The other five were Second Team selections:

    ▪️ Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1969-70)

    ▪️ Hakeem Olajuwon (1984-85)

    ▪️ Manute Bol (1985-86)

    ▪️ David Robinson (1989-90)

    ▪️ Tim Duncan (1997-98)

The change to positionless defensive teams is gonna make comparing players across eras even more annoying than it already is

  3. All D first team on a 14th seed and 22nd ranked defense has got to be a first. Not saying he doesn’t deserve it but they’ve kept guys out before for similar reasons

Surprised Tim Duncan wasn’t first team All-Defense his rookie year given he made the All-NBA first team. Karl Malone took the PF spot in ’98.

Most overrated player of alltime. Not even a better defender than Chet or Lively.

freaking Texas, how the red states always so lucky

    Thank you.

This trivia will help me be a bigger Stan. 🙏

The thing that people are forgetting is that he played PF too this year as well so he would have been first team under the old rules anyway. Super impressive.

This man is going to run this league in a few years time, he is a legit alien. I hope for all our sakes that the spurs shit the bed team building around him because holy shit man

  11. MSFT400EOY

His absolute floor is the best defender in the league, now that’s what we called generational, not that Trevor Lawrence or Zion kind of “generational”

  12. Nohotsauceforoldmen

Damn i thought it was gonna say “since Tim Duncan” but this makes it even more impressive

Dude is a goat candidate, wish him the best!!!!! Deserves no haters because he’s not an asshole

Props to Wemby, but if it wasn’t positionless, I feel he would be 2nd with AD and Gobert being 1st

  15. Sacreville

NBA already preparing red carpet for him to win DPOY.

Positionless teams are kind of wild. Four centers on the first team. Four guards on the second team.
