Rockets Off-Season Preview

What's up guys. I wrote a post previewing the off-season for the Rockets. I went over the active contracts, free agents, top priorities/team needs, and best fits in the draft and free agency. Y'all have a great group of young players and it's exciting to see where this team goes. I hope the front office doesn't look to get a star just yet, so the young guys have another year or two to develop. Would you rather run it back or go star hunting?

Check out the post and let me know what you think!

Overall nice write up, but Lol’d at your FA fits…Holiday & Bullock? Not working too hard there! 😂

    >We know they want to win now, but going after a star player may hinder the development of their young players.

This year we had Fred hindering the development of AlP (as a distributor… obviously not as a PnR partner), Amen as a PG, and Jalen as a focal point (not to mention ignoring Jabari to an extent where he actually shot the ball less often than last year when we literally didn’t run plays for him!)

Dillon was a positive influence, but took too many shots, imo, too.

What I’m getting at is that I don’t worry about how a star would impact the team’s development (aside from obviously who we’d lose to acquire said star)…

But if that star is truly a difference maker worth trading for, there’s no real harm in how it will affect the young core’s usage, because Ime already leans heavily on the vets…so it’s just a question of how big an upgrade over FVV/DB is available (and again, the acquisition cost).
