Celtics ride Jaylen Brown’s 40 PTS to Game 2 win vs. Pacers [FULL REACTION] | SC with SVP

all right the Celtics hadn’t won game twos we’ve covered that we’ve already beaten that into the ground in the early going of this particular show taking on Indiana who could have one game one how did they do it bill I don’t know they got a little lucky off a Miss let’s run there’s the man that just joined us Derek white down low Al Horford Celtics on a 5 nothing Road Jaylen Brown this was a sequence where I believe the Celtics had four different shot three different offensive rebounds and four shots good ball movement couple guys passed up clean looks Derek white it’s a 10 nothing run Jaylen Brown probe step back 15 nothing run Drew holiday Brown 17 nothing run just a little subtle little Flinch that’s why the double move is going to work every uh every game down in Tennessee for our guy Hassel back there goes t him on the drive timeout 20 to nothing run but the Pacers they’ve got a gear on offense that allows them to hang around it’s an 11-point game as Pascal seak drives then he gets that one to go as we’re watching this one in the room we’re saying if they go into the halftime down less than double digits it’s ridiculous well they’re down nine SE yakum hits another one they go in down six it’s now a five-point game check that t yakum Pacers with in two that however was as good as it would get Tatum on the drive gets the dunk the lead is four at this point as white no but here’s the very concerning moment as tyres Halbert and you see the Grimace right there and as coach Carla was describing it’s left hamstring soreness they don’t know more at this moment be finding out more in the coming days but they’ve got to have that guy and they don’t have him in this one Tatum once again as it was brown that had the huge scoring night Tatum didn’t have to do a ton of heavy lifting but he certainly was hitting big shots with the game still up for grabs they’re up 13 now Derek white another triple he had 23 the lead 16 Brown just so strong you’re going to need to body him on the way to the bucket or you’re going to never stop him then off the Miss there’s a little Drew holay kick he had a 15-point game double digit assist night he hits Tatum who buries another three he had 23 and the Celtics were able to control this game a bunch of different runs as you saw in the painted area say they outscore the Pacers by 20 making 73% of their field goal attempts to there Pacers 34 Point paint points their fewest in a game this postseason so Boston does something it has not done yet in this already impressive postseason run they win game two at home Joe moula with thoughts after the 16o win uh I thought the guys did a really good job uh you know trying to win those and you know first thing is obviously transition and uh it’s a three-step process keeping them out and you know I thought our transition defense was good uh really good kept him in the half court I thought our individual defense was good and I thought we were able to get in driving lanes and get out to Shooters and uh they test our discipline they test our communication and I thought we handled it better in game two what do you like about the way you closed in the fourth quarter obviously to extend the lead and and keep their starters from re-entering uh just the you know our defensive execution stayed intact uh gave up a few mer rebounds but our offensive spacing shot selection was good just managed the game properly uh Jaylen obviously had a monster night um what did you see from him just making the right play uh Poise patience discipline uh you know proper actions getting to the right spacing and just picking and choosing his spots really well whether there was in transition or in half court so it just continues to get better and better takes a lot of pride in uh his ability to uh impact the game in different ways and I thought he did that tonight he only had two assists in the in the Box Score but it seemed like he was getting off the the ball early when when his path was cut off it seemed like he was really moving the ball well on top of the scoring yeah I mean again hopefully one day they’ll add a potential assist category uh or a hockey assist and uh but he made the right play it’s the most important thing with Tyrese did he come into tonight sore not to my knowledge okay and he um he also was dealing with a chest issue we well he got a rebound and Jaylen Brown you I haven’t watch it again but Jaylen Brown looked like he almost went through him to get the ball and Tyrese hit the floor so he came back here and he had a couple tests done um with his chest and then you know he fortunately returned pretty quickly so yeah in a situation like that I mean you do have to think uh in long term right and both for the series and for that was a uh Tyrese’s injury early in the season that was pretty significant so well I mean I’m not sure what you’re asking um he was unable to return okay so it wasn’t like it was a coaching decision not to play him you know he just he was unable to return so we hope that you know this is a a very short-term aggravation um but again you know we we’ll know more tomorrow tomorrow and then you know Saturday obviously you know the next game is coming quickly I did just have one more on on tie he seemed like he walked off when you subed him out like he didn’t seem like he was limpic or anything did he come and say something after what just what happened at least to your knowledge and that he aggravated it well he he was he was sore at halftime um he was getting worked on through the entire halftime um came out and you know gave it a gave it a a shot and you know was was given all the effort that he could um but I haven’t talked to him about it directly so I can’t you know read minds but it wasn’t it wasn’t going well so um the trainers determined that you know he needed to go to the back and get worked on and he was ruled out there were plus one with Tyrese Halton on the floor Thursday – 17 without and look as advertised we’re not going to know by midnight Eastern we’re not going to know tomorrow we probably won’t know till Saturday at game time for certain whether or not he can go and as we always say we’re not going to speculate you just hamstrings in in any burst of energy sport is is not is not a great sort of recipe think about a wide receiver in the NFL you get a hamstring situation you got a week between games they play Saturday uh if he can go then they’ve got a chance for sure and they haven’t lost at home and again i’ remind everyone as if anyone forgot they were down 20 to the Knicks and left the garden that Garden thinking how the hell are we down 02 we probably should have gotten the game and then they flip the script they shoot 67% in game seven in the garden that Garden New York City’s and here they are so they’re very much in the fight but I think you and I would both agree that they’ve got to have Halbert to have any hope at all he is their Swagger he’s their Swagger when tyres halber gets it going their whole team feeds off of that the look in his eyes a little bit of talking that he likes to do string together some threes and backpedal and it just affects their entire team there’s nobody else in the roster that really can do what he does now he was quiet tonight like I said I think prior to the injury and there are nights he’s not as aggressive in coming off of screens or in transition and really loading up and getting ready into his shot anticipating that he’s going to be open I don’t think he really had that tonight for whatever reason um and there’s been a few games in the playoffs when that’s been the case he had a couple games like that in the Milwaukee series he had a couple games like that in the garden in the nick series I thought he kind of played like that tonight so that’s the one thing maybe the next level for Tyrese halberton going forward is no have that every night you’re going to have off nights but it can’t be that it looks different in terms of your aggressiveness of what you’re reading as an offensive player and I thought I saw some of that tonight with him but regardless when he’s on the floor even if he’s playing that way they are obviously more confident his energy you’re saying is is that important to who their overall like their overall energy as a team absolutely absolutely he’s just he affects them differently when he gets it going a little bit even when he strings together two buckets the reaction of their team is just kind of special and then they feel like okay these guys can’t guard us look and the energy of that building has been unbelievable and the Pacers are going to need every bit of it they haven’t lost at home in the playoffs thus far uh Celtics haven’t lost on the road thus far game three on uh Saturday on ABC yeah no um obviously like you know they yeah I think I thought they played like they played a little bit better for more stretches than we did um you know they had a lot of good runs and we just we we was was getting there close but just quite not quite there um not ER g wasn’t where it supposed to be and um yeah like I mean they had more rebounds like all everything like you know so they just played better than us like and um yeah we got to look ourselves in the mirror and and and move move on and and um think about it the next game Drew what did you think their defense was doing a little bit better tonight it felt like you guys struggled to get the shots you wanted at times in this game um I felt like it was a little bit maybe of a tighter paint they kind of Tred to clog the paint a little bit more make us play more like they switch a lot they do a lot of switching on and off the ball so it kind of keeps the matchups the way they kind of want it but I think if we if we move the right way and play with pace and get stops I think I think it’s it’s not going to be a problem for us and if you guys don’t have Tai didn’t at times tonight what changes for you and what do you have to do better as a team I think we just need to continuously play with pace and move the ball and get to other actions I think we play well when we are kind of random and not just setting up certain C certain um kind of plays and certain kind of uh like ball screens or certain kind of sets and stuff yeah for both you guys either or um you had it down to 6866 um was that kind of a stretch where Tyrese makes you know put you back over the hump and you knew that he was not going to be there um what do you mean well I mean that’s when you guys are able to make your a serious run and and it turns out Tyrese isn’t you know he’s your leader so um no I mean I think obviously we we need to but at the end of the day you know it’s next up next man mentality um we we got to we got to be ready and and we got to you know play together um this this team got to where we at tonight I mean where we at today um it’s by you know all of us um and and we all got to um stay together continue to play together um and obviously we want tyres back out there but I think you know obviously I don’t he wasn’t feeling well so it’s it’s on us to to continue to play and um you know bring that energy it’s a remarkable statistic Mike Breen mentioned it during The Telecast including Thursday’s playoff win the Celtics have have now led by at least 20 points and exactly half their games this season in regular season and playoffs not double digits 20 points if you recall Boston had the fifth best point differential in NBA history and the regular season behind four teams who all won an NBA title Jason a lot of the uh momentum seemed to shift when you moved over to to the five and O’Shea came in played played the four what did you see from those lineups that that worked yeah I think it uh allowed us to play a little bit faster um and you know each game presents different challenges or um you know we we always talk about we just have to be open to to different things and you know whenever your number is called or whatever you’re asked to do uh just be ready to do it I mean we’ve talked about this a little bit before obviously you’re a big guy but playing the five is different responsibilities maybe a little bit of a different toll in your body what what is that like for you shifting into that position uh I mean we got defensive principles that you know we just we follow uh and it’s just about being connected communicating and playing hard essentially and then uh you know going up and get try to get a rebound Jason oan was a plus 18 tonight what did you see from him that made him so impactful and how rewarding is it to see a guy that really hasn’t seen many minutes this postseason take off like that uh it was great you know just the energy that he came in with on both ends um just finding a way to impact the game and like you said we see the Stay Ready group guys work and show up for us every single day uh so you know I love when they when they’re able to get their number called and U get an opportunity to help us win a game [Music] [Applause] [Music] NBA is

  1. Carlisle such a baby complaining about JB hitting Halliburton's chest. Like he thinks the refs sucked and wants to whine about a dirty or uncalled foul. Wow. No one else catch that? Players get injured. Cmon.

  2. We need Miles to be a dog in this series and take advantage of Porzingis’ absence or we should find a way to get Embiid in the offseason 😂

  3. Brown is becoming the leader of this team. Tatum is a bit too soft and seems to be missing that killer instinct at times. I never see him on the sidelines "rallying the troops" either.

  4. Hes going to be overlooked as long as hes on the same team as JT, im from boston and been rocking with JB more since the finals where Tatum was a ghost

  5. The 1st game gave the Celtics a wake up call. They won't play with their food in this series 😅. Game 2 without Porzingis was maestro.
