Kevin Garnett explains why he thinks the Nuggets lost to Minnesota

congrats happy birthday what did it feel like for you to hear calll Anthony towns and them give you a shout out the birthday boy after they closed the deal and won game seven in Denver the franchise you starred for for years the big ticket himself that was you and these brothers more than two decades later made sure to shout you out and give you some love talk about that for a second man the homage man the young boys paying homage man I I have not been in the building just because I feel like if I haven’t been there all year then I don’t just want to just you know these kids are actually created with the with the help of Mark and A-Rod you know with the management and their ownership group changing the vibe of Minnesota changing the The Narrative going out taking risk uh risk when it came to the free agent Market know people did not like the Rudy gobear when it first started they didn’t see the dynamic the league was you know really locked into the uh the the high paced uh Golden State kind of style and then all of a sudden you start seeing the rebirth of the big man and the big man is back in the conversation the big man is back you know dominating the game and obviously that’s that’s led by embiid and uh Joker right and uh now you got this new energy in the league where you got these host of stars that are in New York that are in OKC that are in Houston that are in Minnesota that are in Memphis and yeah we are seeing a new and a Changing of the Guard man it it it was it was the best one of the best birthday gifts I’ve got in a long time shout out to the young fellas and they doing it and yeah man we we’re all on text I text them boys I give them some advice we’re sharing information we’re going back and forth it’s beautiful I’m H I’m happy for those guys man they they actually they’re doing it they’re not just talking they’re doing it kg these brothers love you man I was I was in Minnesota weeks ago man I had to we had an all access day for ESPN and I was there and you walked through building Ant-Man cat all of these cats I mean they reveal you they got so much love for you man I want to know I mean I haven’t seen you are you going to go I mean they in the Conference finals for the first time since you played there I mean are you going to go to a game kg got you I got you I gotta not only get to the Minnesota uh get to a couple Minnesota games I gotta get to some Celtic games uh and and and and and figure that out but you know I am a I’m a businessman I am a father um you know by every days or not to conduce them to where I can just go and up and leave for three or four days like I really want to right right I got responsibilities and stuff but you know I I’m I’m AOC I’m locked in I watch from I watch from my my my my man cave and I and I check the games out and I’m locked in I’m watching all the matchups I’m I’m super locked in on what’s going on and I love all the games all these games we’ve been watching have been unbelievable and they’ve been playing at the top tier man shout out to New York man New York fought like dogs man Jaylen big body Brunson man he led that team man shout out to the Knicks man for making an unbelievable run shout out to the Pacers for playing ball and going into that hostile environment of a jungle they call Madison Square Garden and pulling a win out even though the Knicks were depleted depleted depleted um man I just I’m just I’m just enjoying all of it man shout out to Denver they had a great run you know Stephen I want to throw something at you man you know a lot of times I saw this personally with myself actually when um I was able to be in a very very rare situation with the Boston Celtics and we won our first championship right right and then next summer man I saw Danny aent management kind of cut back and when they cut back I don’t really think that um they thought about what really got us here and it was because of the longevity but it was because of the the volume of diversity we had we had posy we had we had we had Tony Allen we had big baby we had per we had all these different pieces that you can play when I watched Denver one of the things I thought coming back this year man without having BR Brown and Uncle Jeff some Jeff Green and and and and DeAndre Jordan didn’t even really get into rotation this year that to me along with the kid Brown from Kansas yeah that four five with Reggie Jackson man it was no better bench than that it was no better second group that you can throw in there when your stars didn’t have it and they can actually C some momentum they play defense right listen when I when they when they didn’t resign Bruce Brown and Uncle Jeff and Jeff Green man I was really worried about them being able to because it’s a different Dynamic and that’s a different without those

  1. The Nuggets lost because they did not have the energy or the will to rebound in many games and particularly at the end of the game that mattered most. The best barometer for desire and energy is rebounding in a close game and for what ever reason Denver didn’t have it this time around🏀🏀🏀

  2. I can only imagine how many conflicting thoughts KG will have in his head if it ends up being the Wolves and Celtics in the Finals

  3. KG should be a regular NBA guest on ESPN, he's got great presence love his passion. You hearing this ESPN?? You need some new personalities.

  4. If KG showed up at Target Center for a game the place would explode! The only reason his jersey is not in the rafters is because of his beef with current owner.

  5. No doubt Denver needs to up their bench this offseason–but they lost a game they should have won by settling for outside shots. Veterans know to close-out with fierce inside game and not settle. This was a mental lapse on Denver's part—it'll hurt forever.

  6. People tend to forget, as with many other players…how great KG was. This dude in his prime was one of the best this game has ever seen. Top 20-25 ever.

Elite defender, rebounder, scorer and was on of the first bigs with a REAL jumpshot. Paved the way for these Stretch 4's and 5's.

Much love for the big ticket

  7. Jokic isn't the reason why the Nuggets lost. The Nuggets lost because of 4 reasons

    1) no backup center for Denver. This means that Naz Reid can dominate the bench unit and Jokic is forced to play more and be gassed.

    2) Mpj averaged 13 pts on 38% shooting when he is supposed to be a 20 points 50/40/90 player.

    3) Murray has been terrible in these playoffs even though he played good in game 7.
20 pts on 40/30/80 splits aren't enough to beat a stacked Wolves team.

    4) the second, third, fourth and fifth best players in this series were all T Wolves (1. Jokic, 2. Ant 3. Kat 4. Rudy Gobert 5. Jaden McDaniels 6. Gordon 7. Naz

Jokic averaged 29/11/8 against the Wolves on 50%fg. This is arguably the best defensive team since the 04 Pistons with 3 all stars in it.

LeBron in his prime (2011- 20') has never faced a similar type of defense with 6'8 + defenders and rim deterrents at every position. (McDaniels, Walker, Ant, Gobert, Naz etc )
