anywhere but I’ll keep you guys posted a team that has been the darling of the NBA Playoffs is without a doubt the Minnesota Timberwolves most fans that don’t have a team that they support in the playoffs right now like me who’s a Laker fan who doesn’t have his Lakers in the playoffs right now need somebody to root for and everybody seems to be rooting for the Minnesota Timberwolves and how can you not when you look at Anthony Edward’s interviews did you really tell the locker room staffer in Denver you were going to be back for hell yeah they know y’ was in there yeah I told them I said I see y’all mother for game seven thanks I mean this man is non-stop entertainment he has he has Charisma he’s intense he talks trash he even resembles Michael Jordan and about 4 years ago during the 2020 NBA draft there were some people that thought the Minnesota Timberwolves made a horrific mistake selecting Anthony Edwards over lamelo ball and I guess this is just because people loved to hate on the Minnesota Timberwolves back then I mean bear in mind this has been a team that has made terrible decision after terrible decision so I can’t blame some fans for not being able to imagine the Minnesota timber woles making an intelligent front office decision I mean going all the way back to the 2009 NBA draft this is a team that passed on Steph Curry twice in a row don’t even get me started on the David KH era and how terrible he was at drafting and this narrative about the Minnesota timberwol potentially making a mistake selecting Antman over lamelo ball went on for about a year lamelo ball one Rookie of the Year just by the means of how popular he was he definitely deserved it but he played in less games than Anthony Edwards did and that’s not to take anything away from lamelo ball but it’s just to proed my point in regards to how long this narrative went on for but since then lamelo’s career has been drastically different than Anthony Edwards Anthony Edwards was very lucky that he got drafted to a team that has been mired in mediocrity for years but had a genius as their president of basketball operation Tim Connelly the man that was credited for building the Denver Nuggets and also building the Minnesota Timberwolves the man is considered to be an absolute genius for trading for Rudy goar which I criticized at the time and trading D’Angelo Russell thus making the Minnesota Timberwolves go from the worst starting five in the NBA to the best starting five in the NBA which is insane to me but lamelo ball hasn’t been as lucky statistically speaking he’s taken the step forward each and every year but so far he’s had to deal with his team drafting James book Knight in the lottery moving on from Malik monk dealing with the miles Bridges situation year after year going through multiple head coaches dealing with the fact that Michael Jordan is pretty much the inverse as an owner as he was a player and on top of all of that lamelo ball has had to deal with a lot of injuries I mean this man had a sucession of foot and ankle injury since he’s entered the NBA whenever he’s healthy he’s one of the best players in the NBA averaging 23 points per game around eight assists per game and shooting around 38% from three but these ankle injuries really held him back so you would think that lamelo ball would be a little bit more sensitive to Foot and Ankle injuries but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case so far since entering the NBA there’s no question about it Lamela ball has been incredibly flashy I mean he drives a goldplated Ferrari he has one of the most disgusting looking bust down watches I think I’ve ever seen in my entire life and ultimately I just think he’s a young kid enjoying the fruits of his labor he’s worked his off his entire life to play basketball and now he’s just finally made it but this latest thing that’s happening to him is by far one of the worst looks that I think a basketball player has ever had to endure and bear in mind these are also allegations so the LA Times published an article about lamelo ball breaking the foot of a boy seeking an autograph when he drove over it yeah that’s exactly how it sounds lamelo Bal ran over a kid’s foot allegedly so it opens up by saying the videos are plentiful lamelo ball speeding out of the Charlotte Hornets players parking lot after a game gunning the accelerator and running the first red light down the street fans Lin the lot hoping against hope that lamelo ball or a teammate will slow roll down a window and S whatever they hand them that’s a pretty dramatic introduction look I I also wanted to open this up by saying these basketball players don’t owe you anything I mean it’s just their job to play basketball in front of a large crowd meet with media and for the most part that’s it anything extra they want to do is up to them if they want to do press tours charity events and autograph signings that’s up to them especially if they have specific agreements with companies that expect them to sign autographs we just covered the Marvin Harrison Jr situation on my football channel microphone and he’s in some trouble with them as a result of something similar to this so if you guys want to check that out I’ll leave it in the end screen but a while ago a video went viral of a kid asking Steph Curry for his autograph and Steph Curry ignored it Curry can I get autog please I love you please I love you Curry I love [Applause] you so I just wanted to open this up by saying that but this story sounds way worse worse than just ignoring a kid for an autograph Angel Joseph was one of the hopeful on October 7th 2023 and according to a lawsuit fil Tuesday in mecklinburg County Superior Court in North Carolina lamelo ball drove over his foot and broke it Angel was 11 at the time and was attempted to get an autograph outside of spectrum Center Arena after the teams purple and teal day an annual scrimmage designed to increase fan support ahead of the regular season instead the lawsuit says ball barreled over Angel’s foot failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian or to apply his breaks in time to avoid an accident the lawsuit says that angel suffered injuries that took several months to heal and damages totaling more than $25,000 the lawsuit also targets the Hornets alleging that the team did not provide adequate Security in pedestrian control measures at the player’s parking lot so that’s an angle that I actually could respect because you also have to see this from lamelo balls’ angle I don’t think lamelo looked at that kid and said you know what bro F your foot I’m going to run it over I don’t think he did that on purpose at all whatsoever but you also have to see this from lamelo Ball’s perspective what’s to stop a fan from putting himself In Harm’s Way in order to get an autograph from lamelo ball I’m not saying lamelo ball should run over kids but at a specific point you also have to understand that the Charlotte Hornets need to create an environment for their players to safely be able to leave the arena this Situation’s very unfortunate all around and don’t get me wrong I’m not saying lamelo ball did the right thing at all whatso ever but a huge portion of the blame should go to the Charlotte Hornets as well and you know you’re absolutely screwed whenever the Mom starts talking about the emotional toll that this injury took on her son which she does by the way saying more pressing for lamelo might be the injury sustained by Angel and the lawsuit alleging that Ball’s driving caused it McCrae says the lengthy recovery has taken an emotional toll on her son who is now 12 and bro I really believe it because according to this lawsuit Angel went up to lamelo and said lamelo I love you I love you sign my give me your autograph can you sign it for me and upon hearing this lamelo ball ran over his foot I mean could you imagine the psychological impact that does to a little kid your favorite basketball player you were just trying to get his autograph and this man runs over your foot and speeds off could you imagine the amount of betrayal this young kid felt obviously as adults it’s definitely phrased a little bit differently obviously as adults you could look at this and say hey like Lamela Bal probably does doesn’t really care about you that much he could appreciate you but he doesn’t really know you as a person but this is a 12-year-old kid who looked up to a lamelo ball and the moment he has an opportunity to interact with Lamela ball Lamela runs over his foot I mean that’s got to crush him as a kid and from that aspect I feel so much empathy no amount of money is going to be able to heal the trauma that this kid felt it’s a very harsh and brutal lesson to learn at the age of 12 and I feel so bad for Angel as a result of that so there’s footage of lamelo ball just driving recklessly and running red lights and then there’s also this clip of Angel and crutches it’s very tough to look at honestly at the end of the day I think this is probably going to come down to a settlement considering how lamelo signed a 5year $260 million contract extension not too long ago but money or not man this has got to be so tough for a kid to deal with and I feel so much empathy for that kid a lot of the blame goes to the Hornets for this situation obviously a lot of the blame goes to Lamela ball here at the same same time maybe the kid shouldn’t have been so aggressive and had his foot in the way of lamelo’s car but it’s a kid the kid
