24 NBA Draft Lottery Reaction | Spurs 24 NBA Draft Preview | San Antonio Spurs | Rob Trejo Jr

now what my expectations are is like dude I have no idea and things got so interesting so fast uh on Sunday afternoon um first off with the two picks now I think a route most likely to to kind of expect from the Spurs is a route where they keep both picks they keep them on the rookie scales they got two guys that are going to be in the gym for the next four or five years two Lottery type players and they try to maximize them over the next two to three seasons to try to build around wiim Bama and I just think that’s the most spury thing to do so that’s just what I feel like they’ll do um another option is that they end up looking to trade one of the two picks um you know we’re talking about Trey young you know Tu are going to heat up with Atlanta that’s kind of what I feel like is going to happen too I I just feel like it’s inevitable for something to happen in this draft with with Atlanta and San Antonio in terms of maybe swapping picks um maybe letting go of our eighth pick uh uh for for one of their players the eighth pick plus one of their own picks from the P right we have plenty of Atlanta picks we have three over the next three years we have a pick a swap and another pick over the next three years so I’m sure Atlanta might want to do something with that now that they have the number one pick you know maybe Trey young is kind of open you know maybe is on the market Deonte Murray obviously they were both kind of in the rumors last offseason or last uh trade deadline that a lot of teams were were in conversations about those guys so I mean who knows who knows what what Atlanta’s plans are but it it could be intertwined with what our plans are you know what I mean so you know we’ll have to see how that shakes out but um I don’t really kind of foresee the Spurs opting to trade uh any of these picks you know I I think having the the fourth and the eighth pick is is a special opportunity to kind of tackle as organization I think of you’re looking at these two sets of players that might be available I think there’s a couple of uh there’s a couple of of combinations of of of those guys that are really interesting so I’ll be getting into uh more of more on these players uh as the draft kind of approaches I’ll be I’ll be talking about um who who fits best and who maybe has the highest potential um and I’ll do a couple mock drafts as well probably end up doing two or three mock drafts by the time the the actual draft comes around so um one thing that we know for sure is that this is awesome this is just an awesome situation to be in for the Spurs to have two picks and you know they can control their Destiny with these two picks um you know or if if the Spurs are in the mindset to to look at Trey young I think that’s super interesting too I mean if you ask me it makes so much sense except for the one thing of like it just doesn’t fit the Spurs kind of Mo right their motto like it’s just not really what they do Trey young is a perfect fit next to wimy but is he a perfect fit in the organization and I think those two things have to line up in order for that kind of vision to play out and I don’t know what they’re saying in in the office over there but that would be interesting to to kind of be a part of those conversations um dejonte Murray I love dejonte but I think that’s a kind of like a hard pass for me right now I think he’s he’s he’s off to like a different chapter in his career and I I feel coming back to San Antonio is is is just kind of like a step backwards for both of us for him and and us um and he’s doing great he had a great season this season so you know good for him I wish him all the best I just don’t think that you know it’s it’s it’s a good fit either it just doesn’t really make too much sense um for the D part so you know we’ll see with the with the Spurs brass are are cooking up um you know one thing’s for sure you know they’re going to do their due their due diligence every single step of the way you know that they’re going to evaluate interview um and get to know all these players and that’s the part that we miss like the part that I’m missing out on on all this is like I can go and look at their tape I can look at their measurements I can try to see some things that are that stick out as as uh as you know big big big things we need to keep our eye on on why this player can fit well with the Spurs but what really matters is their character you know their their work ethic you know what their coaches say about them what the player ex teammates say about them but their parents and and family members say about them you know all those things matter um some just as equally as you know their physical attributes which are also a big a big component to valuation too us like I think the Spurs like to get guys that have a a long road of like physical development potential like either that’s growing athletic or or or whatever um they like these guys who can really really shape up in the next two or three years and and and become athletic monsters on the defensive end I think that’s a priority as well that we’ve seen over the past few drafts um you know so all that stuff matters uh not just on how they played in the offseason so that that’s all the stuff that they’ll know that we don’t know um at this point so you know all that being said it’s going to be a great uh draft this has been your Spurs preview this is what we can expect over the next few weeks you know we’ll keep an eye out for the combine we’ll keep an eye out for for any interviews that the Spurs are are are conducting with any of these players to try to give us more insight on what they’re doing or what their where their mindset is like

Will the Spurs vier from the way of drafting and developing or trade for a superstar now?

The 2024 NBA Lottery has taken place and shaped the future of the NBA Draft. For the San Antonio Spurs, they walked away with the 4th and 8th pick of this years NBA Draft. On this episode we will preview the potential players that might be available at these picks and I will also give my thoughts on how the Atlanta Hawks securing the #1 pick might impact the Spurs game plan.

  1. It would be a real spurs move to get more first round picks for the future by trading 8 and moving back too. Best part is no matter what they do with the picks they can go over the cap to sign them. Can they move both second rounders to offload collins? Then waive graham and you have a boat load of cap space bc his contract isn’t guaranteed. Then you don’t have to move Johnson.

  2. Yeah highly doubt trae young will be a spur without yall giving up a haul. Also I don’t see Rob dillingham fiting with the spurs for multiple reasons, biggest reason is Rob don’t fit Pops play style. I could see yall getting one of the French men and Dalton Knecht

  3. Spurs will be drafting either Risarcher, Reed or Castle at 4.
At 8 they will choose Matas, Holland, Williams, Knecht, Clingan…whoever falls.

  4. The spurs can trade the chicago pick from next year ( top ten protected ) for Chicagos pick this year #11. Giving us the 4 / 8 / 11 ; giving them the 48 pick this year.

  5. Whats everyone thoughts about the two second round picks we also have in this draft, pick 35 and 48 (via LAL). I feel like it is not likely we bring in 4 rookies this year, packaging them might get a late first but im not sure with this draft if teams find that worth it. We could trade one of of them for a future pick down the line like already did that last year and with the Leonard Miller pick.

  6. Spurs need to draft either Risacher or Buzelis with the 4th and Cody Williams or Castle with the 8th pick 💪

  7. the spurs need a good point guard that can shoot threes, pass/assist the ball, cut inside and play maker at 4, then spurs need a back up center that can shoot outside and rebound and banger inside like Clingan to match jokic, valuncianas, nurkic, Zion, and a wing on the second round pick…release/trade Collins, Graham
