[The Athletic] The Pistons could be open to moving on from head coach Monty Williams. Sources tell The Athletic that owner Tom Gores will eat the rest of the money if new president of basketball operations Trajan Langdon wants to bring in a new coach.

   Monty is very close to AD and was a good coach in Phoenix before taking the crappy Pistons job. What do you guys think?

   I have no idea why Phoenix fired him just to trade Ayton, and I don’t know why Monty was so bad in Detroit. Iffy on him.

   From what I can gather from Piston fans is he does not trust the young guys much, had Ausar benched early in the season when he was their best defender, and had Ivey who is arguably their best prospect besides Cade on a short leash

   Not sure if the success in Phoenix was because of the squad or he knows how to work with talent just not youth development
