So It Begins the Eastern Conference Finals kicks off on a beautiful sunny day in Boston where Jason Tatum and the Celtics have been sitting pretty for almost a week waiting to take on their next opponent standing in their way of return trip to the finals meanwhile the Pacers are coming off a grueling seven game series against the Knicks and a historic win Sunday in Madison Square Garden can they ride that momentum into TIY Garden against the top seated Seas game one is just 30 minutes away and we’re getting you set for all the action right now and hello welcome into hoop streamy so this is the Celtics entertainment team getting the Vibes right Cassie listen and they came here fully prepared ready to go game one Eastern Conference Finals and they were just saying that they put these on at the last second cuz the all white the Clean Home whites you got to keep them crispy especially for game one of the Eastern Conference Finals you know what I’m talking about ready looking good ready appreciate you guys getting the mood set for us we know that you know you have more important things like getting the mood right for the players so thank you so much as we get into sure hoop streams being back come on I’m excited Cy a familiar scene the Celtics in the Easter Conference Finals can they punch a ticket to the NBA finals again also small shout out to aapi Heritage mon come on the two come on the half polish guy the German exactly exactly okay let’s get this going um so much to look forward to look we were waiting just like the Celtics to find out who their opponent was corre game seven happened how are you feeling about the matchup between the Pacers and Celtics so everybody knew that it was was like okay nobody in the Pacers Nick Series has lost the game on home court all the momentum is with the Knicks they’re going to be at near full strength Whispers of OG anobi being able to play yes okay that didn’t happen he came out limp Jaylen Brunson fractures his hand and the Indiana Pacers who led this season in scoring live up to that right historic shooting night as a company person I’m like give us Celtics give us Knicks I want to go from garden to Garden like I’m an farmer just like harvesting produce who’s got the best Garden so like that part of me was like that kind of stinks Boston New York they hate each other but the basketball part of me Cassie I don’t know if you agree is like okay Boston Z by the Pacers are healthy they’re offensive juggernauts let’s say and the Celtics they might have the roster to stop them Drew holiday Derek white just getting annointed to more all NBA Defensive teams so it’s a clash between an offensive Titan and a defensive roster that should be able to stop him and but look here Rick carile even fully embraced the idea he’s he he said that we are the uninvited guests into the uh final four but he also pointed out that they have earned it I mean they went six against the Bucks correct and then they went seven against the Knicks correct and you can argue that the Boston Celtics had the easiest route here hey you got to play who’s on the schedule right attrition for being what it is all right they caught the heat when Jimmy Butler couldn’t play obviously Donovan Mitchell was banged up for the Cavaliers but but let’s not pretend Cassidy that the Pacers are some like playing team this is the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference they have all stars they have franchise guys they made a big trade to get a pascal cakam in there to be another weapon offensively it’s not like these guys are Uninvited they’ve been getting to this point they are very much a worthy Contender okay so we’re coming to you live on YouTube Facebook and the ESPN app so we’re an internet show right so let’s let’s see what the internet says about that’s a tricky place this match up that could be a dangerous place and Gary let’s get your reaction to some of these and first up we got NBA Twitter SLX Elite Josiah eclipse joke in there somewhere and listen that’s pretty valid and some might argue that we might see another solar eclipse before we see the Knicks in position to get to another Eastern Conference Final it’s been what since 1999 they haven’t made one this millennum okay I don’t know when the next solar eclipse is going to be I think actually I think 74 years I asked you for an eclipse a joke and you delivered okay let’s move on to the next one um you know I feel like Larry Bird is stressing and so so come on like who does who’s he rooting for here in the Easter Conference Finals we understand Larry Legend Indiana State Legend front office coach of the year with the Pacers with the Pacers coach of the year but listen so many of these 17 Banners are hanging in the new TD Garden because of what Larry bir Celtics were able to do in the 80s so I feel like listen there’s a Indiana through there’s a couple people that are associated with this particular series and a possible NBA final series that are going to be housing we’ll get into Kevin Garnett too but yeah Larry man don’t forget where you came from don’t forget who let you hang up Rafters in this building by the way I don’t think we’re ever going to find out who he roooting for because um Larry Bird doesn’t like to be seen yeah listen so we’re not going to know he’s not he’s not a social media guy I put it very percentage that he shows up but it’ be awesome if he did um all right the next one this was very interesting uh priority Pacers uh tweeted this halberton beat his hometown bucks in round one OB toen got revenge on his hometown and former team the Knicks in round two now n Smith gets an opportunity to get his revenge on the Celtics with a trip to the NBA finals on the line um do you think that this Revenge narrative is going through the Celtics or the Pacers locker room which I think is hilarious right like Tyreese hurn is a max player Obi topid right drafted heavily and highly out of this Knicks franchise and listen Aaron n Smith he was a first round pick yes it was overall but like he played 98 games with the Celtics he averaged a whopping Cassie a whopping four points per game but I will tell you it when his his nickname is Crash okay he hustles all over the court he can lock down he a lock down Defender so he’s going to be the type of player that Celtics fans are going to hate watching I love revenge and you’ve been around this Celtics team this Pacers team the elite crop of the Eastern Conference so you know the inner goings on more than anybody else who’s watching the program who’s been around these NBA circles so you tell me is there an air of Revenge for aaroni I don’t know I don’t think so all right she she doesn’t want to give away the industry of Secrets just yet I get it all right let’s let’s to our last and final one and and you you mentioned kg um he said in his podcast that he was absolutely going to root for both the Timberwolves and Celtics if they end up playing each other in the finals so do you think he needs the pick one no he get what’s the difference he gets the the Timberwolves drafted this guy out of high school he was one of the last players who was allowed to get drafted out of high school and before LeBron James was able to answer the call and all the expectations Kevin Garnett did right he put Minnesota on the map but then in the Twilight of his career of course he had to come to Boston to get his first and only Larry O’Brien so he gets the pass and honestly Cassie this is sort of how I felt rooting for the Nuggets being a Denver guy but having family in Boston listen me over anybody was room for a nugget Celtic NBA Finals cuz either way either way it happened I would have been happy I mean we don’t even know if um kg is going to have that dilemma because the Mavs and the Pacers may have something else to say about that um okay so one thing the internet loves is to talk about NBA fashion and let’s get into it we got to sneak we got s an oldie but goodie let’s walk it out and see how the guys into the Arena tonight and we’re going to start with Miles Turner who um who often you know kind of surprises with his NH team to root for you got to switch things up a little bit Yeah the Bruins out of it oh is that the Hillary KN pie yeah that’s that’s nice oh how about okay you were talking about jayen cuz it it’s hot outside here what I’m going to say right now Cassidy and maybe you’ll agree with me the Corduroy was a choice it was a choice notable fabric tell you tell me Miss New York City all right you’re like a aniche you know what I mean like a echo unlimited piece you know what I mean and everything is sort of cyclical it’s on two decade rotations so this will be hot in 2005 like it’s hot right now yeah I mean he’s walking in here like he’s been here before cuz CU has been here Celtics have been Easter comence final six of the last8 years exactly so given that um the Celtics have been on the stage Tre straight Conference Finals we’re very familiar with them on the stage Pacers however haven’t reached the stage in a decade so we want to play a little game um do you remember the game Guess Who yes I’m terrible at it I can’t wait to be terrible again so we’re going to do guess who Pacers Edition I’m going to give you some Clues and then you know this is going to be you know fun facts this isn’t I’m this is not you I love a fun fact you know I love a fun fact okay so we’re going to do player number one okay this player started playing organized basketball at the age of 18 he won most improved player in 2019 and has ongoing beef with Joel Envy comeback Player of the Year 2019 started playing there’s two players in my head that I can think of but I’m pretty sure that’s Pascal the Rascal okay spicy P you are ring one for one so seak and embiid had some battles over the years B Cameroon obviously seak has said it’s all love after letting MB know he’s a fake tough guy um but Gary at least sakam is still in the playoffs you know hasak also a graduate of I believe God’s Academy I want to say or like Jesus Academy something so you’re bringing more fun facts well I don’t know if those are necessarily facts they’re more assumptions but no but seak has been a game changer for them um you know that too that pick up and it’s going to be even more evident as we actually hone in on the basketball aspect of this the Pacers in this last series they fed inside in the paint they were banging down low between he by the way but Chas porzingis the paint starting presence is going to miss at least the first two games with that c strange so with Pascal and Ty re and Miles Turner Obi Topp and attacking the paint that’s going to be an area of weakness for the Celtics all right let’s get in more to learning more about these Pacers okay uh player number two this player is no longer devouring eight slices of pizza in one meal transformed his body by taking up yoga and has a passion for connecting miniature building blocks into works of art Legos Miles Turner you know why easy you know why cuz I called the Lego factory today before our production call and I was like we got Miles Turner in the Eastern Conference Finals can we please take a tour of the Lego factory and the Lego Representatives got back to me and were like we would love to have you and Cassidy come take a tour of Lego H look got transformation by the way shout out yoga yeah actually he shredded up right there yo that that hot yoga man that is and now this is his Lego um collection oh yeah that’s a that’s that’s a picture made out of Lego he’s got a life-sized Darth Vader in his house and listen I’m a I’m a I I am a that is a full life size I’m an appreciator of Legos wait did you see that was my ster as Darth Vader that probably cost him $10,000 to acquire all of those Lego bits are so expensive um all right last and final player this player’s birthday only happens once every four years his cousin is Jaylen Suggs and he’s an avid WWE Fan once having skipped a charter team flight to stay in town and catch a fast lane event oh yeah brother I think that’s Tyrese halber brother three for three you know these faers yeah brother not many people know this about Tyrese halber he looks like a guy that’s into WWE he absolutely loves the WWE um and you can see why I mean oh hell yeah that’s awesome yeah he he strikes me as a guy who’s heavy into WWE all right so look they got a lot of great personalities on this team um I’m excited to see I look at with him with John Cena I’m excited to see how that develops that’s the interesting part to see like who gets you know we saw it a little bit with the Knicks and Pacers they got they got into it here and there um TJ McConnell is always going to be a big personality um but it’s time now for uh Define greatness brought to you by tiso as Gary we’re down to the final four teams right and I want to show you this image and get your thoughts okay who do you want to see win their first title of these four guys and why okay I think the middle two guys they will get there but we’re talking about Luca who’s barely 25 Anthony Edwards who’s still 22 Tyrese haliburn still needs to he’s having a fantastic playoffs it’s Jason Tatum he’s been in the league the longest he’s going on over a half dozen years in the league he’s led a Celtics team to this stage of the playoffs a handful of times already he’s tasted the bitterness of losing in NBA finals on this home court two season ago to the Golden State Warriors nobody is asking or nobody’s questioning his validity as a Bonafide Superstar or a franchise player but we’ve seen it happen often in the NBA like there’s small Windows Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown are going to be here for a while but when you have the roster that has the ability to win a championship you have to take advantage of that right like look how quick the the fall off for the Warriors was right so it has to be Jason Tatum yeah I mean look tyes halberton a first time allar he you know showed up in the inseason tournament big stage I mean he’s he’s definitely been putting himself in the spotlight but I don’t think anyone has any expectations for him this year in terms of Anthony Edwards He’s arrived but people are still just excited about his arrival and’s 22 I think Luca and Jason are on similar kind of playing fields in terms of people getting impatient with them um and I think there’s a little too the way that Luca’s style of play he complains a lot to people are get tired of that but I think ultimately I agree with you it is Jason Tatum because he’s been on this stage so many years and he plays for a franchise that has 17 banners talking to Joe Missoula he basically said that he thinks people are just impatient with his success um and so that’s the criticism around um Jason Tatum and you know if they don’t make it this time around yeah then well luuka has a Supporting Cast this year and look where they’re at the Western Conference Finals again right so and and it’s still crazy to think that they’re still only 25 26 and then you compare it to say like a shay Gilder Alexander who’s also 2526 but everyone’s like we haven’t seen you on this stage so it is the ultimate compliment to Jason Tatum that people have these expectations of him um but I don’t think the criticisms are going to die down anytime City not in this city and not on this stage all right we are counting down a game one of the Eastern Conference Finals which you can stream live on your ESPN and for only the fourth time since 1970 when the NBA established conferences the top two scoring teams in the league will meet here in the Conference Finals and the first time in the East the Celtics and Pacers met five times during the regular season thanks to an additional meeting in the for finals of the inseason tournament they combined to average 245 points per game against one another slightly above their combined season averages and we are now welcomed by the one and only Tim bonam um as I thees side it’s okay look we got a lot to get into as we are counting down to the start of this game um you know the players are about to um so let’s go here first chrisop springz what’s the latest you can tell us about his status and when we could possibly see him so as heard your words andow suppored Chris spingus will not play in either game one or two of this series he could come back as the series moves to Indiana later on the Celtics obviously are the heavy favorites in this series they don’t feel a need to rush him back before he’s ready at the same time they’d also love to get him back on the court for a potential trip to the NBA finals against either Minnesota or Dallas to get his legs under him and get him going the hope he continue to recover from this calf injury come back sometime in the next week will be a 3 to four weeks from when he injured it it’s about the normal timeline for recovery and we’ll see if he’s back on the court soon physically in every other way that’s a gaping G presence that’s not going to be into paint especially for a Pacers team who has been attacking the heck out of the paint how much do you think Indianapolis is going to try to take advantage of that more than they necessarily normally would if Chris was healthy well listen you go back to December 5th when they played in Indianapolis and the pace was beat the Celtics to go to the Las Vegas semifinals of the n Season tournament Chris house in a SK Play Tyrese so tyres halber has the ability to control this series if you can get the pain and get the shot get guys out on the perimeter open threes that is when he’s at his best that’s when the Pacers are at their best and the critical thing for Boston is going to be keeping halberton out of the paint obviously got Drew holiday and and Derek white’ also got Al Horford can switch on of those guys along with Jason T and jayen brown but without porzingis they’ve got to keep him on the perimeter and not let him get into the paint by the way I just I had to I had to point out the booze because this crowd is always ready you know the Boston Celtics crowd TD Garden is a fantastic crowd um and they they they showed up on time today Conference Finals game one now you mentioned Derek white and you mentioned Drew holiday they were both named to the second uh all defensive team uh Alex guso put out a tweet oh it’s interesting it’s all guards um I did not have drew holiday on my ballot on at all what did you think about both those guys making the second team I had Alex Caruso and Derek white on my first team all defensive ballot becoming positionist was very dumb because it it puts you in a position where if you’re we’re really ranking it out the most impactful defensive players are always bigs so you’re going to have this thing where you got all guards on the second team which doesn’t make any sense I didn’t mind the way they’ve always been I had two guards and three front Court players I think Al cruser and Derek white has two best defensive guards in the league I’d had them on first team but you know at least they all got on to one of them and got the Merit that they deserve for their for those wondering I had kavus C pul on my uh second game as well yeah it’s hard it’s hard and specifically keying in on a one one match up what’s Indiana’s plan uh plan for Jason Tatum I mean they’ve got a really Johnny Hol staff it they don’t have a lot of great options they’re going to start with Aaron neith on him almost certainly neith obviously played for the Celtics was traded there a couple years ago is it we were talking about this earlier do you think there’s a re plays like his hair’s on fire on noral day he’s going to be flying around like crazy tonight they’re going to need him to not get in foul trouble he hacks a lot they need him to stay on the court cuz they don’t have anybody else to guard Tatum or brown that’s really the key for Boston the series those guys keep going indiaa doesn’t really have a count there’s not many people who can guard T these guys are a bad defensive team like everybody talks about they got better after trading for Pascal seak they were 19th after the trade deadline of defense they’re not a good defensive team they win with their offense and brown get going they don’t have any way to stop them speaking of that offense real quick I saw the over under it was 20 220 A2 Indiana averages over 12 three matching the over I saw that 2202 and I thought that was very very low is there any reason that they saw that and thought I mean I guess the way the playoffs have been called maybe to me I would bet the over on that I feel good about these are the two best offensive teams in the league and the Bas don’t stop anybody and they shooting the lights out how does that carry over from one Arena to another it does if we’ve seen anything in these playoffs is that momentum really doesn’t matter at all and to me the question about this whole series is how serious are the bosses Celtics so 15 and 14 at home over the past we playoffs 18 and seven on the road they messed around at home time and again and it’s called I had that conversation with Jason Tatum when they after they lost to the Cavs in game two which by the way game two is what we’re going to circle to see if that Trend continues they drop game two at home against the Heat they Dro game two at home against the Cavs are they going to do that again against Indiana how do you see this series playing out listen Al Horford this morning talked about the fact that it’s a luxury that they’ve had time off between series that’s because the Celtics always shoot themselves in the foot and have their series go longer than they should you look at the way these playoffs have laid out they got injured teams in the first two rounds they have a heavily Underdog Pacers team that frankly would not have likely gotten here had not they played heavily inel teams in the last two rounds they have Denver who was their biggest opponent on the other side of the bracket out of the pitchure got the heavy favorite sh to win the title they cannot mess around what do you think about the narrative that they’ve had the easiest path to the EAS that stuff doesn’t matter what matters is you can say whatever you want about the path they got to do what’s in front of them for years theyed themselves by playing extra games getting tired they got to take care of business they got to win this series in five games and give themselves a break before the finals cuz I think we all agree Minnesota and Dallas is going to be a slug F those teams are coming off slug Fest you’re the Celtics you win this in five you get a week at home to rest and get ready for the finals puts them in Prime position to finally get Banner 18 in the raap we were talking just before before you join of the superstars remaining in this playoffs is Jason Tatum under the most pressure to actually deliver don’t don’t question because they’re the heaviest favorites to win if any of these other teams lose no one’s going to say anything it’s going to be a successful season Dallas and Minnesota break it through makeing the finals huge Boston you you Indiana obviously they’ve already had a massive success of the season winning g m for them right now this is house money for Indiana for sure the Celtics have all the pressure on them the Nuggets were the one team you looked at and said they don’t lch up well with them they’ll beat them in the clut they’re out of the picture they really should win the title and if they don’t it’s going to come back to Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown this is the time for them to deliver the path is open wide open for them got to go through the door and win the title now I wanted to follow up one more time about the shooting that can transfer from Madison Square Garden where you got Tyrese halber shooting 60% from the field over 40% from three how easily do you think they can try to get that to replicate here I mean I don’t think I mean the nice thing for Indiana is what we were just talking about they have absolutely no pressure on nobody thinks they’re going to win the series nobody thinks it’s going to be all that competitive they have an incredible offensive team they can come in and just bomb away and if they lose they lose no one’s going to say a word to him so is it a double-edged sword for Rick carile knowing that the interior defense is susceptible also though knowing that they shoot so well from the perimeter like pick your poison here Indiana’s entire defensive approach is to not let the other team shoot threes and then they’ll worry about the rest so the Celtics are going to get opportunities to drive to the basket they’ve got to score I’m watching D white behind me up I mean that’s the whole thing though Indiana’s going to say get to the rim and score and then we’ll have Miles Turner at The Rim that’s what they’re going to do Boston’s got to be effective getting the rim and finishing and not getting frustrated if they either Miss lups inside or if they don’t get the three-point attemps that they like I love it all right so I heard you say five you think this is going to be Celtics and five I pick Celtics and six cuz I don’t trust them however let’s see them win in five cuz they should if they do to me that’s a great sign for them going forward and they should win game one you don’t trust them they have shown they have shown no reason to be trusted they need to win the series and five what you what are you going win I’m going Celtics and six because I do trust them but I also know that Indiana’s a very good basketball team with nothing to lose and if they get hot they shoot the freaking lights out and we saw them do that in New York let’s see this team win these two games at home final I think Celtics win tonight I’m
