UPDATED Chicago Bulls Draft Targets Ft. Cody Williams, Kyle Filipowski & Jared McCain

[Music] what’s going on bulls fans welcome into the Bulls report coming up on today’s show I’m going over the top five most realistic draft targets for the Chicago Bulls if they end up keeping pick 11 in this year’s upcoming draft there been a lot of speculation on who the Bulls top draft you know Target is well I got my most five likely choices for Chicago but before we dive into that guys got to you guys do hit that subscribe button to lock Us in as your goto Bulls draft YouTube channel but number one by far none my number one choice for the Bulls pick at number 11 and where’re honestly I think this front office is laning Cody Williams Colorado forward and he is necessarily A McDaniel’s um replica if you guys have been watching the Minnesota Timberwolves this year you know how special he has been just that Elite defender on the perimeter and also has been showing a huge ability to you know knock the ball or knock the three ball down um at a very high rate over the last couple of games but Cody Williams this past year at Colorado he was solid um as a true freshman he put up 11.9 points per game in just 28 minutes and super efficient as well the three-point shooting I do want to make this note he was not known as a three-point shooter coming out of high school and some people are kind of saying this was kind of just you know natural Shooters luck but hey he still put up a 41.5% from downtown and 55% from the field but my scouting report on Cody Williams he is 19 years old 6’8 190 lb super long arms and you know his Pro Comp for me is Jaden McDaniels just like that super long athletic wing and he kind of Moves Like Him offensively and I don’t want to sound the Panic alarms for B fans the one thing about Cody Williams I do not like is his one dribble pullup very similar to Patrick Williams like he’s kind of got a slow base when he’s setting it he really has to set still when he is getting to that pull-up jumper he can’t just kind of have a you know a fluid run into a type of move like he has to set his feet and you know I like that that he’s you know that process of like oh I have to set my feet to get the strong base on my jump shot and that’s fantastic in terms of like being a catch and shoot three-point shooter like you want those guys to have that base for just one you know fluid motion but if also like if you’re in the mid-range in the NBA and you just need to get a bucket like I would like to see it be more fluid but hey he’s 19 years old he could work on that that’s why I did put his weakness at shot creation but some of his strengths man he is fantastic in transition getting to the rim uh anytime I’ve turned on any of his you know uh game tape from this past season like there has been at least one or two clips every single game of him just beating everybody down the floor attacking the rim and just getting an easy layup for his team and like I also said I think he’s got really you know all NBA defense type of potential and you know he’s just fun to watch he plays with energy and I was actually all over this guy you know even before March Madness I was saying Colorado could go on a run specifically because of Cody Williams also my favorite part he’s younger brothers of Jaylen Williams on the thunder so he’s got that in his blood and we saw the step he took this past season so Cody Williams by far none my number one draft Target for Chicago but number two for me Dalton connect the Tennessee Ford and you know he is honestly the complete opposite of Cody Williams Cody Williams is 19 years old you know defensive minded Wing Dalton connect 23 years old offensive minded wing and he had an unreal year for the volunteers this past season I was selfishly you know pulling for them in the tournament just because I love to watch this guy play basketball definition of a three level score um you know he’s not the prototypical like catch and shoot three-point you know stereotypical white or white college basketball player like he can get it done from all three levels super long wingspan great at attacking the rim as well but he also is a knockdown three-point shooter hence why he shot 39.7% from deep but a little bit more on him he is a 6’6 204 PBS um he’s got a really sneaky long wingspan at 6′ n which is why even though in college like yes he was not a he was not a bad Defender but he was not a great defender and you know when you have a guy who’s 23 years old you would hope he would be you know a great defender in college but I think he’s got the you know he’s got the physical profile to be a good defender in the NBA but his strengths to the shooting at all three levels like he’s you know great off to dribble from downtown great as a catch and shoot guy from the three-point land and also in the mid-range he can get to that one dribble pullup it is you know the opposite of Cody Williams where he is getting to that dribble pullup and he’s right into it he does not need to kind of set and set his base to get a you know a consistent jumper he can just get to that spot rise up and knock it down am I Pro Comp for for him Gordon Hayward um you know I think this was a pre-injury Gordon Hayward cuz I think connect is obviously a lot more athletic than him right now but the way they use their body especially in that low post area when it just is just quick little bump side step and it’s just rising up and hitting a jump shot like connect does that better than anybody so connect number two for me if the Bulls want to go a different direction and get a guy that can you know impact winning right away day one for Chicago where I think Cody Williams be a little bit more of a developmental process ECT then Dalton connect is your guy now I do have three more draft targets for you um just a pure shooting guard man and I’m I’m I’m a big fan of his game and I didn’t think I would be okay with the bulls taking him at 11 but as I have I as I have watched more than him I’m all in on it and like I said he’s a sniper from downtown I mean as a true freshman he shot 41.4% from three 14 points a game he stayed healthy the entire year and I thought honestly was going to you know have the um Duke Blue Devils you know dancing in the final four but obviously they went ran into a wagon and uh didn’t end up winning but some pros on him he’s got a lightning quick uh quick release and his shot is very repeatable but the one thing I could see a shot getting him into trouble he very similar to Cody Williams he has to have his base set like it’s kind of similar to Clay shot but clay can just get that release and get it going anytime like I feel like McCain even though it is a lightning quick release like he does have to take a second but once he is there it is going up in less than half a second like it is it is incredible uh he’s a really good Defender as well he moves laterally very well um has a strong chest so like even when guards are turning the corner and getting into him he can kind of withstand that blow put some cons on him what position does he really play like 6′ three is he going to be running point guard probably not doesn’t really have the handles for that could I think he’s more of a true two but then he’s probably under sized and plus he’s not the best finisher at The Rim not really a vertical athlete so I don’t really have a pro comp for him but I tell you what man he makes winning plays and get shoot the shoot the hell out of the ball so I would be okay with the blls taking him at 11 but number four for me Kyle Phil palski his Duke teammate I’ll throw the comparison out there reminds me a lot of Lori marinan uh not the athlete Lori was coming out of Arizona cuz that was probably his like biggest part of his upside was like oh man this guy 6′ 10 can move so well and he can knock it down from downtown but I tell you what filipowski is that guy man um he was great this pass year for Duke and the thing I loved about him the most um from his rookie or his freshman year at Duke to his sophomore year like we saw that jump we saw him put on a whole bunch of muscle onto his frame that’s why he was able to have a great year man 16 points a game eight rebounds two assists shot lights out from downtown super efficient great touch around the rim defensively he will struggle at the next level not sure how he will be able to you know stand up in that pick and roll um especially with how good these NBA guards have gotten over the last couple years man like he is going to struggle in that regard but hey offensively this guy’s probably one of my favorite prospects in the draft you can uh get it done from all three levels and just a pick and pop game that he’s going to be able to you know deploy at the next level is truly truly going to be special but lastly Ron howand and Ron Holland heading into this past college basketball season so if we took it back all the way the last year he was the projected number one overall pick but he has fallen off and it’s not like he had a terrible year last year with overtime Elite I mean yes the efficiency wasn’t there you know still 44% from the field which is not bad and you know we know that overtime Elite basketball is not the you it’s not the best brand to basketball in my opinion but he was still able to put up 20 points hit the glass pretty well with six boards has some playmaking ability at three assists but the shot from downtown is ugly um I’m not a big fan of this form um it’s a slower release kind of has a hitch in it and he just doesn’t really look you know the most confident when he’s taking that jump shot but I’ll tell you what he’s got the most upside in this uh out of all the draft targets we’ve talked about today like just because of his athletic you know kind of ceiling he is the best athlete he’s got a super long wingspan and if he you know kind of has the want and hustle he could be an all World Defender like even better than a guy like Cody Williams who I’m super high on as well but I think just Cody Williams has more of that dog in him and just has more of that want on the defensive side of the floor which in my opinion defense i l it’s 70% want and 30% just your physical you know profile and ability but Hey Ron Holland that would be the big you know you’re at the Batters box it’s either going to be a home run or a strikeout for the Bulls but I’ll definitely you know I would be down for the Bulls to take a chance on them at well uh as well but I just give you guys five names on my top five draft targets for Chicago that are
