I know he didn’t win DPOY, but I do feel that with this award being the first for a rookie on the All-Defensive First Team, it does help illustrate the historic nature of Wemby’s defensive impact in his rookie season.
People may argue it was due to changes in how that award is given; however, you can never take away the fact that Wemby would be the first rookie to ever make the All-Defensive First Team.
That’s his forever. Victor Wembanyama. So happy he’s a damn Spur. The Spurs’ legacy of the big man continues.
