Sources Say The NBA Offseason Has Already Started…

now I know what some of you are thinking Tucker Celtics Pacers was last night why are we talking about the offseason why aren’t we talking about the games that are actually happening right now well I’ll give you the entirety of my Celtics Pacers video right now so the Celtics took game two against the indana Pacers they’re now up 20 in the series Tyrese halberton got hurt and the Celtics are going to make the finals that would be the entirety of the video so more interestingly to me and hopefully to you guys is some really interesting offseason rumors that we are getting that is honestly hard to keep track of so I just wanted to put them all together in one video and let’s just talk about it and for me the place to start is Donovan Mitchell in Cleveland now I get comments every single time that I talk about Donovan Mitchell potentially leaving Cleveland of all these fans are saying he’s not going to leave why you keep talking about the fact that he’s going to leave well because we’ve been getting signs for a year and a half that he might want to leave but now this situation is getting even more interesting because the Cavs just fired their coach they seem to be really confident that they’re going to get Donovan Mitchell to sign this extension and if he does sign the extension the Cavs are going to look much different next season I mean they’re going to look much different regardless because either Mitchell’s going to be there or he’s not but if he sign the extension then we get in the territory of they’re going to trade away Darius Garland at least that’s what the reports are and it seems like they’ve already reached the conclusion of trading way Jared Allen as well regardless of the situation with their backourt now to Mitchell specifically it seems like we’re going to get an answer before the actual start of the NBA draft uh Mitchell has to make the decision on the extension this off season and as we’ve talked about he would be a free agent next off season and if he doesn’t sign the extension this year then the then the Cavs would pretty much be forced to go ahead and trade him away it seems relatively likely at this point that Donovan Mitchell is going to stay despite some of the signs that we’ve seen over the past couple of seasons and given that fact I think the more interesting part of this is talk about Darius Scarlett I honestly think that when you think about all the other guys that could be changing teams even as far as like LeBron Paul George Darius scarla might be the guy that I would want more than anybody else out there right now whether it be via trade or free agency or whatever because yes he had a weird season but when you go back to the year before Donovan Mitchell got there and honestly his first year with Don Mitchell there as well the year before he got there he had to do everything offensively and he was awesome and I’m not concerned about a statistical dip this season for Darius Garland or this previous season I should say because he broke his jaw in the middle of the year right he was out for a couple of months his diet was weird like I’m not worried about Darius Garland at all and if I’m certainly if I’m the Nets who desperately need a guard if I’m the magic if I’m the Spurs if I’m any of these teams that need a guard I’m absolutely desperate to go out and get Darius garine like that is someone that I would absolutely want and I think could get a decent amount of stuff back for him and it’s honestly not the worst thing in the world if they were to structure their team then now around you know D Mitchell and potentially EV a Moy because Jared Allen is another guy that it seems like golly I’m talking fast Jared Allen is another guy that it seems like the Cavs would like to trade sometimes I just get going and I I don’t even know where to stop and just like when the Nets trade in mway is part of the Harden trade there should be teams that want him I don’t know if there are actually going to be teams that want him but Jared Allen is a legitimately good big on a pretty good contract that that just doesn’t fit super well in Cleveland anymore because we saw how good Evan Moy was in a couple of playoff games when he was at the five fulltime and that feels like Evan Mo’s Destiny we’ve tried to make him a four we’ve tried to develop his offensive skill I don’t know why I’m saying we like me or any of y’all had anything to do with Evan Mo’s development but like it’s been an effort has been made right to make EV Mo a four and if he’s not going to develop more offensively than him at the five Mitchell at the one figuring out the rest of it appears at this point to be the path that the Cavs are going to take this off season and to me honestly that’s a pretty interesting outcome there certainly are some concerns about what Donovan Mitchell looks like as like the deao point guard of a team in terms of as a facilitator obviously is an incredible score but there are certainly people around the league um you know reportedly and obviously fans as well that don’t love the concept of Donovan Mitchell as the full-time point guard for a team just in terms of his facilitating um and that’s kind of the the the Gap that Darius scarland was meant to bridge but if they do move on from those two guys I think they’re going to get a ton of stuff they’re going to have an opportunity to to bring in a couple of wings that would fit really well there and I don’t know it it’s just a really really interesting situation to me because it allows them to potentially recoup a good amount of if not all the stuff that they traded away from Mitchell while also filling out the roster in potentially a more efficient way with Mitchell at the one and Moy at the five I have no idea if any of that’s going to happen literally a week after this video Mitchell could say I’m not signing the extension and then the Cavs would have to trade him so really nobody knows what’s going on but it feels like the momentum is pulling us towards donov Mitchell staying a Cleveland Cavalier now before we move on the next guy I want to thank the sponsor of today’s video prize picks now if you’ve never tried prize picks before it’s really really cool essentially it’s you against these numbers and if you’re watching NBA game they have a ton of other sports as well but of course we’ll focus on the NBA today and you feel like you have a decent idea of what may or may not happen you just click any of these numbers you put together a selection of between two and six of them and if you win you win some cash it really is that simple you could pick that number or that one that one looks pretty good and it’s just something fun to keep track of add to your viewing experience on a up to $100 to get you started with prize picks also keep an eye on some of the promos that they’ll do they’ll discount some of the numbers on occasion just because of special promotions um they’ll have free squares on occasion which I’ll tell you guys about either here or on Twitter and they also have some of these demons and goblins numbers as well the red ones are harder but give you a bigger payout and the green ones are easier but lower your payout there’s a lot of stuff going on all the time at priz piig one of the reasons they’re a consistent sponsor here I really enjoy working with thank you again prize picks for sponsoring this video and check them out if you guys want all right now let’s talk about the Philadelphia 76ers they actually kind of have their hands in a couple of different sections here but we’re going to first discuss them as a team as it relates to Paul George because as we’ve talked about in the past the Sixers have like three guys under contract right now one of which is Paul Reed like it’s Maxi who’s going to get the extension embiid of course and then the rest of the rosters basically open they have all this cap space they’re not going to have as much as it might appear on screen at the moment uh because they obviously have to sign Tyrese Maxi to the extension but they’re gonna have an opportunity to get One Max contract guy and the guy that continues to get thrown out there as the piece that they want that they might actually be able to get is Paul George and I’ve talked about this in previous videos where I was like I don’t really know if Paul George is actually going to leave La that feels like a long shot for Philadelphia well it seems like those odds are getting better and better by the day for the Sixers and that would certainly be a really interesting combination not to mention a Borderline Disaster for the Clippers we can talk about all the injury stuff the Clippers have had to deal with over the years and why it wouldn’t make sense to continue to bring those same guys back but even if that is the case even if Paul George does have injury stuff over the next couple of Seasons the Clippers are already locked into that scenario even if Paul George leaves they’re still going to be paying a ton of money for a team that would objectively be worse they have no way to replace what Paul George would be if he were to leave and that obviously would be a complete disaster for the Clippers I like the fit in Philadelphia Paul George has this like in between Star you know I think we’re kind of moving away from this concept of let me get you know three All-Star guys and then fill out their rest of the roster I think you can tell just based off the Conference Finals like homegrown teams teams that are able to put together you know a decent team to a really good team and then add one more piece to it that more so is kind of the model rather than like three stars and a bunch of other guys like just extending that out to you know drafting good role players developing good role players that seems to be more the model rather than what Philadelphia is going for where like they have the two stars they drafted then they add another star and they figure out the rest of the pieces but still from a talent perspective it’s about as good as Philadelphia could expect to do this this off season is adding Paul George and it seems like there’s like a pretty decent chance that that’s actually going to happen now we’re going to come back to the Sixers here a little bit later but I also want to talk about the New York Knicks because um obviously an unfortunate end of the season for the Knicks because like basically their entire starting five got hurt by the end of the postseason Randall Brunson broke his hand halfway through game seven we don’t have to go through all the Knicks injury stuff right really good season for them probably should have made the Conference Finals would have made the Conference Finals presumably if they were healthy didn’t happen that way so now they go into the off season they’ve got all these future picks they’ve got an opportunity to improve it seems like the Don of a Mitchell ship has sailed at least a little bit potentially because maybe he just doesn’t want to be like the sidekick on Jaylen brunson’s team and honestly I don’t really think the Knicks are all that interested in adding him to what Brunson has already been able to do I think they’re more so interested in what they’ve kind of already done which is bring in Dante D venzo bring in Josh Hart you know bring in Miles McBride these guys that just fit well alongside these Stars they already have one being Brunson and two Rand when he’s healthy and I think they’re going to have an opportunity to continue to add to that the guy for me to really pay attention to is male bridges in Brooklyn because we’ve heard this whole time that the Nets want to keep male Bridges they want to hold on to them they feel like stars are going to want to come and play alongside Mel Bridges but it feels like that that angle was pretty directly pointed at Donovan Mitchell and if Mitchell stays in Cleveland and they feel like that ship has sailed I could certainly see a scenario which the Nets start looking around and thinking okay we weren’t good last year we need some like we have some other teams future picks but we’re not going to be good again next year we might as well get some more picks for a guy in bridges that’s good has value is on a good contract but by the time the Nets are anything close to good again is going to be you know in his in his early to mid-30s so I could certainly see a scenario in which the Knicks call them up and we’re like hey okay we’re not going to give up Randall we want to keep that guy in place we want to keep Brunson we want to keep of course you know our Villanova guys Hart divon chenzo hartenstein uh Mitchell Robinson like that’s our group right and we just want to add mckel Bridges to that I could see a scenario which they go to them like hey we have all these picks maybe miles McBride is in the deal whatever the case they match some salaries and all of a sudden the Knicks have just basically added male Bridges to the roster which one would be really fun because of the Villanova thing but two it’s a pretty interesting combination alongside what they already have there in New York and obviously this isn’t specific to tra to free agency stuff I should say but as a trade rumor I think that is incredibly interesting you might notice by the way the guy I didn’t mention in that entire section not once for the Knicks was oan anobi and part of that is because we’re getting some rumors that he might not be guaranteed to remain in New York Nick next season which obviously would continue to add to the need I guess I should say for the Knicks to add Mel Bridges to the roster if they were to lose uh OG and and Obi in free agency they knew this at the time they traded for OG they didn’t give up a ton to get him and they felt like there was at least somewhat of a risk that they might lose him as a free agent maybe even to as I said we were going to get back to the Philadelphia 76ers it feels like Plan B for Philly right now is to bring in ogn and Obi if they don’t get Paul George there’s a couple couple of reasons why OG might end up on a new team one if they feel like they have a decent shot at Mel Bridges maybe they feel like it’s worth bringing him in rather than potentially overpaying for OG too the money he could potentially demand might just price out the Knicks like they can sign him to whatever they want to but they might think that his impact on the team is just not there and three it might be like a Jeremy Grant going to Detroit situation where like OG just wants to go somewhere where he’s going to have more offensive responsibility and it’s clear that in New York he is going to be a 15 to 16 point per game guy he’s going to stand in the he’s going to shoot threes going to drive a little bit maybe an occasional post up but it’s going to be a lot of Brunson going to be a lot of guys in transition a lot of guys jacking up threes and he’s not going to be you know an offensive focal point now I don’t think he should be an offensive focal point to be clear but that means nothing to OG and anobi if he wants to go somewhere else and try and improve his situation and potentially on top of that earn more money than maybe the Knicks are willing to give up for a guy that they don’t see as an offensive focal point piece now obviously all the things I just said with the exception of the money don’t make sense in philad right because he’s not going to be an offensive focal point there and probably even less so than he would be in New York so really I think what this comes down to is the Knicks are going to have to look at the situation see what OG and obi’s other offers are and they’re going to have to step up to play that they want to keep him he has long been someone that a lot of other teams have really really valued he’s been underpaid a little bit for the last couple of seasons and it’s time for him to cash in and if the Knicks want to keep this group together including the guy they traded for the deadline I think they’re going to have to pay him a bunch I’m not trying to say it’s going to be a Max contract or anything but it might be something close which could be potentially concerning to the Knicks and honestly I think it’d be cool if they they got they got OG and then they also found a way to trade for Mel Bridges too like that would be super cool as well uh but an interesting offseason upcoming for the Knicks coming off of a really really feel-good season for them and then last up on the list this is more so just like a a Vibes section here Trey young like we we had you know some rumors over the last couple of weeks maybe it’s the Spurs those that has kind of been dispelled lately uh some other options out there whether it be the Lakers who knows tryong on Twitter has just been weird lately like that’s literally what this entire section is is he’s just tweeting about these other teams and how they’ve added stars and kind of like backhand complimenting these other front offices in relation to what the Hawks have been able to do and obviously we’ve talked about the Atlanta situation before with them ending up with the first overall pick what that could potentially mean for Trey young I’m just I’m just putting a pin in this I’m just spotlighting this a little bit for what it could potentially mean for the future of TR in Atlanta because it feels like as much as there’s ever been frustration there in the past um it it’s kind of reached its peak right now for Trey young and Atlanta and that’s that’s all that’s kind of the offseason rumors Roundup for right now

  1. Mitchell basically ran the point for quite a bit of the time when the Cavs had their best run of the season during the 18-2 stretch and seemed fairly comfortable doing so

  2. Bro has been spewing nonsense for a year and a half.

Mitchell is staying and all signs have pointed to him staying.

  3. The fit of Paul George in San Antonio though. The Spurs could send the salary (Graham, Sochan, etc.) and Atlanta's pix back to get Trae to the Clippers. If SA got Topic or Sheppard at 4, they might pull something like this irl. I think Trae and the #8 and the #35 is plenty for a 15th season George.
LAC can get up deep into the 1st using that #35 and get somebody for fit to go/grow along with the #8 guy (Buzelis? Holland? Knecht? Cody Williams?)

  4. Lol if I’m the Cavs, I’m laughing at Darius trade request and then telling him to suite up and get ready to play. He just signed that massive rookie extension, your not getting moved this year.

  5. The Super Team Era has died down is simply because Franchises think just because you have 3 Superstars or Stars you’re going to win but it’s a lot more to it
It’s like do these guys fit well together and are they willing to sacrifice for the betterment of the team and 100% of the times since KD Warriors the answer is No

  6. STOP WITH THE BRIDGES BLASPHEMY BROOKLYN WOULD PRY OUT THEIR LEFT EYE WITH A DULL SPOON BEFORE THEY HELP THE KNICKS POTENTIALLY WIN A TITLE. IF THE KNICKS WIN A TITLE TGEY MAY AS WELL TAKE THEIR SHINY ARENA AND MOVE IT TO MEXICO

  7. Do we really think Darius Garland can be the lead guard on a team that wants to take a deep run in the playoffs??

    😬😬

  8. PGs move just does not make any sense. Why leave a situation where your biggest problem is that the no1 option is never available to another place with the exact same problem? When he wants to be living on LA.

PG leaving only makes sense if he knows he is going to have a better chance at a championship or if the Clippers finally decide to blow it up.

  9. would like to J. Allen or Hartenstein in OKC.
    Trae or Spida in Miami.
Bridges would be such a good fit on the Knicks but I don't see how they get him – not only were the Nets turning down 4 FRP for him at the deadline and he was completely untouchable (though things change) but i feel like other teams could just put together better offers for him than NY.

  10. The intro made me angry a lot, using kind words. The whole purpose of the trades is making good postseason run. And when the current run entered semi-final stage, Tuck just talks some gossip. I hate this attitude: always looking for the next thing, but when the next thing actually arrives, ignoring ot and looking for the next next thing. Not being able to enjoy the moment, just livin fantasy future.

  11. As a Sixers Fan, I don't want any part of Paul George's Injury-prone, playoff choking, almost cooked carcass.

  12. dg n allen for bridges n cam, u build allen, dg n cam thomas for the nets, the cavs get a new pg n then run dmitch, bridges, cam n mobley at the 5

  13. …why would the Knicks give up Quickley an R.J. to just have a rental with O.G.? Doesn't make a lot of sense. Maybe if you get P.G. you let him walk but outside of that I don't see it.

  14. God bless! Jesus Christ is King and saves and is the way! Psalms 62 – "Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken." Jeremiah 29:11 – "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

  15. We, the Pistons, would relieve them of Jarrett Allen any day. We would be interested in any good player, actually. LOL
