somewhat somber addition of the friendliest segment in all of sports quick reminder on how the segment works it’s not a power ranking okay it’s a rich tapestry of precedent performance and expectations teered on a small Mound that is popular with animatronic butterflies it’s named after LeBron and it’s called King of the Hill why is it a somber Edition yeah I don’t want talk about it why is it why is it possibly because of some of these people who slid off the hill let’s get these butterflies out of my face and let and let’s show you who is no longer on the hill can we I hope there it is oh come on whole I mean listen great play it’s a lot of great players I mean also you know some not great players but you know they were decent contributors on playoff teams uh but a lot of nuggets I guess that’s why wild is so sad you know it’s we a lot of these Graphics were like oh don’t worry we’ll be able to keep that one forever and we were guaranteed that the Nuggets would be on the hill for the entirety of the postseason cuz no one was beating them in a seven game series I don’t know if you guys have heard turns out the second team they played beat them in a second game series they went one for two all right bottom of the hill all right this is the type of Hill it’s going to be guys at the bottom I mean there’s only all right we have here’s the deal we have 21 spots available on the hill and there’s really only going to be 2 four guys that play serious roles in these po maybe 28 guys if each team plays six or seven guys consistently so these guys are key role players on the final four teams now Drew holiday I Colin did his you know fugazi King of the Hill earlier herd hierarchy or something and had Drew holiday in at 10th I understand the pedigree but Drew even at the end of his time in Milwaukee struggled a bit come the post season and so seeing him match up against halberton will be fun to watch seeing what NIMH hard has to do defensively against the Celtics guards will be fun if McConnell can keep it going and then a couple Mavs big men all right fifth row to me these are X Factor players particularly on the Western Conference side of the bracket will PJ Washington be able to keep up anything close to the level of play he had in round two which was if we’re being honest a little over his skis to who he’s been his career and then we saw how important Conley was the the one game the he misses a game it was we thought maybe the swing game of the series The Nuggets take control of the series turns out that’s the last game the win all year uh and then Nas Reed of course I thought was extraordinary defensively in the semi-finals all right next row top 10 guys Jaylen Brown drops not because of his own play but just cuz some other guys jumped ahead of him Rudy goar what is going to be the approach and now we did see him have an impact against the Suns in round one that stylistically might play similar to what the Mavs do but we’ll see Jaden McDaniels has his work cut out for him in guarding Luca and how is he going to be able to deal with that and Pascal sakam I would imagine is going to have to average 27 a game for the Pacers to have a chance in this series I think seak going to have to have a great great series if the Pacers have any chance now to the third row any of these three guys could be the best player on the court any given game not for the series but for any given game halberton Kyrie or Carl Anthony towns could be the best player on the court they all have been Allstars in the past they all have 35 Point and 35 Point double double potential in them for any game this series and now to the superstars remaining row two if we may reveal it Anthony Edwards stays where he was and Jason t him after a kind of rougher round one but it was easy for the team he got going again more in round two and now as we’ve discussed I think it is incumbent upon him to be excellent in this round not because they can’t win without it but so he is rolling going in to the finals and then the top of the hill the best player remaining in the postseason and a guy who is eight wins away from some people claiming he’s the best player in the world I’m not saying I will necessarily be one of those people but if Luca wins this title maybe that title is vacant the best player in the world maybe he is in the certainly he’s in the discussion and maybe it’s his we’ll see he is the player of everyone left that I trust the most he is the player of everyone left that has in my opinion the best individual postseason resume he certainly has the most playoff experience of anyone outside of the Boston Celtics and he is right now and I think going to be for the remainder of the postseason the King of the Hill through look Luca’s interesting I I don’t think he’s better than joic even if they win it I don’t know that I’ll go that far but it’s interesting because his style has been ball dominant y now this year you know with the trade it’s been better but still very ball dominant so if he can win it that way that’ll that’ll really be interesting but my change is I’m going to move Anthony Edwards to the top of the hill and switch him him and Luca switch places here’s why I I think we all would admit his degree of difficulty has been tougher right I mean he he’s had he had to go through I mean a phoenix team that obviously was star studded but most most importantly going through the defending Champions winning three of those games in Denver so he faced a stiffer competition his chore to win and get to this round was a lot more difficult than Lucas that’s number one secondly he’s had higher highs he’s had three 40o games in play luk has not hit 40 which is very surprising Luka has not had a 40o game yet and then statistically he’s been better look at these stats comparison more points per game much more efficient both from field goal or total field goals three-pointers almost 10 percentage Point better free throws better uh Steels he’s leading he leads all players left in the playoffs in points per game and steals per game you see his defensive rating solid and then the pr is significantly better than Lucas LCA would lead in assist and and rebounds that’s what he does uh equivalent but but I know this I assume you know this as yeah well Lucas yeah yeah feel like as was was you know pertinent to this oh you just thought look at all this is so you can’t say even if you throw hold on he’s got to be in every single one of those so even if you throw an assist at and rebounds that’s only two for that right but I I would say assists and rebounds are typically included before we get to Steals and defensive rally yes I mean trally that’s another reason I like Anthony Edwards look Luca has improved on the defensive end but Anthony Edwards is a stalker on the def upow Christin I direct here’s what did said hey guys give me all the categories Anthony is leading in and let’s make a be 90% of no because if even if you throw in what would you throw in that offensive rating rebounds assists asto that’s four right there I don’t know if his I doubt his offensive ra tell you doubt his offensive rating is better I think you would have put it on there if it wasn’t I checked offensive I I was full I had enough all right the my point both ends in the ball I think Luca’s better and I’m at the top all right I’m just I’m going to add I went off the board on this one I when I was looking at I should have brought I should have moved Nas Reed up Nas Reed has been haunting my nightmares just after the Nugget series Nas Reed is great Nas Reed also cracked the the Wild’s top 15 favorite players really yes well you you do like the the role players like kind of see myself in hard working leader of the team giving up Superstars for role players yeah that’s yeah that’s all I got where I’m at uh I just have an observation about King of the Hill okay if Jason kid you said if Luca wins this he might be considered best player in the world which I think it’s fascinating if Jason kid wins this Championship he will be the best player to player who what is now a coach to ever with the championship with the with put Russ on right right is this a legacy def finding 14 games or eight games minimum for Jason kid that’s a great point in absolutely I hadn’t even I didn’t hadn’t even thought about that he’s already in the Hall of Fame so it’s not like it’s going to put him in the Hall of Fame but yeah I mean then you I do think you can make the Hall of Fame multiple times you go in again you could go in as a coach mean probably would one one title I don’t think would make a of but every every coach who won a championship who also played they weren’t Superstars Tylo Kerr car is still you know Pat Riley well they’ve Billy Cunningham weren’t great Co magic yeah well so I this so interesting because on our sheet it what we have is Legacy defining run for Mavs MH and I thought when I saw that’s what you were going to talk about you were going to talk about Kyrie so this is so this is part of it so yeah everyone’s like well Kyrie’s been so great this year and everyone just kind of Sil it Kyrie loved growing up in New Jersey loved Jason kid and I think it speaks to a certain type of Superstar who needs to be coached by a fellow Superstar Nash he has Steve Nash yeah Steve Nash Ain Jason I mean a one MVPs I get it but Steve Nash not also here’s the other thing I and Kyrie didn’t look up to Steve Nash I think the generation gap helps Jason kid because Kyrie is more of kid kid is more of an elder stat Kyrie was a kid exactly that’s what I mean and so I yeah I think that there is there’s some really interesting conversations to be had about legacies if the Mavs pull this off and Kyrie goes to the Forefront of that conversation because Kyrie already has an unreal postseason resume with the Cavs and then but overall he’s got the best record in closean he’s undefeated in closeout games which is really LeBron stat but that’s fine um and then he has six years in the wilderness of the postseason you know what I mean where he’s but if he wins but if he wins as as the leader of the team because I do think he’s the emotional leader of that team and kind of but people are going to look at it as luk like going to be like but people look at it as LeBron’s but he gets massive credit for being the clear number two that’s what this would be and so yeah well let me what about throwing something well cuz Pippen is viewed as one of the greatest Batmans ever Robins ever I mean Kyrie I’ve said he’s a first ballot Hall of Famer for a long time you guys I don’t think have agreed with this would make him back oh no be the Batman of all Robins I hear what you’re saying he wouldn’t be that you think Pippen is the Batman of Robin you’re say you guys are saying he’d be the Michael Jordan of Scotty Pippen that’s what you guys are saying it’s good see you did it though you should have said LeBron I know I would but I didn’t want to just ARG with Nick a has a better offensive rating the just letting you know T Higgins and Justin Jefferson thanks
