There’s not a single reason for the CAVS to get anything other than a TOP TIER WorldClass Head Coach… Hopefully one with playoff experience.
Mike Krzyzewski, Izzo, & Doc Rivers should be called in, money is not an issue. (Not saying necessarily hire those 3 options, but I am saying that the search should go beyond mere assistants.)
Edit:
Y’all REALLY aren’t getting it…
You bring in these big names to interview and do the due diligence to finding the best coach on earth, to come in and coach for the next 20 years.
You bring in the big names and even if we hire Chris Quinn, the Cavaliers can say:
*Well Chris Quinn, beat out Doc Rivers and Coach K for the job, because Quinn is best suited to take us into the future.*
It’s a win/win

I don’t like the idea of a retread coach. Micah Nori and Chris Quinn make the most sense to me.

Atkinson would be a very good fit. Only thing he ever did wrong was be good enough with spare parts to attract two toxic stars to his team who then forced him out because he didn’t want to play Deandre Jordan over Jarrett Allen

…sooooo not Phil Jackson?

James Borrego and Kenny Atininson are both classified in my internal thinking as both development coaches, the same as JB. To be fair to them, they didn’t get a chance to get atleast one more year with their teams (Charlotte and Brooklyn respectively). My current preferred choice is Vogel but he’s also a defensive minded coach. Not too confident with his offensive schemes. Dark horse is Sam Cassell.
