The Detroit Pistons Could Trade Their 2024 1ST Round Pick?

and there was an article from the Detroit Free Press from Mars and kopa so shout out to him says Detroit Pistons expected to shot their first round pick and this is part hi’s article that this is from clutchpoints decom they they wrote a piece uh citing Omari and it says the rumor was shared via Detroit Free Press that states the Pistons ownership including Tom owner Tom Gores does not want to risk a repeat of last season meaning all options are on the table to become a better team this off season some of the players in the range for fifth pick in 2024 for Detroit include Yukon bigman vovan kingan Kentucky guard Reed Shepard Serbian guard Nicole topic and French Wing Zachary ret according to the free press report the trade market is likely the route for the Pistons to improve the rust Detroit has roughly 64 million cap space available which ranks first in the NBA this free asany class is not expected to be strong one with former Pistons Tobias Harris Nick Clon mention his potential roster additions in that department so I think this that there was always a possibility to when we did fall the five that the Pistons would look to shop their their first overall or their their fifth overall pick um I’m not too surprised with that I wouldn’t be opposed to trading it either I mean if there’s a trade out there on the table that you feel that could make your team better maybe you trade down get a player and still get a maybe I’ll just give you a scenario maybe they trade down like late Lottery and they they get a guy like um I don’t know TJ salong uh he’s another French uh prospect that apparently they were high on but he’s he’s not going to be a lottery pick maybe they can Dr down with the team get like a you know a older veteran and draft TJ along I think that’s a possibility or they they could just altogether uh trade out of the pick and just you know get an impactful veteran on this basketball team that can contribute right now kind of sounds like the reporting that Tom Gores doesn’t want uh what happened last year and also you kind of have to read the room Monty Williams Monty Williams has been very vocal with saying he wants grown-ups in the room and you guys can like you guys have common sense he’s basically saying I don’t want a babysit a 18 19 year old on the court um I I’m I work better with veteran players so um it’s very interesting that from the free press report that you know the Pistons could possibly trade out of that fifth overall pick and try to get a a veteran to try to use their cap space to get a guy that can help Cate Cunningham now rather than you know draft a a a prospect like a ré a balis a Cody Williams a reed Shepard a Dalton connect uh because they want to win more than 14 games they they want to have you know playing aspirations it’s definitely a possibility um but I don’t know I don’t I don’t really know how many teams would really be that excited trading up the fifth given the salary that is attached with the fifth overall pick it’s around 10 million per year um I don’t really know if you know to many teams that aren’t in the top five want to trade up for the top five I don’t know am I crazy for really thinking that like that you know teams don’t want to trade up in this draft because I don’t know like I really don’t know who’s going to be there at five there could probably be like you know six to 10 Prospects that could be there at five with the Pistons could possibly draft um I don’t really know how other Executives and other teams run the league view this draft uh we’ve heard this is the weakest draft of all time I don’t really think that I think it is up there in terms of the weakest draft but I don’t think it’s the weakest draft of all time I think there’s a lot of good high level role players in this draft but definitely interesting that the Pistons are expected to at least field calls and you know shop their pick to see um if they could possibly uh move their fifth pick this year but I want like just let me know if I’m crazy like because maybe I am maybe I maybe I am crazy maybe I think that no teams are gonna want to trade up to the fifth pick like I don’t know I I don’t know too many teams that want to pay uh you know a 10 million a year salary in this draft but let me know what you guys think [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music]

  1. i can see team wanting the 5th pick, as they may try to package it with another lottery pick they have to get a pick in future or a player from a team looking to rebuild.

  2. By all accounts Atlanta is getting offers of 4th or 5th best player on each team for their 1st pick. What can Detroit expect to get for the 5th overall then?

  3. I’m okay with that! Has to be the right trade though. One that DOESN’T include trading Ausar Thompson..👍🏾

  4. The Pistons should just trade for bad contract and get draft capital. I don’t see a route for the Pistons to be good any time soon. I only expect about 30 wins next year if everything goes right

  5. There's an article going with the Wizards should trade Kyle Kuzma for Detroit 5th and Sasser. His contract for the next three years is close to 20mil and add needed space at the frontcourt
