Mavs are a bad matchup for Minnesota.

I mean it’s all matchups..Denver is a tougher go for the Mavs than the wolves are. Pretty straightforward
I believe the nuggets were tired and our bench was too thin. Im a huge fan but it seems our downfall was inevitable this year. If everyone showed up we could beat anyone though.
We can speculate all day long. This scenario, that scenario. But the fact is we are not in the WCF so we can’t possibly know.

Season’s over so… doesn’t matter. Although I highly doubt it considering how shaky we’ve been this postseason. Just rest, regroup and try again next year.
Disagree. Our starting lineup had diminished returns because of no bench. And if Jamal was that inconsistent we’re screwed
I agree. The Mavs would run the usual defensive scheme – put their 4 on Jokic while their 5 provides backline help. However, it wouldn’t be nearly as effective because the Timberwolves are the only team who have x2 centres (KAT and Naz Reid) play power forward.
So we’d be in a situation where the Mavs are putting 2 players on the best passer in the league. That would allow us to run our normal offensive sets. On defence, AG is strong enough to match Luka and KCP can stay infront of Kyrie.
Minny could throw 3 defensive bigs on Jokić in the same lineup. Mavs don’t have nearly enough of that luxury.
I still believe the 2nd round was the NBA finals for the Nuggets.

With the way the Mavs are playing right now (with a banged up Luka btw), and the way the Nuggs played in this post season, Nuggs would have a tough time with the Mavs as well. It would be something similar to the series the Nuggs had with Minnesota, only with the current undisputed best backcourt in the NBA, and a much improved frontcourt since the trade deadline. Nope. I’m not so sure the Nuggs would be a clear cut winner in a series with the Mavs. On to the next season…
