WILD OVERTIME ENDING #6 Pacers vs #1 Celtics | Game 1 | May 21, 2024

The Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers 133-128, to take a 1-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 36 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists while Jrue Holiday (28 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists) and Jaylen Brown (26 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists) totaled 54 points. Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers with 25 points and 10 assists as Pascal Siakam (24 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists) and Myles Turner (23 points, 10 rebounds) added 47 points. Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals will take place on Thursday, May 23 (8:00 p.m. ET, ESPN).

This is the first time in Boston’s franchise history where three players totaled 25+ points in a Conference Finals game. Since the 1970-71 season (first season with Eastern and Western conferences), it’s just the ninth time it’s happened in a Conference Finals game ever.
Jayson Tatum – 36 PTS, 12 REB, 4 AST
Jrue Holiday – 28 PTS, 7 REB, 8 AST
Jaylen Brown – 26 PTS, 7 REB, 5 AST

Pascal Siakam joined Paul George as the only players in Pacers history with 25+ PTS, 10+ REB, and 5+ AST in a Conference Finals game. George did so on May 30, 2013, in a loss v the Miami Heat (27 PTS, 11 REB, 5 AST).

  1. i dont understand why tatum gets the credit all the time, his decisions are so bad. he missed both shots in the end and has the worse fg% compared to brown who shoots with way more efficiency. he also hitting big shots all the time.

  2. The Celtics did not win this game. The Pacers lost it and it was all due to bad coaching at the end of regulation. With a 3 point lead and only seconds left, the coach should have been alert enough to call a timeout after it was apparent they were not able to inbound the ball. He did not, they were forced to throw the ball and they lost it out of bounds. This is clearly on the coach. They had the game won. Celtics are not as good everyone makes them seem to be. The Pacers will win this series if they play the with the same intensity as last night.

  3. I'D LIKE TO THANK THE PACER'S FOR FINALLY MAKING THE CELTICS UNDERSTAND WHO SHOULD BE TAKING THE MONEY SHOT… PLEASE IT'S KATO OR THE JURE THE GREEN HORNET SHOULD BE USED AS A DECOY… THEN HE WILL STOP FEELING THE PRESSURE WHEN THEY DO LET HIM TAKE THE SHOT!!!😊😊😊😊😂

  4. Halliburton ruined the game for the Pacers to win and not have to go to overtime with his bad decision at the end of the game By going for a 3 point shot and missing it which he didn't need for the Pacers to win the game. All he had to do was make a 2 point shot by going right up to the basket with the ball and if he couldn't get the 2 point shot then just get the foul have the Celtics foul him to go to the free throw line to win the game by 2 points or 1 point. 1 point is all the Pacers needed to win the game since the Celtics tied the game towards the end of the game. Don't know what Halliburton was thinking going for the 3 point shot and missing it instead of going for a 2 point shot right up at the basket😩

  5. Tatum needs to relax and analyze the plays. At 1:32 before he shoots the 3, drew is wide opened. Try and go for the 2 for 1 IMO.

  6. I was at this game in the boardroom sweet. It was unreal! I'm like still on cloud 9. It was deafening loud. One of the crazy things was there were 2 people in are sweet who left with 10 seconds left. They were watching the tvs on the way out (probably trying to beat that boston traffic having kids and work 2maro) turned around and came back to their seats. It was also free t-shirt night for the entire stadium. We got there 40 mins early, and almost all the t shirts were gone (big suprise, of course, mine were) from people stealing them from other chairs. Lol. I got mine at the end of the night, tho so I'm happy about that. I will never wear it. I just wanted it for a keepsake. But let's go CELTICS! Just 7 more wins in the next 13 games and we did it!

  7. Give indy credit my Celtics may have won but Indy kept it close Tyrese is the next Reggie Miller

  8. Brown is worth every penny yes he has some turnovers and can't shot free throws that well he comes up clutch on the defensive side and offensive side that's why we paid him

  9. You know it's going to be a fun game when Mike green is calling the game that bang bang never gets old

  10. What the hell was that last shot in regulation by Halliburton. Take ball, dribble into Corner get yourself trapped.

  11. Game was fixed. Flat out, refs bailed them out of that game. The pacers gave up the ball how many times ? Didn’t foul before the Brown shot ? Or extend your arms ? Just made no sense. I wont be watching that series . I see Boston winning the series because it’s already been chosen. They weren’t going to let them lose that game. Tatum is not their best player. Brown is. Thank whoever paid the Pacers to forget how to dribble, call timeouts and not foul the inbound. Sorry fixed completely . Stupidest game I’ve seen .
