window to win is right now this roster in three years could become very very expensive you’re already going to have to pay OG and Obi this summer brunson’s extension is lurking Randall extension seasons Josh Hart is on $100 million deal you can’t pay everybody and before you become one of the most expensive teams in the league which is a good problem because it means you’re a good team you might want to push your chips into the table and go all in right now and Fred cats of the athletic he thinks the Knicks are still going to do that and he has been told that quote the Knicks are still thoughts on that I’ll tell you if I’ll make the deal but do you think the Nick should trade Randall for Durant type D for trade type P for pass I think we should just set the stage by saying this whether you hate him whether you like him whether you think he’s a fraud a front runner a bum a loser whatever it is Twitter fingers it doesn’t matter we should all agree that when it comes to playing basketball Kevin Durant is still one of the best players in this league and he is a special special scorer and he was still really good this year in Phoenix I want to compare his stats to Julius Randle and what they did this year because the trade idea we have coming around the corner involves Randall and if you are going to trade for KD Randle needs to be involved because he makes $30 million Kevin Durant makes 52 you got to match that salary Durant averages more points than Randall this season less rebounds same amount of assists but the efficiency swings heavily in the way of Mr Durant 52 plus percent from the field and north of 41% from downtown that’s one thing that I’ve always respected the heck out of Kevin Durant’s game is not just his ability to put in the basket put the ball in the basket is how consistently and how efficiently he could do it he is going to go down as one of the most efficient jump Shooters of all time and he was still really good in the playoffs I know they lost in four games and got swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves but that team just beat the uh Denver Nuggets and that team could be going to the NBA finals and could be hoisting AAR o and four playoff games he averaged 26.8 points per game six plus rebounds three plus assists and shot 55% from the deck and North again of 41% unbelievable postseason yet again for Kevin Durant special player one of the best scorers of all time nobody can debate that but it’s not all good with Kevin Durant and all it ain’t always just champagne and roses with Mr Durant so why would the Knicks pass on that trade there’s a couple reasons one he’ll be 36 years old in the month of December this year father time is undefeated it is tugging right now on the Jersey of Kevin Durant how great do we consistently see him being at Age 3 36 at age 37 at age 38 and on top of that he’s had inju already started to stack up throughout his NBA career he played in north of 70 games this year and that is awesome that’s unbelievable that’s all you can ask for out of a player but in the season of 2021 2022 and 2023 he averaged just 45.6 games played just over half the season on top of that he’s had six 1 two three four five six coaches fired in six years so he’s 3 six he’s been injury-prone he’s had six coaches fired in six years and on top of that he’s do $105 million over the next two seasons so there’s a lot of baggage that comes with Kevin Durant if you are going to make a trade but the number one question I have for Durant is are you a Tom Tibido guy will you work and will you have success and will you fall in line and be a member of the team and not KD with Tom Tibido as your head coach and I’m not saying this because Tom Tibido runs his players into the ground I do not believe that to be true Julius Randall had his shoulder separated Mitchell Robinson broke his ankle B bogdanovich had a freak ankle injury and jayen Brunson came down and broke his hand none of those are Tom tibo’s fault and I think it’s even a reach to say the heart injury or the ogan anobi injury is Tom tibo’s fault I say all that to say I wonder if he would be able to fit in on a New York Knicks team coach by tips cuz tibs asked the most of you no load management we know that and he’s going to play you a lot of minutes which I don’t think is any of a problem but I do think that there are some really strong reasons as to why the Knicks should trade for Kevin Durant you are a legit NBA final championship Contender if you’ve got a team of Brunson stenzo Hart OG Kevin Durant and Isaiah hartenstein that is six great players and you could still have more players maybe like bogie or maybe like precious you bring him back that team could compete for the NBA Finals you have Brunson OG and Kevin Durant as your big three with hartenstein Hart and and Dante demenzo you got one of the best rosters in the NBA and on top of that you had another player two your team in the postseason that teams have to draw up game plans for I believe there was only one player on this Knicks team this year that Rick Carlile as well as Nick nurse thought we have to stop him we have to slow him down that’s J Brunson you throw KD into the fold you got to deal with both of those guys and you could say Marshall you could say the same about Randall I’m not sure how much Randall and I think he’s a good player the Knicks are better with him I want to see him have a chance to run it back with this team they were the best team in January 14- two when he did play alongside OG and Brunson but all I say all L to say I don’t think defensive coaches and coaches in the NBA are changing their defensive game plan too much to stop Julius Randle I still think it’s no matter what we got to slow down Jaylen Brunson in the play playoffs you can’t do that with the 7ot sniper and Kevin Durant another reason win now same thing with this you’re you realize you’re window to win now we talked about it a second ago the salary are coming the uptick and pay for a lot of these players are right around the corner you trade for Kevin Durant you might just be the most feared team in the NBA and outside of the question of if he is a Tom Tibido guy I think the New York Knicks are the perfect spot for a Kevin Durant trade this off season we know that Kevin Durant is a little bit flaky we know that Kevin Durant has never been able to do it as the number one guy on his team but he may just be the best number two of all time playing next to Steph Curry we got to see what Kevin Durant was about he got to focus on just basketball he got to just be a Hooper and at his core and at the definition of Kevin Durant he’s just the guy that wants to play basketball this could be Golden State Warriors 2.0 for him doesn’t need to be the face the franchise doesn’t need to be the leading scorer doesn’t need to be the guy that everybody looks at to get it done that’s Brunson that’s Hart that’s Stephen chenzo OG you throw KD in there and say yo just go get me 30 and play some defense and hoop I think can make a lot of sense the Knicks have a culture Golden State out of a culture the Knicks have a Hall of Fame P point guard Golden State had a Hall of Fame point guard the Knicks have a winning DNA they have a foundation they have a feel about them golden state did as well yes they’re they coming off championships but you question might be Marshall why on Earth would the Kevin why would the Phoenix Suns trade Kevin Durant in my opinion look at from the outside in the Phoenix Suns are in no man’s land right now they are capped out they don’t have any picks they have an older player aging player and Kevin Durant and and they couldn’t even win a game in the playoffs did they play a good team yes but the facts of the facts they’re old they’re injury-prone they’re not deep they’re capped out they don’t have much flexibility and they don’t have really any future picks to get it done and Bradley Beal the guy that you probably want to trade this summer he has no trade cause no team in the NBA is trading for Bradley Beal at this point and they have two first round picks from now until 2031 they have two first round picks in the next seven years how are they supposed to get better how are they supposed to build for the future because you’re not building for now you didn’t win you couldn’t get a game in the first round and the Suns aren’t trained Devon Booker so if you’re not trained Booker and you can’t trade Beal and you have no first round picks trading KD lets them get younger and more picks and potentially add more talent to this team and punches it’s not going to be cheap though if the Phoenix Suns are going to trade Kevin Durant they are going to want a king’s Ransom there is no doubt about that and as they should you don’t just trade guys for KD for nothing but if there is a team that is equipped enough to pay the price to play to buy the ticket of admission to the Kev Durant sweep Stakes it is our New York Knicks two first round picks in 2024 four potential first round picks in 2025 eight tradable first round picks and 11 first rounders in the next seven years when you talk about the four first round picks in 2025 you own a protected pick from Milwaukee a protected pick from Detroit protected pick from Washington and their own pick if this pick does not convey it goes top 11 then top nine same with Washington then top eight if those don’t convey then it would be two future second round picks you don’t want that to happen take advantage of the protected picks want back Robinson and I want back Duce McBride those will be the three players if I was the general manager for the Phoenix Suns I would be asking for if I was Kevin if I was giving up Kevin Durant is it a lot yeah on top of that I want your 24th overall pick this year a late first round pick that ain’t much and two protected first round picks give me the Bucks pick and give me the Wizards pick as well so three first round picks Randall Robinson and McBride would you make this trade it is a loaded question and it’s a loaded offer but let’s just think about it from the other side no we always want to win the trades everyone thought a lot of people thought the Nicks lost the O and Obi tradeit six months later I think everybody thinks they won that tradeit they didn’t give up any first round picks so you could make a move like this down the line would you make the trade a for except D for decline my answer on May 21st as I filmed this video is declined it is too early in the off seon to push all your chips into the table for Kevin Durant because there’s a lot of risk we told you that six fired coaches 36 years old averaging less than 45 game played over the last three seasons are we really ready to mortgage a lot of our assets for Kevin Durant who’s a risky player is he a winner at this point can he get it done I think he can while there is a lot of risk there could be a lot of reward as well I believe that if you have a one two three punch of of Brunson and an Obi and Durant you’re competing against any team in this league so I say let’s revisit if plan a and plan B fall through because Kevin Durant is not plan a for me Kevin Durant is not plan B for me if you can’t get in door a and you can’t get in door B and the suns are like you know what maybe we will trade you Kevin Durant then I’ll listen and then maybe I would pull the trigger on that deal but I got to see what happens the rest of this offseason I got to see who becomes available because there’s some other players I definitely want to see the Knicks go and try and make a move for prior to the 36-year-old Kevin Durant despite the fact I do think the Knicks could win the NBA title with him and I
