Mavericks steal Game 1 from the Timberwolves, Can Dallas win the NBA Title? | What’s Wright?

uh what let’s talk game one Mavs wolves yes so the Mavericks obviously stole game one from the Timberwolves uh the Mavs have lost both of their game ones previously so nobody was really picking him but except for you and momes confidently said on the show that he thought the Mavs were going to lose so how important was it that the Mavericks stole that game one oh I listen oh there is not been a single day yeah you’re in front you’re at Lucas hookas there’s not been a single day in the Mavericks franchise since the finals the 2011 finals where you woke up a Mavs fan and you were more likely to win the title than right now but the the Mavs stealing that game when they hit 6 threes and Minnesota hit 18 is not supposed to happen fifth time in NBA playoff history that a team has hit 12 or more threes than their opponent and lost the game and Luca starting this series Without seemingly engaging in a blood Feud with the officials is a super positive sign Kyrie recogn like Kyrie I think recognizes cuz he hasn’t played playoff runs in so long his body’s broken down a bit he doesn’t necessarily have four quarters of flamethrower in him anymore so he’s been modulating and in the previous round he was kind of you know playing more of a floor game Distributing in the first half this game he emptied the clip I’m sorry he was in the previous round more in the second half this game he emptied the clip in the first half and uh and then Luca carried him home and Luca carried him home on both ends of the Court the pass breakup he made on the lb was the biggest play of the game his D on the perimeter was B+ and his offense is always unbelievable he made one of the best passes of the NBA season a full court on a rope bounce pass and then it ended up being a block dunk so he didn’t even get an assist for it it didn’t be in a five-point swing uh and the Mavs now are significant favorites there’s only been one series ever that Lucas played in where they won game one they did end up losing that series that was a series against the Clippers uh when they won games one and two in Los Angeles I think Chris staps thing got hurt uh but regardless they ended up losing that Series in seven games the right now the Mavs look like a team that can win the championship and man if it’s Luca versus your Celtics Damon that’s gonna that’s gonna be great for this show and go ahead you seems like you I mean that that’ll be very interesting I’m I’m I’ll be honest I was I feel like I was saying was the team that uh that the Celtics would not be worried about if we saw in the finals yes but I don’t want to you know annoy you or anything but um but yeah I definitely did say that at one point so we’ll see um I’m a lot I’m a lot more scared of the Timberwolves with that that rudic go be Carl Anthony towns combo because I don’t think we have too much to combat that uh well right now you don’t you would have to have Chris steps back and for them but the the Mavs Frontline rotation packs a little bit of an offensive punch but more importantly what the Tim Timberwolves dealt with last night and sorry Daniel but it’s true against the nuggets the Timberwolves big men had no they they faced no resistance at The Rim the yic was not very solid defensively in that series the Nuggets don’t have any other bigs that are going to provide any Rim protection and for Carl Anthony towns and Rudy goar and even Nas Reed there was no res Anthony Edwards too no resistance at The Rim the Mavs remade defense is just a different story what were you saying Daniel sorry Daniel sets in my ear maybe I missed it oh he just said true he’s agreeing with me yeah if you’re a Mavs fan you’ve got to be feeling great hey thanks for watching hit the Subscribe button to get more from the show make sure to click the Bell to get notified every time new content drops check out full episodes of what’s right whereever you get your podcast or just click the link in the description below
