My opinion is that the biggest problem with Tatum is being compared to his hero Kobe.
He’s not Kobe, not even really close. At least in terms of just saying “fuck all y’all, I’m taking every shot and more will go in than not.” Tatum does not have Kobe’s handle or ability to volume score. Or maybe he does, but it certainly isn’t his game in 2024.
But that’s ok. Tatum is better at everything else. People should look at him more like Tim Duncan or Kevin Durant (Durant also has a bigger bag than Tatum but I think they are similar), or closer to home, peak Paul Pierce. (though Tatum will be better than Pierce)
