Spurs INTERESTED In Darius Garland!

Spurs INTERESTED In Darius Garland!

okay so this is some pretty big news and this makes a ton of sense from the Spurs perspective actually I want some n are we having fun yet all right so Garland will be traded okay it’s many a different sources at this point I think it’s pretty confirmed that he will be traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers and now it’s just a matter of where does he go and I think the Spurs make the most sense out of anybody um so if you guys have not heard like I said it is a near lock after a new report five potential Landing spots including Lakers and Spurs blah blah blah we care more about the Spurs here um so and there’s actually another report here that I think is very uh important so here’s okay this is just more so odds so as far as who has the best odds or some of the best odds to get them the Spurs are the favorites uh to land Darius Garland for multitude of reasons and I’ll tell you what I personally would give up for Darius uh Garland U but also this report in particular this is the one that’s been making some rounds is Sam Amo uh basically saying that the Spurs have conducted due diligence and they’re they’re interested okay the Spurs are interested and from what I’m hearing I think that it’s a good possibility that they could possibly make something happen um but hey uh you just kind of got to wait and see on that one but I’ll just go Ahad and give you my pitch okay I think Darius Garland is a phenomenal play player um I know a lot of fans are not high on him after this past season um but hey when you’re dealing with injuries and also trying to jail with uh Spider it’s going to be really tough all right it’s really it’s really tough for him to jail when they have very similar playing Styles um but with that being said do not forget what he’s capable of okay um very young player not old at all okay was born in 2000 he’s 24 uh so still very young nowhere near his prime I would say and one of his best seasons uh in which he had 22 and this is pretty pretty consistent two years in a row or two seasons in a row in which he plays 68 then 69 games both of which average almost 22 points uh one in which he averaged almost nine assists the other in which he averaged eight assists or almost eight assists uh free throw percentage very high near 90% uh three-point percentage near 40% um both of those Seasons uh 46% % field goal percentage he’s pretty consistent and I think that a lot of people are just down on him as far as like his playoff performance uh this past season but I don’t think it’s really fair especially coming off an injury and everything it’s you know you got to you got to give him a little leeway uh there and trying to jail with uh Donovan Mitchell as I said but with that being said I do want to give you guys uh something that I’ve been thinking about so if I were to trade Darius Garland first and foremost Malachi brandham is one that kind of comes to mine uh when we talked about the draft a couple years ago we actually discussed that quite a bit that the Cleveland Cavaliers were interested in Malachi brandham and when we did a whole mock draft and most people agreed with me on this and I’m not the only one that did this like it was plenty of people that also uh put this in their mock draft I had Cleveland Cavaliers taking Malachi because we all know hey his history with Cleveland we all know that they were interested and he had a workout that went very well with them so I figured I did not think that he would fall all the way to us later on I just figured he would go late Lottery to the Cleveland Cavaliers That season um but that that was not the case they end up getting aaji and then they traded him okay so there there was a whole process in which they were um thinking about on on how they were going to go about it and you know Utah Jazz were the team that was interested and in aaji so that’s what they did um so they they skipped out on Malachi and then obviously he just fell and fell and fell so with that being said I think that that would actually be really great if um he could be reunited in Cleveland and also you know it makes sense from both perspectives right I’m not saying that Malachi brandom can’t fit with the Spurs in the future or anything but let’s just be honest okay in this upcoming season uh they’re going it seems like okay 2024 uh they’re going to get a point guard like I I I I don’t think that they’re going to wait I thought they were going to wait till 2025 I don’t think that’s the case they’re going to get a point guard and the more guards that you get on this team the less I really see especially ball dominant guards the less I see where Malachi brandom comes in because while he is a pretty good catch and shoot player he’s played pretty fine catch and shoot that is not his Forte right he’s more of a guy that you want to come off the bench and and run your unit and run pick and rolls with him like he’s that type of player but with the Spurs right now I don’t necessarily know if he would fit if you go and get another point guard so Malachi brandom is one in which I would let go also everyone knows Kellin right I would let Ken Johnson go um I I was thinking about this this entire season I just don’t think he really jealous with the Spurs and from what we’re hearing right now it is a huge possibility that they will make way with him but obviously Kellan and Malachi brandom are not enough so what else would you be willing to give up well me personally I think the eighth overall pick this season would be one in which I I I go ahead and let go um I know they’re not placing it here but yeah we got do have at Toronto so I would give them that Toronto eighth pick um you know I would keep our fourth obviously uh maybe we can get modest buellis or maybe we can get uh Ron Holland at that spot along with getting garland would be insane so hey we can give him that eight and would we be missing out on Dilly yes we would but Darius Garland is like I said a phenomenal player so that’s something I’ll be willing to give up and then next season so one thing that’s huge is not too long ago we just talked about about how the Chicago Bulls this pick is pretty enticing because it should convey next season um from everything that we’re hearing from demard De rozan saying I really want to come back and the Chicago Bulls just not wanting to rebuild at all I would not be shocked or surprised by any means if they end up being a mediocre team and that protected 1 through 10 goes out the window and you know they end up getting a a you know mid-range first round pick so that’s pretty good good you get the 2024 uh eighth overall pick you get uh 2025 Chicago’s pick and then on top of it you go ahead and you get Kellin you know who’s a who’s a really good spark plug and I think he would fit with Cleveland and then you get a guy that you wanted in the draft two years ago anyways in Malachi brandham so overall I think that that would be a pretty good trade-off I think maybe you’ll have to trade a couple more players to make the uh to make the the the salaries match I’m not 100% uh sure there but I I think it’s pretty off uh that’s not enough but hey nonetheless I think that that will be great and I think that that will be a really good uh pickup uh for the San Antonio Spurs and likewise with the Cleveland Cavaliers you know a lot of times we talk about these trades and what we be willing to give up and as Spurs fans we’ll be like oh yeah we’ll give up Kell and Johnson just give us luuka donic it’s like yeah this it not going to work right um but I I think that this is actually a very fair trade and they’re getting a lot out of it uh nonetheless I don’t think that there will be much else I would give up other than that um you know maybe you know if they say that they want uh the the honestly no I I was going to say I was going to say that Atlanta the Atlanta swap but I no I I want to hold on to that I want to hold on to both Atlanta uh picks if this is the case so um but that those are my thoughts you guys let me know what you think uh that’s just what came to mind for me uh but Darius Garland going to the San Antonio Spurs will be a huge pickup and that would definitely undoubtedly fit fix uh that point guard uh conundrum that we find ourselves in so anyways I will get with you guys later man until next time bye bye-bye [Music] [Music]

  1. If we're going to trade for a Cavs player, trade for Mitchell. Garland Was so ass in the series against Orlando and Celtics, we don't need a player that crumbles like this when it matters

  2. I think any PG will be better knowing they are playing with wemby. May it be trae, dillingham or garland. The floor will just open for them. Assist wise, easily you get 3-5 just passing to wemby. So i think this is really not a concern. The only concern is how much we giving up to get such PG. Just my 2 cents. 😊 keep grinding brother!

  3. IDK, Garland is proven to be a very good player, but I'd actually prefer to draft Dilly and a wing rather than trading all of that for Darius. If it were to happen though, I'd be excited to see how it would pan out.

  4. There's something seriously wrong here. Clan and I agree. Me personally I can't get rid of Malaki quick enough. If 8 is in play and you need the money to work, throw in Graham and our 2 2nds and get their #20 pick

  5. Thanks for making a video surrounding my comments question from a couple of videos back…

  6. Hello no I would rather trade for Derrick White, Anfernee Simmons,Dejounte Murray , Josh Giddey, Jaden Ivey or Ausar Thompson. All of these players would be a way better fit and a lot cheaper, so more production with less to give up.

  7. I called this a yr ago along with Bronny James being picked with are pick #35 in 2nd round then Lebron comes to SAS then becomes coach when Pop retires then James can have a chance to win rings as a coach something Jordan never did to help his Goat status possibly

  8. His fg% is concerning…this isnt 2001…lead guard hovering closer to 50% in this era…also his assist/turnover ratio isnt good

  9. What's weird is cavs have no reason to trade Garland to the spurs unless we overpay.

Their team is built to compete now and no one we can trade will improve their team. They already traded their picks to Utah with the Mitchell trade so they can't rebuild easily. But if they do I'd love the fit of Garland with Wemby

  10. Personally I would want to keep 4 and 8. I’d be willing to offer Keldon, Branham, Jones, the Bulls pick (I personally feel it won’t convey next year) and a future pick of our own. I have my hopes for Castle at 4 and Holland at 8 because we desperately need more defenders, and trading for Garland wouldn’t help that. If we went into next year with Garland/Castle/Vassell/Sochan/Vic, I’d be stoked.

  11. So we will have 3 max contracts on the roster in the future in Wemby, Garland, and Devin. I don't think we can afford 3 max contracts, but hey if it is possible let's go for it as Garland is an All-Star player.

  12. Matas or Ron Holland at 4 is probably the worst picks we can make besides clingan. I get we weren’t great defensively but our spacing is gonna suffer with either of those guys sharing the court with Sochan.

  13. I do not like the KJ push. I think he is still adjusting to the new role. In one season, he went from the KJ and Vessel show to the Wemby show. For a little kj was they guy, and i think him off the bench with a solid 2nd unit would be great. were still really young, so who knows? Maybe this season, he can better adjust and thrive in that role. This whole season was full of experiments so lets not jump the gun to quick
