If Lue doesn’t plan on staying and the Clippers front office finds out, it is bad management to keep him. No team will do well if the coach doesn’t want to be there. It also would look bad if a team deliberately kept the coach from moving.
Technically the Clippers can do it though and pay him for the next season.

I get Ty probably wants to stick around due to the new arena and infinite money bags.. but nothing compares to the love Lakers Nation showers on a good coach, especially one who wins multiple rings. Phil will forever be royalty in this city. Ballmer’s billions can’t buy that.
