuben and so the Pacers force a game seven as Zubin said we’ll see it on Sunday but how did they get there you ask well let’s show you remember the Knicks LED after the first quarter and then it was really all Pacers so that’s what you’re going to see a lot of here there’s Jaylen Brunson slow to start pick it up second quarter Pacers up five that’s Pascal cakam Fade Away jumper Pacers up seven next possession same score SE yakum for Miles Turner who just throws it down and now the lead is 10 at the break what would happen in the second half you asked Pacers up eight halberton triple all day long Pacers now up 11 feeling good cuz they’ve been here for post the game later in the third Pacers up 15 Halle Burton step back that’s a long two foot on the line Pacers lead by 17 fourth quarter now Pacers up 18 OB top and former Nick showing them what’s up right over Isaiah hartenstein Pacers Hold On To Win It 116 103 really it was theirs from jump Jaylen Brunson knew it and so now we’ll see what will happen in a game seven so the Pacers stay perfect at home now six and0 this postseason it’s the fifth time they’ve won their first six home games of the playoffs each of the previous four instances they would go on to reach the Conference Finals so what’s going to happen on Sunday you ask let’s check in with the countdown crew here’s Malika Andrews and Company with more on what they saw tonight in game six yeah before we turn the page V for e h [Music] no ESC First Blood Bast an ally has been defeated [Music] what h your team has destroyed a tower an ally has been defeated go Escape you have defeated an enemy double kill was unexpected nowhere you have been defeated enemy double kill for e [Laughter] you’ll remember me when I’m done with you [Music]
