Indiana Pacers Postgame Media Availability vs. New York Knicks (Game 6) | May 17, 2024
Rick what did you see from Pascal that kind of helped him get going and helped you guys in turn get going as a team uh it was just activity you know we we played harder tonight which was which was a must um they came out really hard too that was evident um you know we we we moved the ball better and we got more rebounds and I think you know we we uh we we we out rebounded him and that’s that’s obviously a big key to the series you’ve been in several of them but what’s different about game sevens and how do you have to get your team ready for it differently than other games in a series well it’s it’s the ultimate game and this is a it’s a great opportunity um you know other than Pascal I don’t know if any of our guys have been in a game seven maybe James Johnson has um this team’s been through a lot of new experiences over the last three and a half weeks and this will be another new one and so we’ll um we’ll do everything possible to get them ready um but it’s you know it in game sevens it comes down to compete level and you know how well you’re tied together you obviously mentioned the rebounding differential you guys was 47 to 35 62 to 38 in the pain I mean did it seemed like basically everything that you sort of didn’t get in game five and you kind of De demanded afterwards is sort of what you got from these guys do you feel like they responded in every way that you were looking for well they’re they’re both aggression stats and so you know we we needed to do better in the aggression Department um you know game five in New York was you game five Milwaukee was tough but game five in New York was I would have to say our least our lowest aggression game of the entire playoffs and so you know we didn’t have a very fun fil film session yesterday watching it um but you know you go through these ups and downs and it’s you know young teams are going to grow so we’ll find out we’ll find out how much on Sunday you kind of touched on it before but you guys got excuse me you got Pascal kind of for games like this just how important was having a veteran presence like his when the game could be getting kind of frenetic particularly in the first half look he’s a he’s a tremendous player you know we we got him uh because we wanted to make the playoffs and and be able to advance in the playoffs but we’re also building something that you know we’re we’re we’re trying we’re trying to build something special here and we think he’s a a special person along with being a special player so um you know tonight in the second half there were there were some possessions where you know he’s the only guy on our roster that can uh manufacture you know a 16ft shot over a 7 foot guy and and and make it you know and he did it three or four times you know in the third and fourth quarter so so um yeah but listen if in a series like this you can’t sit around patting yourself on the back I mean that’s what gets your ass kicked the next game so you know we’re going to keep our celebrations very short if at all after this game and and get ready for for Sunday afternoon coach uh when your team was had the lead cut to five early in the third quarter you called a timeout um after they went on that 80 or whatever it was when you come out you get a couple big shots Tyrese hits a three what was the message that you were preaching to your team during that timeout to get things turned around well you know if you count the three at the very end of the half and then the technical thing I mean they they scored it was like an 80 run in about a minute and a half you know so um that’s how quickly things can change in an NBA game you know no matter where you are whether you’re home or whether they on the road so um I didn’t have to say much you know the guys in the guys in the Huddle um came together and they said you know we got to make a stand and we got to we got to go on a run here and and I think we hit a couple threes and and we got things we got things back to where we needed to get them so um so you know that was that was an important point of the game yes uh during that stretch I think Aaron tips an offensive rebound keeps it alive just what has his physicality on both sides of the floor meant to you guys in this series I mean this series is all about physical so you know we need we’ll take physical anything from anybody so you know he that was a great play that he made he he had a couple you know great loose ball plays and you know um those are those are the areas we fell very much fell short in game five and we’re going to have to do way better in game seven Rick how do you see uh tyres just managed the game tonight and how much do you think he’s yearned for these moments to just be in the playoffs be in a game seven things like that yeah you know I I believe that he understands you know what a special privilege it is to play in the playoffs to advance to play in the semifinals and and be able to play in a game seven on Sunday you know I think he has a a sense of History he’s a guy that that studies the game and so his aggression you know throughout the game was key because even when he wasn’t scoring it was it was leading to other good things for us he obviously got going a little bit in the end but you know guys out Brunson into two of 13 shooting in the first half what do you like about just the force that sort of everybody brought to that uh matchup obviously more than one guy but what did you like about just how you guys defended him um he ended up with 31 points so I don’t you know I’m not going to celebrate you know something that happened for you know one half of a game I mean look this guy this guy is doing some historic stuff in the playoffs and you know he went on a crazy run the last three minutes he was in there hit two or three threes and you know got fouled once or something you know so um there’s no there’s no resting on him there’s no feeling good about anything with him you know know it’s it’s just it’s a it’s a it’s an endless task you know when you face a player like him in a series like this so we got a brace for we got a brace for Sunday you know we know the kind of effort he’s going to bring on Sunday we know the kind of effort they’re going to bring on Sunday um and and and we we must we must be ready game seven uh what is that mean to you um you’ve longed to be in the playoffs throughout your career so after you force it what’s going through your mind right now uh just excited excited to get the opportunity uh it’s you know now it’s a one game series and um you know it’s for all the marbles and um you know I think it’s kind of we better to to have a game seven than the garden you know so I’m really excited about it our group’s excited to get the opportunity to compete um we haven’t won a game there yet no no teams won a game on the road in this series so um you know we got to be ready to go from start to finish for 48 minutes and then how do you think you’ve grown throughout this series just as far as figuring out okay pick my spots who I am as a player things like that and how can you maybe just know who you are in game seven yeah just you know I think just using the experience from every game on a game to game basis uh there’s been some different circumstances every game in terms of you know how the game’s flowing you know how many shots I’m shooting who’s who’s defending me um you know there’s been some different circumstances throughout the the series so uh just trying to you know use all those put all them in my toolbox and um you know use it to the best of my ability going into games Heaven what was the film session after game five like um I think coaches challenged our effort I think that was the biggest thing um we had some boneheaded things happen offensively turnovers and that hasn’t really H that hasn’t done hurt us at all the playoffs but I think when you go back and look at game five like the majority of everything that affected us was rebounding the basketball a lot of their points were off Second Chance um and then they kept rebounding the ball that didn’t allow us to play in transition so that affected our offense too at the same time so I think when you go back and look at game five you just really look at the rebounding and I think it’s there’s like the CH I mean it looks like you know the challeng is on Miles because it’s like you know rebounds typically you know what bigs do but I would say that it’s more I think the challenge was put more on us surrounding him you know to to to help him um come down and do what we can on our guards to come down and rebound um you know hernstein likes to tip out a lot so we got to box our guys out be at the free throw line be ready to get it if our guy doesn’t crash we got to go and and and help um you know sand the big I think just trying to understand where we can where we can be better and I think that that when miles knows that we got his back on to rebound I think he feels more confident there so I think he just really challenged our group you know one through 15 one through 18 um how can we be better and just play harder for 48 minutes then the timeout that was called right at the start of the second half it seemed like it was a really key moment you guys rallied out of that what was that timeout like on the bench yeah I think um when you go back and look at game five you know I think coach did a great job of calling some timeouts to kind of you know nip their runs in the bud and and um you know I thought we did a bad job of just you know coming together I felt like it like I talked about after the game it was like a little frantic you know what I mean I don’t know if that was because we’re on the road and you know whatever that whatever the case is but I thought that that’s part of the maturation of this group is just coming together and responding the right way and we didn’t start the third quarter the right way um if you you know count the three that they hit you know before the uh if you count the three they hit before halftime they really want like 80 run there and we had to figure out what we were going to do we made some shots uh da had a big tip out that led to a three for me and um I think just you know figuring out how we can be better and um just you know maintain a sense of urgency and not not panicking but I think urgency over panicking those are two very different things and I think we got to do that uh Tyrese you mentioned it before a game seven at the Garden this is one of the biggest opportunities a player has in his career one of the biggest audiences really the biggest that will ever watch you play so far in your career can you just speak to what it means to have this opportunity to showcase yourself and your team in front of such a big National audience um it’s just exciting it’s exciting for us a lot of us you know a lot of us is our first playoff experience let alone first game seven you know what I mean so I think we’re all excited about it um we got to be ready to go for 48 minutes like you know the the garden is an unbelievable environment um you know and the crowd will be Rowdy and um know we just haven’t won there yet so we got to prove that we’re able to do that and um I think it starts on the defensive side being able to rebound the ball so that we can get out and run and things like that but um I’m really excited about the opportunity you know I think that you know when you’re a young upand cominging team it’s easy to be like man we’re never on TV people never get to see us play well you got to earn it and I think we’re on on our way to doing that by winning a first- round series but you know you can continue to do that by winning this series and you know hopefully playing Eastern Conference Finals so that stuff’s earned not given and we got to um you know prove that we deserve that that that Spotlight to be able to do that Tyrese you mentioned how a lot of you guys have never been in the playoffs before um Pascal has he was big tonight can you mention kind of what his presence has meant um throughout this series um for you guys and kind of leading you through this series yeah think just you know composure um I think what P does I mean having played in so many playoff series is he he never gets too high and never gets too low you know I think he does a good job of you know Gathering our group when when we’re excited and things are going well and does a good job of gathering our group when things aren’t going well and um we’re frustrated and you know there start to be some splits and dudes are you know more consumed about you know what happened in the past rather than how we we can change it moving forward so um you know I think his experience his Poise has helped a lot along with our coaching staff and and other guys who have been in this so um he was huge for us getting a lot of early seals um re helping rebound the ball uh I thought he just played you know one of his better overall games in a Pacers uniform and uh what a great time to do it and so I’m really excited going to game seven we have a good Rhythm Tyrese you mentioned you got to stay aggressive that was something you talked about a lot between game five and game six what’s the key to keeping up that aggressiveness in game seven and how do you maintain it even if things are not going well in game seven as they often can be in the garden yeah I mean I got nothing to lose you know what I mean like I think just going into it um you realizing you know it’s time you got unload the clip you feel me like it’s you gotta be ready to go from start to finish and um aggressive doesn’t mean shooting 30 shots aggressive means you know being a threat getting downhill getting two feet in the paint is kind of the old school way of thinking um so it doesn’t I mean I’m not really a box score watcher I I watch the game you know what I mean I watch a lot of film to understand like how where can I be better and so I don’t really trip off of field goal attempts like yeah there has been a correlation you know directly around my field goal attempts and win and loss but it’s not about that for me it’s can get two feet in the paint and and um you know draw help and do other things so I don’t really trip off the The Box SC or anything like that I just you know how can I be aggressive and I think that um you know my teammates and coaching staff have done a great job of staying on me and um you know game seven is going to be unbelievable environment and something I’m really looking forward to I mean as a competitor what more could you want Ty you mentioned getting two feet in the paint uh one of the bigger plays in that second quarter is the big dunk for Miles which comes off of Pascal’s ceiling Baseline and finding him there just what did it mean for those two guys to do everything they could to get on top of the rim tonight yeah yeah I thought they just did a great job you know having their presence at The Rim offensively um you know I think but when we can when we’re able to rebound you know they crash Five Guys so or sometime you know four most the time jaylen’s not crashing but if we can rebound and get out and run that allows us to get our early seals um we really being on our bigs more to you know get on the rim as much as they can you know just to have that presence and then once we’re on the rim we can start to pull them out and shoot the three well which we you know typically do so I think that those guys did a great job Pascal setting the tone miles had a big dunk there early in the first quarter that got him going um but the more of that we can just get some Rim pressure and it’s not always you know driving and getting layup it’s just their their presence of posting and getting out and posting and things like that so I I thought they did a great job setting the tone Tyrese how’d you feel like you guys guarded Brunson tonight I think he was two for 13 in the first half ends up I think with 31 and Coach Carlos said it’s it’s Relentless with him endless uh you what he does but how’ you guys how you feel like you guys did on him tonight I thought we did a good job um you know I thought dou a did a really good job of showing his hands um I thought our you know they they hunted a lot in game five put me in a lot of action I thought I did a better job of you know being in shows and getting back to mind and getting to the gaps um I thought we did a great job of not fouling and finishing possessions which has been the biggest thing and um yeah Jaylen is Relentless getting downhill he’s an unbelievable player um you just got to show your hands as much as you can give them different looks when you can um and finish possessions with rebounds because they really capitalize on offensive rebounds kickouts and things like that but um I think for the most part we did a good job Ty Tyrese um Rick mentioned the film session and then you said he challenged you guys’ effort how where did this Edge come from that you guys showed up with tonight is it as simple as the the film session being ugly or what I don’t know if it’s as much as that as much as it is just like dudes don’t want to go home you know what I mean like we had to come out and play desperate I think when you’re in the playoffs they always talk about you know the more desperate team is typically the team that wins and us being down 3-2 the pressure was on us you know what I mean they know they we got to go back to their garden and win um but we had to come out and just play harder for 48 minutes and I think we got to maintain that going into game seven um but I think as a group there was never a conversation or a thought that our season would be done today um we got to understand that you know we’re going to take care of we understood that you know if we came to play the right way today we’d take care of business but you know we know we got a big game coming on Sunday and um you know everybody’s got to be ready to go Ty how do you anticipate a game seven feeling compared to anything you’ve ever played in in your life uh I expect probably the most unbelievable environment I’ve ever played in an NBA game um you know the garden is is a is a crazy place with you know they got a rabid fan base um and so I’m I’m I’m excited about it I’m excited about being on the road and um doing something that we haven’t done this series trying to win a game on the road you know I’m I’m really excited about that um we know the storyed history of of this rivalry between these two franchises and now we’re adding another you know another chapter to that so you know I think we’re all excited to go um there’s to be a lot of energy in the building um from them and from us and uh I think just you know weathering our emotions as much as we can you know don’t get too high don’t get too low uh it’s going to be a game of runs you know and and I mean historically me as a basketball Watcher game sevens are always so ugly so I expect an ugly game and I expect whoever plays harder to win and uh I’m excited to be a part of that Pascal obviously you had a know pretty good night tonight they they made that trade earlier for you to have moments like this so how does it feel to sort of make good on that and validate the trade no no it feels good I mean obviously being part of the team um feels like feels like a w now but um yeah just happy to be here um the support from everyone um obviously after the game we had just wanted to respond as a team and I thought we did that well tonight and um yeah no like I’m I’m I’m happy to be part of this team and and just want to you know keep going and and um hopefully you know we we get a win um on Sunday you were part of one of the craziest game sevens ever so what advice do you give to a group that maybe hasn’t experienced that level of of competitiveness and just that that level of uh going at it yeah no I mean it’s going to take everything um a lot a lot of crazy stuff is going to happen um just got to stay you know within what we do um and and you know as long as you come in to the game you know with kind of pure energy and just um playing as hard as you can um staying together I think I think that’s the most important and again we’re going on the road so there’s going to be things that’s going to happen that you know for us might might not you know like be things that we expect or whatever and and there’s going to be crowds and you know it’s going to be a lot of things we just got to manage it stay together um I think that’s that’s the main thing that I be preaching to the guys just um you know bring your energy and and bring everything you got and whenever things are not going well just stay together and and continue to fight Pascal the changer starting five and that’s giving you different matchups these last two games what has that kind of allowed you to do or do differently against them um no I just try to play my game like to be honest like um I think the way we play is just I mean it doesn’t really matter like I just got to continue to play my game um no matter what what’s happening on the other side and that’s that’s what I try to do multiple of them and Tai said they’re ugly but what is so different about game sevens compared to any other game you’ve played in before oh I mean it’s it’s like gritty you know like it’s both teams are going to play hard like it’s going to be um it’s going to be hard like you know some things you know he might not make a shot whatever like it’s a lot of things that’s going to happen and and I think as long as you just kind of stay focused within the game plan and and just play with with energy I think the hardest playing Team usually like win those games um so that should be our Focus Pascal earlier in the playoffs your free throw shooting you looks like you were struggling there but lately your free throw shooting is improved there shots going down at the line what’s changed has it been mechanics is it is it mentality what what’s changed there for you nothing um nothing uh Pascal um you’ve talked about energy a lot throughout this um someone who kind of embodies energy is TJ McConnell can you he was big again tonight even had the crowd chanting his name for a while can you kind of speak to to TJ and and what he’s brought throughout this series um for this team yeah TJ is a rock he’s a rock star you know um just his energy the way he plays the game um obviously you know being here in India like you know the home crowd you know love him and we love him um I just think that once you know he comes in with with the pace and you know pressure and the other the other guards and um he just makes our team so much better I think obviously we have tyres like coming in with the pace and and once you know we get to the bench he doesn’t drop so like I think like TJ is a big part of that because you know he’s just bring the pace and um that’s something we want to do so uh he’s a huge part of that and um yeah and when when he’s rolling like that and playing fast I Tim is so much better TJ do you remember your game seven you were part of with Philly and what’s different about those games compared to to everything else you’ve been in do I remember kawhai hitting that shot you didn’t play the game but I’m curious what you remember about besides that um it’s one of those things where the team that you know exerts the most energy and plays do exhaustion comes out on top and it’s winner go home um it’s something I I feel like every player plays for a game seven and excited for the opportunity but um um we have to be more dialed in than I think any of us have ever been before you guys obviously come back and win the rebounding battle 4735 seemed like everything that was a problem in game five you guys managed to turn around just would impress you about this the overall response that you guys had um in this game to the issues you had in game five yeah I mean the game game five was was an embarrassment I think on all fronts from all of us and um just made a concerted effort um you know credit to Miles and and The Bigs and and just the entire group of you know coming together and being mature about it and knowing what we need to fix and going out there and fix it and we have to kind of you know do the same thing here in game seven can’t take our foot off the gas whatsoever yesterday Rick dropped two F bombs on us uh he he mentioned that that film session wasn’t a whole lot of fun for you guys um just what was that kind of like just having him kind of bring the level up and let you guys know kind of what you needed um I mean we deserved every every bit of it um after watching um the film it was you know kind of disgusting to see um you know you thought it was bad but then when you rewatch it it it’s it’s even worse so um you know it’s tried to flush that one and and you know come out and like I said have a concerted effort on things we needed to be better at and we did and we just have to kind of put the same kind of effort um for a game seven uh Pascal in that second quarter kind of got going and it was a lot in the post and kind of taking advantage of his size and cality just what do you like from him and his Force tonight I mean he didn’t force anything he just kind of let the game come to him and um I mean he just a special player um when we traded for him was I think for moments that he’s like he’s had here um going to get us a bucket when we really need it um and just bringing a different Dynamic to this team and he’s been incredible TJ what feels different about you know’ been there for a number of years now but what feel different about when tyres got first got here to Pascal getting here till now being you know for you wonder G um you know coming here and you know it was Co and we made the playoffs and then play in the next year and then we didn’t make the playoffs until obviously this year um I feel like from just like a culture standpoint um you know bringing in Rick and um you know trading for Tyrese um kind of building this thing up and it’s just a really good group um one that really loves to run and um we just got great great guys in here so from a culture standpoint it doesn’t get much better um you know credit to Rick and his staff and um KP in the front office um for you know kind of building that and you know credit to everyone in here for kind of playing the way we do and playing the right way um you know it’s it’s a fun fun style but um you know it’s got to be you know a different type of energy when we go Madison sare guard for game seven you guys held Jaylen to Five Points in the first half on two of 13 obviously gets going at the end there and it’s at 31 but what did you guys like about just the force and physicality you brought to that much match up on individual level but obviously you know everybody’s got to defend him so no I mean it’s it’s a group effort um you’re not going to shut a guy like that down I’ve said it all serious it’s just about making him work as hard as possible he scores he scores but you know just trying to have him exert as much energy um as we can to you know kind of wear him down and we we’ve got to take it to another level energy-wise and pick him up 94 ft um this next game you’re one of a few guys who have been involved in a game seven situation how do you kind of impart your wisdom and what you know about from those times onto some of these younger guys who haven’t been in that situation before you know if they they ask um just kind of tell them about my experience but um you know they know that um if you’re not playing to Absolute exhaustion in this next game it’s why are why even go and that’s got to be the mindset from everyone in here um Aaron obviously had the Simon on on Brunson to start the game but I think he has three offensive rebounds one of them is a tip out three to to keep it alive at the start of the third quarter just what does he kind of mean for you guys in those those smaller 50/50 kind of moments I mean not only in that area but just for everything that he does Aaron is our Swiss army knife he does everything defensively he was guarding Joel embiid one time this year um he he’s guarded one through five for us all year and does what we need him to do on that end and his ability to shoot the ball and get to the rim is it’s it’s just amazing so um you can’t put a price on what he does for us because it’s I mean he’s just on both ends he’s unbelievable TJ have you seen just t grow throughout your Seasons with him and also him embracing just that that burden of being the guy who was supposed to help change things here well he has for sure he’s changed things for the better for this franchise and um for this city and um when you got a guy who’s your franchise guy that really gets people involved and and that’s his main objective is to get people going and shoot when he’s open it’s easy for everyone to Rally around a guy like that um he’s obviously an unbelievable player franchise player but as a teammate and a person he’s one of the best I’ve ever been around so when you put all of that together um it’s Prett it’s pretty easy to Rally around a guy like that what makes him as good as he is like kind of applying lessons I when he has a rough game it seems like you you see him sort of attack whatever it was that was the problem in the last one and fix it this one was kind of another example of that like what makes him good in those scenarios yeah I mean he watches film relentlessly and um the stuff that people don’t see he’s you know we’ll have a 10 a.m. shoot around and he is he’s been in the gym for an hour and a half already working on his game getting shots up and he has a hunger to just want to be great and want to be better and fix the things from the game before and that’s what I respect about him most his willingness to watch film and see what you know kind of went wrong and he fixes it almost instantaneously last one if anybody has if not just going to say uh miles and kind of the job he did on hardenstein boxing him out I I don’t even know how many rebounds he ended up with but just the fact that he kept hard Shine off the boards about that kind of me tonight um yeah when I kind of said we we made a concerted effort it it was it was pretty much miles Turner and you know we all saw from each of us what happened in game five not just him and um his his box outs tonight and his rebounding were were pivotal cuz har and um he’s a dog on the glass and um you know credit to Miles he really came out and and changed the game in that aspect but impress you guys about the the response you guys had to basically everything wrong in game five you kind of turn it around you know 4735 in the glass obviously a lot of force on defenses how you you guys kind of took the lessons from game five and apply them I mean we’ve done a good job of responding all year um every time we show up and not play the way that we think we’re capable of we do a good job of showing people who we are um we just got to do that two games in a row in this series and do it on the road go the way they’ve switched it up with their starters Pascal’s got some advantages when he’s out there how have you seen him kind of attack those and be better these last two games um you know when they put a smaller down and we need him to do what he does and attack the paint be a beast down low um and you know it’s hard to guard it puts pressure on their defense and when he’s going he has it going it makes it easy for kick out in sprays uh Rick told us the film session yesterday wasn’t a whole lot of fun he dropped a couple left bombs on us uh so for you just kind of what was what was that like that F that like having him kind of lead the way for you guys uh you know we need it like you know he holds us accountable he does a good job of that um making sure we understand the moment um understand where we are and understand what we got to do and what’s in front of us um so you know it was and we responded and we got to continue to respond see like obviously you took a point of doing that yourself obviously I think three offensive rebounds earlier you had a couple big ones there just what were you just what were you just trying to do to do better on the glass in this one what kind of opportunities did you see for yourself I mean they a great offensive rebound on a team so you know we got to make sure we we also do it you can’t you can’t just you know let them relax on one side of the ball and you know they’re giv all their energy on the other so Aon how do you feel like you did on Brunson I think he was two for 13 at start at the end of the first half I think he end up with 31 but overall how’ you feel like you guys defended him tonight uh I mean he’s a great player um you know he’s going to get to shoot the ball whenever he wants to shoot the ball um so it’s just making it as difficult as possible it’s not really it doesn’t really matter to me how much he has or whatever in that case may as long as it’s hard and he’s working for it you know that’s that’s all we can ask how do you feel like you guys have gotten progressively I guess better than that one obviously had a big game five I mean what how have you kind of taken a lesson from each game and learned how to apply and that when you talked about just making sure he sees different yeah stuff yeah make sure he sees d s make his life you know as hard as possible make him work for it um and you know it takes a team like it takes all five of us so we’re doing a good job you were in Boston you guys played two game sevens when you were there what do you remember about the different emotions that those took out of you and required that’s the best two words in sports um I think everybody in here is excited for it I know it’s a lot of people’s first game sevens um it’s my first I’m going to say this is my real first one you know my first real one playing so it’s going to be a lot of fun and are you been around great players throughout your career what is it about Tyrese that’s that you’ve seen from him to kind of mature throughout the process of becoming the faceb franchise becoming a star things like that you know he never runs from the moment you know those the high pressure moments high stakes Big Time shots big time plays he always makes them you know we expect him to make them um and that’s what your your best player that’s what your you know your franchise guy is supposed to do so um you know he’s doing his job at a high level right now and we need him to do that to get as far as we can I think hardenstein had 12 offense rebounds the other night just how big was miles tonight kind of helping I I don’t even know how many rebounds you gra but just box him out and getting a body on yeah I mean putting a body on he’s a big dude he’s a great rebounder um you know so it’s not just miles but miles did a phenomenal job today and we got to help him out as well um you know it’s a task

PACERS 4-2 BOSTON
Everyone played much better tonight. 👏 We need to keep that energy. Raise it and play more together like we had tonight. Myles played very well and getting Pascal in that midrange was key. We need to keep getting him those looks. Continue to take advantage of mismatches. This team has proven with game 1 that they have another level of energy/effort to bring. We only need to tame it better and bring that into what we did tonight. We do that and we can win this next game. It will be tough in NY, I felt they were saving themselves for a game at home. So expect another kind of energy going in. We need to continue to mix up the sets we run. The Offense we get, needs to be a mix of post. Running guys off the ball to their spots. Ball movement and keep ourselves ready to rebound. Hustle, get back and close out on shots. Brunson may get his, we know Nesmith can make it difficult. What we can't do is let guy's like McBride, Donte and Hart hit open 3's.. or let Hartenstein crash all the boards and play like he's Jokic.. We take everyone else out the game.. Make Brunson's life as difficult as possible. We can easily win this game. Nesmith and Pascal should fake at 3. Take a few dribbles in and hit the midrange. Since they aren't hitting their 3's. Those extra 5 or 6 missed shots can make a 10 or 12 point difference. Nembhard has been better and hasn't taken as many. I only hope he continues to take quality looks at 3 when he does. Get Myles going at 3 and hopefully he will continue to drive as well. Myles did great at attacking the rim. We need a mix from Hali, Obi seems due for some open 3's. TJ, keep doing what he's been doing. Jackson has been fantastic at being that extra defender to pick up Brunson. He had a great block. Keep it up guy's! We're playing better all the time. Go Pacers!!!
One W away from the ECF. Just one big win on the road. Fight like hell!! Go Pacers!!
Great season whether they win G7 or not…they’ve won pretty much all of games they’re supposed to win in the playoffs…no pressure on Sunday just go out there have fun and leave it all out on the court
Great game way to Go I’m so proud to be a Pacer fan !! Knicks a tough team !! Go Pacers !!
Hats off as a pacer fan. But if we ever want to win, the time is now. Tell obi to be great in the garden. And play defense. Nothing like making New York hate you 💯
Great day to be a PACERS FAN, the whole group play with intensity.
The "he a flooper" chantz at Brunson were great. Thank you Indiana.
PACERS IN 7 LETS GOOOO BOOM 💥 BABY.
PACERS don't be afraid of the moment, this is your time to shine. Go out to MSG & TAKE IT FROM THEM.
The MOMENTUM SHIFT JUST CHANGE. PACERS BALLING.😂
I understand why Tyrese Halibruton doesn't take 30 shots to be aggressive, if you always playing Iso your not going to win. You have to play team basketball.
1 W away from an ECF PACKERS NATION STAND UP.
PaCERS WIN 4-2 BOSTON 😂
Knicks fans quite as a mouse!😂 Knicks fans think they playing Boston on Sunday!😂
Now Sun can we win Big cause we better than the Celtics let's go
Stay mad
Send theese young chumps home knicks 💯
Primetime said it best were comin go pacers
God damnit, Rick. We can't afford to lose you to that New York HIV they all got up there in the Bronx
Diddy Boy Brunson
Myles Turner was apart of a game 7 with Victor Oladipo against the Cavs in the first round..we were the only team that took them to 7
Let's get this last W against the knicks
No defense can stop hard V cuts to get open on O. Empty the tank in G7! Run them off the floor. Crank up the D even more. Keep making Brunson uncomfortable…no rhythm and you will win!
Someone tell Spike Lee to stay home and sell his seat for Game 7 tomorrow. Indiana will be victorious in Game Seven.
Play defense and rebound, and they'll win the series.
why does nobody in the media have the balls to ask Rick why Jalen Smith isn't playing?
Watching what we are becoming vs. Where we were has been phenomenal. Please get this W tomorrow!
There are 5 things the Pacers need to remember going into Game 7 of this series:
1. The Knicks have only led at the half in 3 of the 12 games they've played this post-season.
2. If Tyrese stays aggressive and the Pacers win the battle of the boards, they win.
3. Pick up Brunson defensively in the back court and force him to use up the shot clock and give up the ball.
4. Siakam AND role players – Nembhard, Nesmith, TJMac, Obi-1 – need to play with confidence and force.
5. A quiet crowd on the road = a dejected team. (If the Knicks are losing, they will try something to break your focus and take you out of your head. Know at that point, you have them where you want them.)
*Be aggressive, Stay aggressive.
*Attack the basket at every opportunity. Don't just settle for 3PAs.
*Mental toughness is a must for 48 minutes.
*Be ready.
Take this series and go home winners. 🏆
Go Pacers!!!
PACERS IN 7💛🩵💛🩵
Additional note: The Knicks will try and trap Tyrese just as you've trapped Brunson in the back court. The difference is nearly every Pacer is capable of bringing the ball down court.
Be ready to help your team captain. Be active. MOVE! Make yourselves available.
Go get this "W"!!
Mark Jackson… coach this team… point guard
