I don’t endorse listening to clowns felger and mazz but it was nice to hear them getting cooked on their own show for trying to make the discussion about “what if jaylen missed the shot” and how it was a “moral defeat”

  1. What a dumb argument anyway. What if he missed the shot? Yea you could say that about any shot or play. What if Hondo or Bird don’t steal the ball?

That’s how narratives are created. They often come down to one or two plays and that’s all the difference between being clutch, heart, grit vs. a fraud, choker, soft, don’t care, etc.

“Hey green teamers, consider this: what if they had moved the team to Albany in the 1960s and this series never happened”

  3. At least someone has common sense. What happened to loving the team and celebrating clutch wins. Why must we make false scenarios. It’s like being positive is a germ.

Stopped listening to Felger and Mazz (and all local sports radio) a long time ago, honestly. They don’t believe half the shit they say, it’s all meant to create controversy and ratings. The sad part is that a lot of people fall for it.

This would’ve been perfect if he ended it with “so put that basketball up your a## F&M”. Still love that burn Wyc gave F.

A meteor hitting that studio would be the greatest day in Boston sports since the Red Sox championship.

(And nobody was hurt reddit mods, please don’t ban me)

    Isn’t felger a bucks/packers fan anyways?

  8. It was the briefest of fresh air before that idiot Stewart interjected with more stupid shit.

Yes, we should all stop talking about could haves. Here’s your daily philosophy:

There is error in the word “should” which represents a hypothetical. The hypothetical is never reality and is actually an idealized abstraction. The hypothetical should therefore represents a fantasy.

  10. Bookmarking that rant – it’s so spot on.

I’ve been wondering if the national broadcasters and sports media are afraid to focus on the Celtics too much or heap anything more than very short praise on them because how many anti-Celtic people there are watching.

Couching praise talk around expectations isn’t unjust or undue – I just kind of think everyone on both sides are specifically sick of hearing that talked about. As annoyed as we Celtics fans are with it I would guess that other people are also sick of hearing about it when we come up. Let’s talk about the stats. Let’s talk about the plays. Focus on that.

Then it can become “Sorry that we were 1st in the league in wins and top 1-5 in many other metrics. You’re welcome to turn off the broadcast lol.”

Seriously. If they win by 25 then it’s “they’re front runners, they can’t win close games”. And if they win a close game it’s “they should be blowing these teams out.” No matter what they do, they can’t win.

So glad Dondero is getting some love. I worked with him when he was working in TV and he was always so hype. Need more of this not these sooner as takes that just generate rage clicks and shit comments

At the end of the day, the other team is trying to beat you just as much as you are trying to beat them. Missing a shot isn’t a criminal offense. Did the celtics play the best game they are capable of? No. But they won, and at the end of the game, that’s what matters.

but man, I love this team. I wish they played more up-tempo, and that they varied the offense more, but I get it, it’s their style and they just waste the first 8 seconds of each possession dribbling for a bit.

  15. Felger and Mazz SUCK. I get having a contrarian take and debating because it makes for good radio, but these guys are just flat out haters. The show is unlistenable.

  16. ClappedCheek

im glad these two have been completely irrelevant in my life for well over a decade. never listen to them. Only ever remember their existence when posts like these are made here.

    Fuck em both.

  17. ericdeben

Felger and Mazz won’t be satisfied with any win other than a chip. If it’s a clutch game, they want it to be a blowout. If it’s a blowout, they say the Celtics can’t win in the clutch.

I’ve never heard then and have no interest in ever listening to them based on what people post here. Sports radio has been trash for as long as it has existed. I mean, Mad Dog Russo was one of the early stars of WFAN and was already impossible for me to listen to in the 80s.

Let’s give the spotlight to better shows/presenters

I can honestly say I’ve never listened to Felger and Mazz. They seem insufferable.
