Interesting comment on the Nuggets lack of three point shooting. I think at the end of the day that’s what killed them against the wolves, Jokic didn’t have anyone reliable to pass out to for a 3 when he was swarmed in the paint. The Nuggets never found a way to make the wolves pay for doing that.

If I know anything about Malone, he will make the right adjustments. He’s become better as a coach over the years and I have 1000% full confidence in him at this point.

Jury is still out on Booth though. He’s had one great offseason and one kinda shitty/underwhelming offseason. I still think he’s a good GM though as of now

“Someone who went shopping but left their wallet at home” for Booth seems like a man made for Kroenke

A few thoughts for the next season:

As competitive as the West is, there are 4 teams (Den, Minn, Dallas and OKC) that are substantially better than the remaining – of course this could change in the off season.

Denver is just as capable to win a road playoff game as lose a home game in the playoffs. So as long as they finish in the top 6, seeding does not really matter.

I hope Malone recognizes this and devotes more effort to developing younger players, even if it cost them 5-10 wins during the season. Hopefully, his post-game comments regarding player fatigue leads him to a more balanced approach in the 24-25 season.

  5. This reads like an article KOC had in drafts since the start of playoffs. What led to their demise was going cold and taking their foot off the gas in the biggest game of the season. I would agree the bench situation wasn’t ideal but it wasn’t the reason they lost game 7. If anything CB was one of the better players during that horrible 2nd half.

Murray/MPJ/KCP/AG were the issue in game 7. That’s what led to the demise. If 2 of those guys played those 20 minutes at their average they would have cleared the hardest series they would’ve faced

  6. What development? No Pickett/Tyson/Strawther minutes in the regular season. 5 Pwat minutes post season, same old 5 men line up every single time, predictable, no flexability, every team and their mother had us figured out especially Tim Connelly, this can’t be a norm.

And I understand Malone, these 30ish picks are not worth our time, Wemby, Chet, Lively, Jaquez etc, if you know, you know. We can’t be paying for more cheerleaders anymore, Jok is not getting younger, if you can’t help, get out, we’re not doing the two timelines thing if our answer is Julian Strawther. Get Pwat ready for war, lock Braun in the gym make him shoot 3s, turn those DNPs into real rotations and get on the same page ffs.

  7. Meh, so much of this article is just to stir up drama.

We get an average series from MPJ and we’re in the conference finals.

I like what Booth has done so far. The miss this year was not upgrading over Reggie or Nnaji at the deadline. I understand their contracts, which made them tradable, but we needed a bench scorer and a legit backup 4/5.

We’re still in a great spot for next year. We need Malone to stick with Strawther. Even a good 3 pt shooter off the bench could have been the difference for us in this series. Braun and Watson are good bench guys and they’ll get better. In fact, I’d like to maybe see those 2 and KCP average the same minutes during the season to keep KCP fresh. We do need a better backup PG, and maybe that’s Gillespie or Pickett.

  8. This is silly.

If they won Game 7, Nuggets would be title favorites.

One loss, especially in a 50-50 series, doesn’t change the fact that Nuggets are a great team.

And most likely still a contender next year if they keep everyone
