welcome to the official YouTube channel for the Colin coward podcast go on hit the Subscribe button there you go right down there if you want to be among the first to hear my weekly takes NFL college football more right there yeah Indiana if I’m not mistaken I believe Indiana’s undefeated at home in this postseason run so like that’s one of their big angles is they’re this super young energetic fast playing in transition type of team and that can be a buz saw when you go on the road and uh but like by the way we saw Indiana Beat Boston in the inseason tournament now one of the couple things there that was before Halle Burton Hur his hamstring and what you saw for the handful of games in this series yeah where when you saw Hal Burton’s upside that was kind of what he was like every night before his hamstring injury like he was like he’s steeve Nash 2.0 he’s super fast he could shoot he could get into the paint and and generate all these high quality shots so like the way I look at it it’s like Indiana is a team full of Specialists it’s like two great play initiators in T.J McConnell and Tyrese Alberton and then a bunch of play finishers guys like Miles Turner Pascal seak all these guys right Pascal seak can play on an island a little bit but like they’re they they’re just The Specialist Team whereas Boston is a team that’s got like a bunch of stars basically or Fringe stars that are like learning how to play together right and so the case for Indiana is like Indiana is optimized Boston’s not Indiana lives in transition maybe they just make the whole series a track meet maybe they make a bunch of shots maybe they win but Boston is like so much better defensively and they do have more Talent overall offensively as well like they’re they’re just better on both ends of the floor so it’s hard to find a Pathway to Victory I just think with Indiana’s home court advantage they’ll probably push the series to five or six but I have a really hard time believing Indiana gets a win in this one so Dallas beats OKC and probably one of the top two or three games of the year in the NBA it was just an insane match up with tremendous offensive players and I kind of feel like this is when it was over I’m like yeah this is the way it should have ended is that the young team took a baby step um and whereas Minnesota has some veterans some Gober and Carl Anthony towns you know OKC really doesn’t they’re all kind of you know it’s it’s kind of kids they could have used probably a 33y old guy in big moments you know they could depend on and it’s sort of this is what they were so I think Oklahoma City flies home and thinks this was a great season I think Dallas needed to win it um you know I’ve said this before I I know Luc is great uh I’ve been watching the NBA since 72 he’s one of the more gifted Unstoppable offensive players and it’s surprising how many great offensive players are unorthodox they’re different they’re weird you know I grew up with George Gervin you know you know finger rolls from 12 feet Moses Malone a lot of these prodigious scores the Skyhook it ain’t jumpers you know Alex English led the 80 in scoring and couldn’t jump right like some guys are just they’re just scorers Lucas so different he always looks heavy and it’s like Dirk nitzki fall away but not as pretty um I will give him credit though to bring in at times a ball Centric guy with a unique personality Kyrie and to sort of step back on ball usage play better defense like he’s not stubborn like Melo to me always felt stubborn like Luca’s got some self-awareness Luca’s I mean that’s my takeaway is that the most if if I was a Maverick fan I’m like our guy kind of looked at himself and went I got to be a better Defender I’m never going to look great but I’m G to put the effort in and I’m get I’m gonna get the ball out of my hands and it’s like that’s something the self-awareness is something that’s what I see first of all that bit about the scores being weird is so interesting and I’ve never thought about that before because as you go back a lot of them are like that like joic is this weird wide bodyi refrigerator of a player that just shoots all these like kind of funky shots like James Harden is a lefty that is like two-dimensional and either just will drive left or take a step back jumper going right that’s like the only two things he does but no one could guard him for like a fouryear period like he was completely Unstoppable there’s so many of these like kind of weird players out there I wonder if that has to do with just the unorthodox nature of guarding those players versus the traditional matchups that players see elsewhere around the league but like one of the things that I think Kyrie Kyrie I think is is one of those players that is when he is slotted in the right role impacts winning like a top 15 player in the league but when he’s outside of that right role you start to kind of see some of his warts and you know we saw that in Boston when it’s like okay he can’t be the number one like he just clearly is incapable of doing that even in uh Brook you know I I by the way that Brooklyn team was pretty good I think that was a turned ankle and a strained hamstring away from probably winning the title in 2021 but again he wasn’t playing alongside to do everything forward that’s what’s unique about the Luca in Lebron experience because I don’t think it’s a coincidence Kyrie is playing this incredible defense that he’s playing this season this is his best defensive season since 2016 when he hit the game winner in game seven of the NBA finals and guarded Steph the majority of that series the re the reason why is on that team because LeBron could take 60% of the offensive possessions and just eat up all that usage Kyrie was an excellent off ball player he could spot up and space the floor but then it was like here’s here’s a third of the game go cook but this rest of the time I got you then that allowed him to kind of handle all of his like energy distribution in all of these useful ways and like Kyrie’s had some kind of iffy statistical games in this playoff run where I thought he was awesome he had a game earlier this this series where he took like eight shots but he had like 11 assists and was unbelievable defensively like Kyrie I think when he plays alongside a Swiss army knife forward that can really run an offense for the majority of a game he can focus his energy into his his Elite traits and he’s got some real elite traits and then I think and this is the one last thing I want to say about Dallas and it’s a really interesting Factor coming into the Minnesota series Denver can’t protect the rim it is their biggest weakness yeah and that ended up being an issue you see Nas Reed and Carol Town slashing to the rim Anthony Edwards slashing to the rim look at what the Lakers did to them they eviscerated their front line defensively Minnesota is going into Dallas Dallas is an excellent Rim Protection Team Derrik Lively and and Daniel Gafford have transformed that defense into like a there you talk about redwoods those dudes underneath the basket can really protect the rim and I think that was also a trade deadline move like I mean agression yeah it’s amazing what you can do with the trade deadline that’s one of the great trade deadline that didn’t get a ton of press it didn’t get a lot of attention to your point because you talked about how Oklahoma you said D Dallas or Denver Dallas excuse me you said Dallas needed that series you’re right it’s an absolute catastrophe if they lose that series like complete in total catastrophe because they gave up firstr draft compensation for PJ GA or PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford so like now looking back at it it looks it looks genius but there was a lot of stakes for Dallas in that series for the record I thought Dallas deserved to win I thought they were the better team yeah but again like they they have some real Rim protection and that’s going to be an interesting angle on the Minnesota series cuz Minnesota likes to attack the rim they’re a slashing dribble penetration attack the rim type of offense and Dallas is kind of built to withstand that so that’ll be a really really interesting element in the next round [Music] he [Music]

  1. The curse of Cleveland and Kyrie Irving. Will come and haunt the Boston Celtics say no title for you while the Pacers beat the living crap out of them. Runaway to their first title

  2. Omg how can the East even measure up to the West this playoff.
I feel the Sacramento Kings could beat Indiana in a 7 game series.

  3. So wow. Round 1, everyone said the Pacers were done even without Giannis. Round 2, Knicks in 6 was the mantra for EVERYONE who "thinks" they know basketball. Now, Pacers have zero chance against the Celtics? Provide more fuel, please.

  4. I mean, the Pacers won 2 games against them and would have tied the season series if they weren't down their point guard. Everyone said they would lose to the Bucks and Knicks.

  5. Celtics in 5. They will lose game 2 at home, it's written in the stars, but they'll win out easily in games 1, 3, 4 and 5.

  6. Colin going into the series and all playoffs long: “Pacers are a joke. They would’ve been swept by any team who was healthy in the earlier rounds. Boston is on another universe compared to Indy when you compare the talent on their rosters and it will be an embarrassment if they lose more than 1 game to them this series”

Colin after the Pacers go back to Boston for game 5 with the series tied at 2: “Boston is being exposed. They are terrible. Porziņģis injury alone is going to cost Boston the series, as Boston is a one man team and the Pacers were supposed to win without Porziņģis in the lineup for Boston. Never has a team had an easier path to the Finals in NBA history than Indiana”

  7. 3-3 regular season including the IST. Without Siakam fully integrated. One of those wins without Haliburton. The defense of the Pacers has also completely turned around since then. Playing at the exact same pace in the playoffs. "Impossible" is a reach

  8. To save you time everyone on espn and FS1 "pacers now play celtics and will lose, so moving on for 90% of the segment on Dallas and Timberwolves" …..please give the Pacers more motivation, I love it

  9. Pacers just set a Playoffs record in a game 7 highest shooting percentage in history, and the response to that is to go right back to claiming they're scrubs with no chance to win. See you in Boston. The Pacers may not be the favorites, but they are going to make a real series of this.

  10. I like Indiana in 7 !!👏👍I love when all these shows pick Pacers to loose !! Playing with house money they aren’t supposed to be here !! 👍

  11. So, I thought this video was about the Pacers.. 60% of the video is about the Western Conference teams. Why is Pacers the only team in the title of the video if they aren't even the topic for a quarter of the video's length.

  12. Colin cant stay on topic to save his life… title is celtic/pacers prediction and he immediately talks about the west

  13. I love the video title referring to the Pacers and they took about two minutes to basically say "Oh, aren't they precious, but they have no chance." And then spent the rest of the video talking about the West Finals. LOL.

  14. Pacers going in to Boston and punching them in the throat and stealing GM 1!!! Go ahead keep gassing C's up and that exactly why they gonna sleep and underestimate them and lose at home again Indy is a bomb squad and play with each other like nobody else in the playoffs and bench comes in and keeps same Pace… IDK if they can win the series but believe cam steal 1 in Boston 1 or 2 and not getting ran over Stop Putting C's up on pedestal

  15. Boston will either win or lose. Either way, Boston is in control of the series. If Tatum plays well, then Boston wins,if Tatum plays bad, Boston loses. Indiana does not control its destiny. Boston does
