What a wasted year and absolute blown opporunity this year was. The fact that Giannis was injured for the second year in the row in the playoffs, Sixers got knocked out in the 1st round this year compared to their usual 2nd round, Thibs ran all of his starters into the ground, and then Porzingus got injured, but more importantly, the fact that the NUGGETS got knocked out in the 2nd round of the playoffs this year, meant that the Heat had a legit shot to make it back to the Finals this year or at the very least make it to the ECF this year against a Porzingus less Celtics team and then in the Finals they would’ve faced a team way worse than the Nuggets. Literally all they had to do was to not fuck around in the regular season all year long and just win one. One more regular season game and it would’ve gotten them out of the play in and would’ve sent them on a clear path to at worst the ECF, if not the Finals against a team they matched up far better than Denver. Sigh… oh what could have been!
There’s no way you can sit here with a straight face and tell me that the Heat can’t be where the freaking Pacers are right now.
