MAJOR Trade INCOMING… Wizards Projected to TRADE for Josh Giddey | OKC Thunder News

more reports and inside information have been coming out about Josh giddy potentially being traded this off season as it’s looking like he is the odd man out with this starting group and young core that the Oklahoma City Thunder have while they’re trying to compete for a championship for years to come what up it’s Bry sens here with another Thunder digest video for you guys today before we get all this though I want to take a moment recognize you guys hit that 800 subscriber goal in a matter of two days you guys absolutely crushed it so instead of setting it for 900 by the end of the week increasing it by 100 let’s go ahead get to 1,000 by the end of the month we can celebrate we can do something big for that you guys are some of the best fans out there like I said before you guys are family here Thunder Nation you guys are the absolute best and the support you guys have been showing is phenomenal so go ahead thousand by the end of the month and like I’ve said before if you enjoy the content you find yourself coming back go ahead hit that subscribe button now we can finally get into what what I mean about Josh giddy this odd man out and how he’s potentially being traded this off season as there have been more tweets coming out by the dunk Central um and also some NBA insiders that have inside information about what’s going to happen in this offseason as the latest tweet that I found are the betting odds and if you know anything about betting odds these are inside information that they have along with speculations is that the Washington Wizards are the favorites to win the Josh giddy sweep stakes and I love how they call him the sweep Stakes even though a bunch of people consider Josh giddy this guy that’s not really a you know organization turning player although I think he has a ton of potential and can still be great in this league and be a guy that averages 18 points a game and close to a triple double as well but when you go into that we’re going to look at the odds some more you have the Wizards at number one with plus 450 and if you remember we just had that Denny video I did not too long ago and then the Utah Jazz as well at plus 500 with Lori uh there I talked about how he’s potentially the trade piece that the Thunder would Target from that team we’d probably trade gidy and uh oo along with two of our picks for him the Wizards I could see just guiney and a pick or two for Denny but then you also have teams like the Knicks at plus 500 tied uh I don’t know who would we get from the Knicks to being honest maybe Mitchell Robinson if he’s healthy uh that’s something to be interesting at and so I’m something else I’m going to mention here is you guys are looking at these odds all these teams I’m curious what you guys think these teams would trade for a guy like Josh goody like the Miami he at plus 800 the Pistons at plus 700 uh even the Spurs and Raptors on there they’re no the odds aren’t in their favor by any means but it’s got me thinking who are some guys that they could actually trade to us that we would accept giving away Josh giddy because there are really only three uh three guys maybe even four if Mitchell Robinson stays healthy if we and he has a big problem with his injuries he’s not the healthiest guy in the world it’s just a matter of what this injury is going to look like with him coming back from it and so the four guys I could see us actually trading giddy to those teams would be Lori Denny Mitchell Robinson and then uh bam those are the four guys I could see us trying to trade for if we’re going to trade Josh Guinea and the guys that I think teams would actually look into especially if the heat as they might try to go into a little rebuilding phase which is kind of interesting what they have going on there and guys might be wondering too Bryson what do you mean the what do you mean the Thunder are going to trade Gizzy what or giddy why like how do you know this why what have you seen showing that they’re looking to shop him around well there’s also something else I thought about making a video on I sat on it and it’s perfect for this one the Thunder are widely expected to shop Josh Giddy and trade talks this off season who has now become extension eligible OKC will likely attempt to trade giddy alongside of some of their 13 future first round picks to secure an impact player who is a cleaner rotation fit so as you can see there there’s inside information showing that gidd is going to be shopped around looking to be traded get someone else that could fill in his shoes there and like I said before if we trade for Lori Markin who only has eight who’s only worth $18 million right now on his last year of his contract if you trade gidy and us that’s a combined I believe $12 million right there we just have to pay him five million $5 million right there that leaves us I believe anywhere from $25 to $28 million in cap space to go get another guy and like I mentioned in the video yesterday the video I published last time about uh monk it could be that perfect situation there he can fill in and take over that role for gidy or potentially be the six-man for us on this team but there’s also a silver lining to this like I said before I think giddy has a ton of potential and I would hate to see him go especially after his end of season interview and press conference that he had about how he had a tough time this season I know everyone knows what he was going through we’re not going to talk about it everyone knows what it is but I feel I don’t want to say I feel bad for the guy because when he was drafted I was always high on him I I believed in this guy ever since he was drafted and he had some good years he did he had some good Seasons as you can see here his rookie his rookie all 54 games played 31 minutes a game uh 41% from the field it was just as three-point shooting was a liability as everyone saw but averaging 12 uh 12 eight and six a game with almost a steal game right there but on three turnovers those are pretty good numbers for your rookie season it got him all rookie first team got him all rookie first team there then the next season he jumped up a ton he jumped up a ton went to 48% shooting from the field started in 76 games only miss six the entire season and jumped up to 16 points a game eight rebounds again stayed at six assists as well his turnovers went down and then defensively say to right around the same but his shooting numbers improved there at 32% from behind the arc and 73% from the line and then this past season he jumped down in points again some of that is expected though with the addition of chat on the team finally him actually playing uh so Josh gidy was never the second or third option like he you know was the past uh two season his first two seasons here but he started in 80 games and of course he didn’t really have a great start to the season either as we know what was going on however his three-point numbers went up with his shooting percentage there his free throw numbers went up and then rebounding and assist they went down just slightly just slightly not by much though his turnovers went down as well they went down slightly of course with the less minutes of play but he wasn’t this third option anymore he wasn’t this guy that was facilitating the ball whole time we have Playmakers on the team finally it wasn’t just him passing the ball around SGA is turning in more of a playmaker and a passer day by day JB’s not bad either Lou dorts getting there and then Chad holgren being able to space out this floor and find an open guy where he can get some rebounds as well in there and some a few assists there really opens up this offense and Josh giney like I said he has a ton of potential he does he’s had these bursts he’s had these bursts where he can be this guy when you look at these stats here October and November it was all right he was playing about how I believe everyone expected him to be with 12 points a game being this fourth to fifth option on the team not really a guy that’s looking to score shooting 40% in October then 44 in November three-point shooting wise wasn’t the great though wasn’t the best though uh wasn’t that great uh rebound and assist numbers about where we expected defensively playing well turnovers are down and then after everything that happened you can tell he kind of fallen off a little bit there not playing as many minutes as he was getting all the way down to around 23 on average per game then in March he jumped backed up again after the allar break he jumped backed up 16.3 points per game in March when he was finally that third option again that third second option on the team like he was for years to come you can see those glimpses and uh Shivers of him shimmers of him being this top guy that can actually be a reliable third option on a team and B you know I don’t want to say a role player but one of the better players on a team that’s rebuilding or competing April he played well um when you look at it 13 points per game there uh eight rebounds seven or am I reading that right yeah eight rebounds seven assists sometimes I get mixed up on these stats here pre-all-star break like we said we know before the All-Star break he was struggling 11.5 points per game even thinking about training him and then after 14 points per game when s went down with injury I say went down with injury him and Jay du I think were more resting up even when JB came back Josh giddy was still acting like he was the second third option scoring wise even though we still had Lou Dort and some other guys starting in their places that are more known to be offensive uh scoring guys than Josh giddy is but yet he had the that confidence and he was shooting the ball quite well and so it just goes to show he has a ton of potential it’s just looking like he’s this odd man out with this group and it’s horrible like I want us to keep this group that we have because we have a good thing going on right now however like I said before he just he’s not really like when we get to contract talks we trying to keep chat jdub SJ our top three guys lud Dort as well those four guys years to come it just comes down to the point where you have to make a choice do you want to keep Josh ginea and then potentially lose one of those other guys or would you like to keep those four guys and then lose Josh Guinea and then try to build around them about build a roster around them and so it just comes down to kind of that standpoint and then ultimately I believe the decision will be okay he’s going to expect a good amount of money because he has he has potential he’d probably expect anywhere from 20 from 20 to $25 million a year and we just don’t have the kind of money to afford and spin on him especially if we trying to keep Chad Jade up after um their uh once their contract eligible for extension trying to keep sgaa trying to keep him as long as possible some of our other bench guys as well that are key players this group so it just comes down to ultimately GID is probably going to have to go just because um expenses wise and playwise he just is the odd man out here but I’m men to what you guys think like who we’re going to trade gidy for and this is also just a you know it’s potential we’re shopping him around nothing set in stone he’s being traded but shopping him around who you guys think he would be traded for and who do you think would be the best fit for a trade to come onto this team but that’s all I got for this video and I’ll see you guys in the next one

Josh Giddey was expected to be traded during the regular season, but it never happened. Now with the off-season heating up, many teams are interested in him with the Wizards being the front runners. Bryson Akins talks about how Giddey could be the odd man out and be traded during the summer.

  1. Grew up a Wizards Fan, moved to OKC over a decade ago and became a Thunder fan. Would love to see him with my old team and maybe even move Kuzma over to OKC in exchange for Giddey and a pick or two. That would be the cherry on top.

  2. Come down to money plus Giddy is to slow, defense sub-par and doesn't play with emotions you gotta have emotion to play basketball wish him well.😊

  3. I am a DC native & long life Washington Wizards fan. To give you a fans perspective, Deni isn’t going anywhere. He was extended for four years on a team friendly contract. He was voted as one of the most improved players in 2024. His defense is elite. He shot almost 40% from three & he’s only 23 years old.

There is no way DC fans will be happy if Deni is traded for Josh Giddey. Deni can also play point forward and he’s getting better at that. The 12th pick in this years draft isn’t enough for Deni🤷🏾‍♂️. Sorry

  4. We’re not giving y’all deni and majority don’t want giddy here…wiz better not bring giddy here lol.

  5. Im not privy on the numbers, but just you mentioning Thunder/Wizards made me think of us bringing Kuzma over.

  6. Didnt thunderless just trade away a number of first round picks not another first round pick being traded away if you dont learn from past mistakes and keep on making the same decisions again thunderless past present and future
