Finch really never watched … literally almost any other game or season in Timberwolves history.

This is how I feel. It sucks to drop a winnable game but it’s a good sign that we still had a chance to win even though we played poorly.

Luka and Kyrie both played pretty perfectly and it was barely enough. That’s how it felt with Denver, they needed to play pretty perfectly to beat us. Denver couldn’t do that for 4 full games. Let’s see if Dallas can.

  3. If finch says we sucked and only lost by 3 I’m gonna drink that cool aid and trust wolves in 5

    # “It’s hard to imagine playing much worse.”

For some reason, I’m expecting the Arrested Development narrator to cut in.

  5. It was frustrating to watch Finch at the end of the game not saying anything behind the bench as they are trying to draw up the last in bound play. Get your ass up or turn the guys towards you so you can take control. He doesn’t need to take a backseat completely. He just can’t be on the sideline working refs.

I thought the Wolves played pretty well overall. A Naz-KAT-Kyle-Jaden-Ant lineup got absolutely killed in 7min but everyone else played the Mavs really well in 41min. Definitely some things to clean up but not too worried about this series (yet)

I want to hear more specifics even if we know he cant/wont share more during the series. Hard to imagine SloMo and Jaden playing much better on offense and from MY CHAIR those two looked nearly sterling on defense as well

  8. The defense was so atrocious in the first half. They need to wake up and put some effort in—their offense isn’t good enough to win a shootout with the Mavs.

I thought Luka won this game just as much or more as we lost it.

  10. We realistically could’ve held 75 points in the first half if Dallas made any of the open 3s they got. We ratcheted it up in the second half I think but the first half was incredibly bad

Losing always hurts, but, to me, it seems like we played nowhere near our potential and had a bad game overall, while Dallas gave it everything they had. It will be a very tough series, but I think we have a chance if we play at the same level we have during the rest of the playoffs.

I’m not a specialist, but it seems to me that they “only” have Luka and Kyrie as reliable offensive pieces. It’s a significant challenge because they are incredible players, but if we neutralize one of them, it seems they will be unable to react. Gobert on Luka to keep him out of the paint and Conley on Kyrie pushing him to the sides seems like a solid plan to me.

It was one game. A close one at that. Some decent bench play and Jaden continued his good run of play. He is sending a message to his leaders to step up to the big stage. They were flat and rather passive. Could have been a worse loss. Could also have been a W. I think the wolves have a lot more to give and this will be a back and forth close series.

It was pretty apparent that Dallas’ game plan was to keep the Wolves on the perimeter on defense and to rush the net on offense and they succeeded at doing so.

Wolves stayed in the game with great 3 point shooting but at the end they didn’t pull it off.

Good thing is they were in the game to the end and if they can play better they should win some games

Tbh losing by 3 well playing poorly isn’t the end of the world, and i’m TOTALLY fine with it, because if we had won maybe we don’t make the adjustments needed to close out the series. I’d take a game loss so we can win 4-1 and win in the finals lol
