playoffs is definitely different it’s a lot more preparation I think a lot more detail in terms of how you Scout your opponent you know you’re seeing them for four to seven games in a row so you get to know them really well and know what they do really well once he’s in this mid-range you got to make sure you’re contesting that shot playoffs were way more physical way way slower to game every possession has a different feel to it compared to the regular season the game to game break Downs are a really detailed and the adjustments are super specific it was just a a super fun experience first day prep for the off uh practice is good real focused real energized uh everybody locked in on one miss what you understand we talked about it in there we have to give you guys a g right what they’re going to do and how they’re guarding I’m trying to be more detailed you know in what I’m doing uh making sure I’m watching more film taking care of my body a bit after than I have been and uh really just eliminating as many distractions or variables as possible so I can be fully present this bless be in this position to giv this opportunity uh you know with this group and we all love each other we’re so competitive uh we want to be the on you know to be remembered to you know bringing the city together and and having a run that everybody remember this is going to be a match up between two Elite level defensive teams teams that are teor in the half court defensively it’s going to be very difficult for either team to get much in the paint uh however game one game two critical if they can get one of those first two games here in Cleveland then the whole tener of the series changes them white shirts out there it’s kind of turn yeah D white shirts covering the whole Arena you need to get one of the two right and so typically it’s this first one she you know both teams have been off for a week you know hopefully refreshed rested um but we don’t have any tape right there’s no film the second one will be harder cuz now you starting to get film on what you can do the different changes and stuff everything’s dictated off of you know February right now so this one for the visiting team I think always the most important one we’re more than pathetic now it’s just time to go rock all right so anytime whatever you step in that game there going to be ner it’s going to be Lou all the things all the things when it’s all said and done keep it into your preparation mentally physically and all the things we’ve done for the last 3 to 4 days to get CH to the spell and then just go out there and that’s what it’s going boil down to yall got a rock packed house in Cleveland and we are underway from downtown Cleveland the Cavaliers control the opening tip Mitchell pull up three over B Caro and it is quickly six and up in Cleveland definitely you know got to be a little more locked in um on the next game of just trying to be there and take away those looks even though they were you know contested or some of them were part of the game plan streu hits a fade away three Mitchell hits a tough three over me Mo hits two threes so um you can’t overreact but I mean guys like stru and Mitchell you you know try and get them off the line some more I make sure that for the mainor series we come out with the right mindset right attitude and um right aggressiveness to to start the basketball game um that’s that’s on that’s on the first five to um I start the game off right sucks easy Above the Rim for the onehanded dunk yeah I definitely think we’re we feel um better going in the game game two I mean it was a tight game even though we were down you know a little bit it was still tight and you know we didn’t we miss a lot of free throws um didn’t make threes so uh it’s a lot that we could have done better you know to make this a uh a better game for us so you know going into the game two you know you just clean up on those things and come in with with more confidence and we’ll be good Cavaliers are going to win game number one in the best of seven series the first game guys were were prepared um game planwise but then it’s also their first game so them being able to feel that real time and then being able to communicate afterwards is I think alleviates some of that pressure going into game two a rockus cloud is on its feet the magic will start things off on this Monday night from Cleveland Ohio attacking nice dish fron fogner with the Finish jayen sus got caught up underneath keep him and is down on the floor Court in a lot of pain got Tim out magic trainers out to take a look it’s the three behind the back dribble hammerson on top of Allen they didn’t give up they came from 22 points down to make it a nine-point game in the fourth quarter but could get no closer they have yet to lead in this series and they head home for game three down two games to none put these two losses in perspective to ensure that from a mentality perspective it doesn’t carry over as you go home um because I think everyone understands what these two games have been and uh I don’t think you know anyone thinks that it’ll continue when we come when we come home but it’s not just going to happen that way we got to be uh locked in and you know game plan the right way um you know find the confidence hopefully the fans and being at home will give us that cat here you don’t like it BL screen hand back after game one and two I was just thinking you know we’re good um I think we just were a little nervous the first two games and we lost but I think there was a lot to be encouraged by even though we didn’t play you know to our standard but I think after those first two I think I was just thinking that you know we’d win the next one all right we’re underway game three the first home playoff game for the magic and five years bronze going one-onone against a good Defender Bron Boger he drives into it with the cutting St drops the hammer right down the middle kicks it out to b car three-point shot got picked up by C now knocked it away he’ll bring it up left side Suns three-point shot it’s good here is Morris guarded by vano bad pass P off sucks kns it in windmill dump jayen s and car backing in fading away 20 footer nothing but then man he’ll drive on moer they get tangled up Isaac swaps it to the deck Anthony lowers his head takes it to the basket miss the shot oh man there’s Force to drop it in this is just what Jamal Mosley and this ball Club needed and this crowd which has been just Sensational from the opening tip I mean to the city I love y’all we love y’all the series now Cleveland two games to one obviously we’re proud of the win tonight it is Big to get your first playoff win um at home but uh we want to win the the whole series so we’re going to have to do it again thought our urgency all night was really good our energy was great everybody was really locked in you know we need a similar effort on Saturday let’s go we go here set the screen yep [Applause] def home court you know that was that was kind of the the what we was talking about after the first two games especially we dropped two but we had an opportunity enti the series with two home wins so I think my biggest thing just continue to protect home court and the fans just did what they do last game I think we’ll be successful Play We Love keep sa 2 let’s go baby let’s go game four yeah obviously a really important game you don’t want to go down 3-1 going to Clevelands no I just remember we were down at halftime between clocks Mitchell turns the corner vano is there Mitchell with the left handed shot got it to go and that is just a great individual play by a great player y sucks for three rims out man that was halfway down and it’s out of bounds and that’s the end of the first half Cavaliers a n-point lead at the mission for whatever reason I still felt really really good about the game and how we were playing and really optimistic so not just myself I think everybody really stepped up in the third quarter and probably had one of the best runs that we’ve had all year they just turned it over Isaac with the steal ji for three give it to him oh back breaker for the Cavs BOS Boger still on the floor weaving through the middle BS it up and in he can do no wrong yeah I got into a rhythm and um you know tried to enjoy the moment how about this inbound play and a foul B Caro stolen by the magic hallow leading the break ahead to bronze with the scoop score foul comes to fron Isaac the screen Setter shot clock at four fron for three can do no wrong now he’s got 32 that’s what we’re talking about and this series is tied at two games a piece two dominating performances in Kia Center by the Magic in this best of seven series Bron what the heck got into you in that third quarter my man let’s try to get in a paint and make the right play uh I thought our our defense was the was the key in the second half yeah big shout out to the to the whole team and hopefully we can do that in Cleveland as well games three and four at home they dominated the glass and that was huge Jamal Mosley saying with this Cleveland team you they are such a good offensive team you want to limit their possessions don’t let them get Second Chance points extra ones and the magic did that very well in games three and four and Orlando controlling the opening tip here we go in game five a critical 2-2 series when Del Carter Jr long pass ahead to folz and to take it right at Merill and put it in great recognition six-point game fron vogner’s back little turnaround push shot is good by fron M blocked by Carter from behind van Caro comes up the right wing up top to vogner Ron’s good penetration feat sugs inside and the magic have the lead for the first time since 415 left in the first quarter vano tough jumper it’s good over okoro I like it one onone R too free throw line Chopper is good by Van Caro he’ll drive against Moy put it up off the glass and put it in shot clock at 10 Mitchell goes to work fires it over vogner in and out rebounded by Isaac Jamal Mosley says let’s go 10 seconds to play no timeout Bogner will drive Bogner lays it up blocked by Moy Spruce with the loose ball the magic time him up a jump ball with [Applause] Mitchell Ando shooting for three it’s good van Caro with one tenth left cats the lead lead to one and that’s it final and Cleveland takes a 32 lead in The Best of seven series what the message to your team is now go home take care of home I think that it you know it doesn’t become a series till the home team loses and they did a great job protecting home court they battled they fought and you know we have to remember the small things and the details of these games matter [Applause] I talked about at halftime the other day there was a lot of that frantic energy right now is where you think it so when the game comes it’s just all instincts and you’re you’re using your gut feel with what’s happening in the game that’s the most important piece you guys are monsters when you play together and you don’t think you just react and play off of each other that’s what you guys need to keep realizing KN and we have that Advantage he miss right now remember every game’s different don’t expect to to be like game five and don’t expect to to be like games three and four here go take the game elimination game really winter go home the first opportunity or chance you know that that our season was on the line um and that if we lost that game that we were done here we go game number six from downtown Orlando it’s down ball with the shaves into the hands of Carter and the dive to save it you the same thing thought skates three-point shot from 30 ft he drills it okay that wasn’t a realization uh that I nor anybody else on the team uh staff was ready for out to Gar and that a second second attack is there magic hav’t stopped to the end there’s a nice finish by folz big offensive rebound for Mo Anthony beautiful spin to the basket high off the BL it in spectacular goodness crosscourt to sus up top to Carter three-point shot no good rebound sucks hisory it’s done oh my that is a big offensive rebound the long one out to that’s where a lot of emotion came from um plus we were at home which always you know brings a bit more game six that’s the game I’ll never forget in terms of how loud the crowd was how involved they were how much they lifted us up it was just an awesome experience for for everybody involved Mitch going oneon-one driving rejected Wendell got it magic three-point lead in the ball van Caro exploring spinning and there’s a foul count the basket for playoff p [Applause] and that does it game seven coming Sunday in [Applause] Cleveland great job staying the course great job staying together forcing the game seven by committee gentlemen all right so we’ll meet at the plane tomorrow let’s go let’s go father God lord Jesus thank you for the opportunity to play the game that we love Keep Us Safe us play together let’s get this win in Jesus name we pray amen amen not the first time fellas do die Magic on three 1 2 three magic Moy is to become a volume three-point shooter if they’re going to pair him with Jared Allen vogner gets his own Miss kicks it out mon Caro Nails the three-pointer really no weaknesses in his game throws it to sug Suggs a three got momentarily but sugs right there to pick it up Wendell Carter another three the big men knocking down three for Orlando and a magic a six-point lead well that first quarter was special I mean we’ve talked about our starts how do we start the game off better and I think we couldn’t have done a better job defensively in that first quarter of coming out the right way playing the right way trusting the pass defending at a high level getting out and running all the things that we talked about 22 points so far for Cleveland they’re eight of 32 from the field they haven’t hit a three and nine attempts merold there they go guys finally get one to go and Mer as the game went on they started to attack early on we missed a couple shots they were able to get out and run here’s Mitchell against sugs gets into the paint P it and a foul tie game and a free throw coming up Tristan Thompson’s come in Max stru fires up another three it’s good Max stru back to back threes of the Cavs with their largest lead of the game and that’ll do it Donovan Mitchell in a ferocious Cavs defense they win game seven and eliminate the Young Magic and I said it to them in there um I try to keep the same perspective we try to keep the same perspective as the year goes on because we know what we were capable of that’s the sting and that’s where it hurts we know how good we have been and what we were capable of doing but the perspective is still the same with a group of young men that have continued to grow and get better and learned through the these experiences and remember how close they are and how tied together they are that’s the part of it that you really remember the journey that we’ve been on guys remembering game seven having to win three or four games in order to get into the playoffs the N game winning streak all those things were parts of this season but it was also part of the Season that these guys have bonded and grown together and continue to pull for one another you guys are unbelievable group of young men unbelievable can’t say it enough how proud I am and blessed hope you got guys every [Music] day but I think that for us you know we took the season as you know every game was a playoff game you know I think that we did a good job of coming out competing at a high level really putting oursel in a good position to have a great allaround year yeah it was just kind of two feet in into the whole experience and really embraced being in the moment and enjoying the ups and downs and leaving it all out there from a mental aspect because I’ve never been in the playoffs and I know how precious it is so I want to take the most out of that experience for this team I would just say it was just like the the beginning um just a the taste of you know what’s to come understanding and just believing that’s just a position that we’re supposed to be in and just you know next year you going to have to do it all over again it’s I don’t know it’s just a different atmosphere and I’m just so happy that I was able to be a part of it you know it was my first time personally being in the playoffs and now I want nothing less of that like I want to be in the playoffs every year now man we just as a unit we just all rock with each other man it’s just it’s it’s it’s rare that you find a team that’s so uh so close and really like each other like this and you know it’s genuine it’s no it’s no hating it’s just uh it’s a team that want to see the person next to them succeed you know it’s something kind of special when you know this is the same group that you know I came in and got drafted with really everybody was here when I got here and was here the year before so it’s just special you know going from where we were in the prior couple years and then being in the playoffs and now just fighting the playoffs and and being in the seven game series and nobody really believed in us a couple years ago or last year and but we believed in each other and that’s all we would tell each other just throughout training camp throughout the summer we know what we’re capable of as a group and so the fact that we’re you know doing it it’s awesome
